    In todays video I cover selecting a place to install your hidden tracker and what you will need to install one. I'm installing the CarLock tracker in my 2022 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6. The install took about 30 minutes using a few of the tools below.
    I want to thank CarLock for sending us another tracker and the CarLock tag. We have been using Carlock for almost 2 years now you can check out our Review from last year here. • The Truth About Carloc...

      @@WorkPlayDriveWhen installing the 🚗 🔒 does it have to be connected to 12v or can you hook it to the battery & run wire to wherever you’ll pick up better detection. Just bought 2 & came in today

    • @WorkPlayDrive

      If you hook it up to the battery, the only requirement is definitely put a fuse as close to the battery as possible, just in case any of your wire short out along the way.

    Good informational video! Does the Carlock complement the Tazer, or are the features of the Carlock redundant if you've already installed a Tazer for PIN coding and other anti-theft?

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The complement each other with no overlap.
      CarLock tracks and silently sends you notifications to your phone. Where the taser helps prevent theft and actually deters it.

    Just bought this device and was looking up installation and review videos and yours were great. Exactly what you said in another video, you didn't just read the box and say it's a great product. You actually put alot of work into these videos👍🏻
    I did have a question since you have 3 at this point, do you need a separate subscription for each device or can it all be on 1 profile for the 10 bucks a month (which is a solid price either way)
    Thanks for your time!

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The app based notifications are included

    @uscstaylor ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question are you paying twice for both trackers. I know its 9.95 a month but would they make you pay for the 2nd one too thanks, also its drawing twice the power now form the car battery when not running. How does that effect the power

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have one subscription for each device, so yes you’re paying for both.
      I’ve got one installed in the Trans Am and one in the ram. The power consumption is not bad. I leave the Trans Am sitting for a few weeks at a time and it’s still starts right up. If I go away on vacation and don’t drive my truck for a few weeks, same experience, it starts right up.
      It also would send a notification when the battery does run low. 👍

      @loisgriffin9269 when adding a fuse you want to use the lowest amperage to support the connected device. if it’s just used for the CarLock use a 3 amp or 5 amp fuse.

    Hello! Great video thank you! Can you clarify for my understanding: By tapping a power cable only, the Carlock device still works even though it's not plugged into the OBD reader (nor via the carlock obd extension cable). How is this possible? So it has power, but how is it connecting to the car's OBD sensor if you've just tapped into a power wire like in this video? thank you!

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      The CarLock only uses the onboard diagnostic port power.
      All the sensors for speed, braking, cornering, acceleration, and impact are built in to the CarLock.

    Finally installed mine a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if there is a bit of a learning period for the device but some of the alerts seem delayed. The vehicle start is generally always on point but the vehicle move sometimes seems to be a delayed alert. Like I have the tightest circle around the vehicle but sometimes I am well outside the circle before the vehicle moved alert occurs. Have you noticed the device get better over time with the alerting based to the vehicle moving?

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it says in the app I remember reading that it takes some time for the Carlock to adjust to your location. The alerts in the video are what I'm experiencing in real-time (I'm not cutting the video to make it appear faster.)

    • @coolwrld302
      @coolwrld302 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WorkPlayDrive Oh I completely believe you are getting the alerts that quick. I get the vehicle start almost immediately, its only the vehicle move that seems like its problematic and the vibration alerts but I think those are more about where I chose to do the install at.

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree. The vibration alerts are really based on where you can stick it. I tried a bunch of different places on the Ram before I settled on just the right spot.
