Nice video again, you won’t regret milling your own and buying in bulk. Love Hoppy Days. I’ve got the Grainfather mill, it’s awesome. Surely the Maltzilla should be above the board as well, so it doesn’t drown in cracked grain and dust?
Wouldn't it make more sense to mount the mill on top of the plywood instead below? Then you can still easily use the adjustment handles, the motor is not prone to the milling dust, and you can use the full capacity of the bucket.
Great Video. Did you end up putting a power switch on it? Just got my Maltzilla and I'd love a video on adding a switch, or at least a suggested switch to use.
I ended up controlling all the brewery equipment with smart plugs and that gives me voice control to turn things on and off. Those wires are low voltage so you could use any single throw switch rated to 12V from somewhere like Jaycar.
It's doing fine. I've probably put 100kg of grain through it now and the crush is as good as I get from the home are store. There are a few leaks where unmilled grain can escape and I'll probably fill them with silicone. I'm not 100% sold on the hopper, I might try the large water bottle you can get as a funnel and see if that works better.

Good suggestion, I moved it around and it worked well. It also leaves me a lot more room in the bucket to mill into.
Spendy, but I never regretted buying a maltzilla
what sort of gap do you use on yours? In what sort of system? Cheers.
@@KenLovesCraftBeer a thick piece of post card/business card for gap. Blichmann brew easy "classic" and a quart of ricehulls over the false bottom

Good suggestion, I moved it around yesterday.

how has the mill held up? I see a lot of people having issues with this mill online.
