Been to this track a few times, I’m partial to the daylight locomotive in 7.5. Love the look of the cars in this video in the smaller gauge better, because of the detail. All are equally sharp models
I've seen a short video of this mikado on Facebook. I've been looking for more videos & pics of it FOREVER! Happy someone finally posted a video about it. I'm finishing a 1" scale CN Mikado project. Thanks for the cool video!
1" scale is really a perfect hobbies scale. Such a shame it's not more popular. The 4.75 gauge is great for narrow gauge as well to satisfy the ones looking for larger equipment but still share same track gauge.
Okay so stupid question only because i literally do not know anything bout these scaled down locomotives. But do they have to go thru inspections like the real ones do?
They do. They go through a hydro test just like the full size to check for leaks or other problems. Safety is taken very serious by a lot of clubs and even the more lax ones still have a pretty thorough process.
I’m waiting on the shop to finish the rods-when that is done I will be sent the footage for the next installment. We’re still waiting for castings for the pilot and trailing truck.
Nice video but I have to wonder why you have a under 13 disclaimer on your videos. I started out running live steamers at my local club at age twelve and no it wasnt family members engines.....
That is a huge return crank
That is what I was thinking. It is whipping round at a greater pitch than the original.
I was just thinking that. There must be a reason though. Timing maybe?
It looked like one of the flat cars was carrying a boiler and cab assembly for another locomotive. Pretty cool!
This is wondrous! New surprise: a 1" scale model of the Southern locomotive #4501! Love it!

happyish may!
Looks like a great place to visit, Great engineering there 👍

Search out the St Croix Live Steamers and MrJoesteam. The 4501 is on there lots of times.

That is the 4501 home track in Goehner NE.
These people are awesome! They bring the locomotive every year to tvrm and run it beside the real locomotive!
When? I need to see this...
@@theordinarypeanut9065 They used to come to Railfest, but things changed.
@@MikadoProductions due to COVID? So if the pandemic ends I can see this?
@@theordinarypeanut9065 No. Unfortunately, Railfest was cancelled after 2018.
I approve of this video. Thank you.
I enjoyed it.
Wonderful video :)

It looks like i'm gonna be riding on this engine
looks like the track needs some work in places. but still looks like a fun little railway
Nice!

Hey I seen that 4501 in real life
It is my dream to build the 630 version
Very cool video know did this happen in 2018?
Couple questions about this locomotive when was this version built and who built it
when is the next video series for building Union Pacific 844

😊👏👏👏👏👏👏
The size of the crank makes me extremely uncomfortable

7.25” gauge?
This is 1” scale. 7.25 is only used on the east coast.
never enough mikados, consolidations or mountains (the 4-8-2 not the terrain)
Can you try and capture some more mixed freights? or is it the same ppl?

Look up COPPA and the FCC
