A small note here about the wording at 2:04 - i was 100% lifetime guaranteed certain that i had an accompanying clip of me stopping someone's back with set to pair it with that line, buuut it turns out i didn't. Or i did at some point and had deleted it, whoops.
I know right! I stopped back in 2015 and just recently picked it up again and man are these videos helpful on learning the new gods and getting reacquainted with ones I know
I’m sure I’ve already praised this, but in case I’m mistaken - the transitions between abilities and sections of the video that you write in are very well done. Writing these transitions is a talent I’m sure CAN be learned but some are just naturals at. Each one is entertaining or clever enough to give me a cheeky smile. Keep on keeping on!
Thanks for the kind words! IT was definitely something that I'd wanted to implement for some time, i took inspiration from ACG's (the game reviewer) writing style in that regard.
This helps so much, I could not figure out this god, always struggled to play him but always got massacred by him and I couldn't figure out why. This is a great guide 👍
Great concise video on this. Definitely taught me a lot. Only thing I noticed was maybe a not of what numbers you're hitting on the combos since it was a bit hard to follow. Thank you for the great information!
If you have the time ofc id love to see a video that kinda explains what all gods can play a role, like how ofc the warrior gods play solo but theres other gods in diff classes that can also play that role
yeah that's a pretty cool idea for a like a top 10 video or something where i talk about gods who would up in or are currently in roles that you wouldn't expect them to be. But, since i always mention in the intro of my guides if the god has any roles outside of their intended one, i think it'd kinda just overlap with my guides making the video kind of unneeded, since i intend on making a guide on every god, so in that sense, id mention every god's branch out to other roles without the other video. Also, gods making appearances in unintended roles tends to only last a short time while a particular build was good, so at worst the video would be outdated, and at best id be making more of a retrospective video which isn't exactly what imp focused on. i do still really appreciate the suggestion though, so keep them coming if you have any!
Also don’t mind seeing things other than conquest. I play joust mostly for quicker games. Trying to learn conquest but it’s a bit daunting as I put it off for so long. Lol
lmao yeah you just gotta make sure you spam it just before you use your 1so you can get max damage, because it'll only spawn the extra spawns when you already have 2 stacks of your 2 already, so after your ult you'll always have 2 set spawns ready to go
Yeah definitely, use clones to deal double damage with a projectile, can also teleport to the clones. I'm surprised you dont like him though, i love Zed in League, i was so happy when he became viable in jungle.
@Shenmoki I think its their ultimates. While zed focuses even more on assassination with his ult Sett lets you go ham and actually carry the team fight really hard
It's definitely dependant on who you're able to gank early on, some gods just have too much cc for ganks to work out. But generally you want to be aggressive on him, you usually want to poke with your first ability, then if that hit, you can 2 3 teleport into them. If the first ability misses the gank will be a lot harder and probably won't result in a kill and if you're ganking a solo laner you almost definitely can't kill them. Speaking of which, you usually want to be ganking ADCs and Midlaners as Set, Set really can't kill solo laners early and mid game. So, while Set's damage is solid enough to kill ADCs and Midlaners, you want to measure how much CC they can apply to you to get you off of them. But, being aggressive with Set is very effective so long as you can't get punished TOO hard for it, since he's insanely good from ahead.
@@LassBisharp Honestly Mid is where he's seen most of all right now, he can play every role other than support. In solo you can definitely be aggressive and try to take trades (you need warrior's axe in the solo lane though) but for carry and mid you mostly want to set up ganks for your jungler. The idea of Set in those lanes is that he gives his jungler and by extension himself much more kill potential in lane than most other gods since he himself is an assassin, an assassin who just so happens to be able to clear the wave extremely well as well as safely.
@@LassBisharp you definitely want starter items on all gods, you're at a significant disadvantage early on if you forgo them For Set you want Bluestone in mid and adc, Warriors Axe in solo lane and Eye of the jungle for jungling

I just wanna say, as someone who is trying to get back into smite after not having played in years, these concise videos are invaluable! tysm!!

When I want to learn to play a god. I come to you for your wisdom lol but seriously man you’re my go to. Went 12-5 first time playing set

wait, so after ult u don’t spam the two for the spawns? that’s what i’ve been doing this whole time 😭🤦🏿♂️

I got a question. Do you think Set was based on zed? I personally love playing him but I hate playing zed in league xD
Yeah definitely, use clones to deal double damage with a projectile, can also teleport to the clones.

When you play as Set at the start, should you play safe at the start, or try to hit your opponent as much as possible?

@@Shenmoki i was thinking more for Set in roles other than jungle, like carry or solo. Is Set a character used mostly for jungle? Out of curiosity.

@@LassBisharp you definitely want starter items on all gods, you're at a significant disadvantage early on if you forgo them

when i play idk if im good or if the other team is bad
he's definitely one of those characters lol. i have faith in you though
Build him full ability based w 40% so ur 1 has a 4sec cd.. Rest is fine
