  • This time it's all about the new GrandMA3 selection grid, combined with GrandMA3 MAtricks.
The selection grid is a new and very powerful feature of the GrandMA3 software, and it can be very helpful when you work with your fixture selections.
If you learn to master the selection grid, you will be able to make some very cool GrandMA3 Phaser effects, that would be a little more difficult to make on the older software.
Learning GrandMA 3 selection grid is not difficult, but you need to wrap your head around this new feature.
When you have learned the selection grid, it's a lot easier to apply some GrandMA3 phaser effect to your show, and they can even look like they were very advanced to make 😊
I hope you enjoy the video, and please leave a comment if you have any questions or comments to the video.

To help me better understand my audience, could you please share if you have worked with GrandMA before or if you are brand new to the platform? I would love to structure my content better in the future, so knowing where you come from could possibly help me make better videos 😀

I am brand new to all MA lighting. Currently using Lightkey at my previous church now using Vista 3 at my current church and will be switching to MA 3 as soon as the console comes in!

Hello, you could do a bitmap in Gma2 but it will only work with dimmers and colours. With Gma3 selection grid, you can do movement effects too, wich is nice. Thank you.

Hello! I want to let you know I am a student at Valencia college in their stage tech program and in advanced lighting now. For our final project we just have to do a simple light show and I have found your basic tutorials so helpful. I know there is a lot about the GrandMA console that I do not know about, but these videos have helped in some areas that we did not have to cover. I know I still haven't wrapped my head around tracking and how to properly update cues ( ex if I wanted to change the color of for the whole sequence, or just one cue) I feel like I could sit and ask you SOOO many questions! lol

Thanks for the video. I was wondering if there's a faster way of copying your layout to the selection grid in the same positions like how you meticulously placed at 6:10?

I have different quantities of every fixture type - for example 12 spots and 8 washes. When I get the spots grouped together how I need them with matricks, if I try to +select an additional wash, the spots will revert to being individually selected in the grid, instead of grouped/blocked.
Does anyone have any ideas? My different fixtures will all require different matricks values for me to group them in a way that lets me create uniform all-fixture effects
