This is quite funny! I mean, I’ve been playing for 15 years now so I know my shit, but seriously quality BS right here 👌👌👌 If anyone is reading this comment, further tips off this vid: 1. He didn’t mention that he was holding down the damper pedal to sustain the notes he played (so basically he could make all these sounds from the piano without holding down all of those notes). Using the damper pedal would make it sound more professional as this man knew. The damper pedal can be found as the very right pedal on the bottom of the piano. 2. The (major) Arpeggio trick he touched on does not work on all of the white notes, only C, F, and G. The other notes require sharps or flats (black notes) to produce a major arpeggio; however, you can also use this trick on the white notes A, D, and E to get a minor arpeggio. 3. Lean into the piano when your playing things soft and lean away when your playing louder to really convince your friends that you are a pro and you know what you’re doing. I know this works because it’s what I do to impress the boys. Seriously though, great video! This comment wasn’t supposed to sound braggy and cocky at all, just helping to further enhance how to BS crazy mad piano skills 😂😂.

Do I need to go on, or are the great majority of you catching the drift of the unapologetically-HIGH praise that I am happily-heaping onto this video???
Alright, then.
Press “PLAY”.
I’m not going anywhere until you do.
I’ve got all night.
Try me.
The Basil is here!
@Jason Crinklaw You don’t mince words, do you? I wholeheartedly agree. Sean, you are the *MAN!*
I thought it was just me. This is EXACTLY how I fake the piano when I go to someone’s house who has a piano, for I do not. I do tell people after that I faked it. You have a great sense of humor. Also… I say “I’ll play a little F Lydian for ya… it’s mystical” 💫 Good stuff.
F lydian is always the right move :)
As a piano player this was the funniest thing I watched in a while 😂
This is the only piano tutorial that I watched all the way through, without skipping, and enjoyed. A lot. I even got out of bed (it’s 11:30 at night) to hop on my keyboard to try this. I just wanted to thank you for making such a brilliant video! I’m subscribed!
Sean - for us beginner/intermediate guitar players and home recording hobbyists, how about a lesson on how to begin to add or sprinkle some piano or organ into a song, mix, chord progression to make it more interesting? Intros, Outtros, pre-chorus - stuff where you don't need to be a grand player (pun intended) but utilize that midi keyboard.
Great idea!
"Great idea" - Printing to show wife and daughters - where's my refrigerator magnet?
Perfect idea!
Fezzler61 play in “C” and add the for mentioned lesson.
What if they ask you to play it again?
Then you do it again, they won't notice.
or just say it wont be as nice. the uniqueness is what makes things beautiful.
than you havent only faked being good at playing piano but also that you are poetic. genius.
Say alright, but this time I will play it in the key of F,
and play it. . .
"just jammin man, im here speaking my heart"
Sean, you are so funny. I loved watching this video. Thank you for sharing!
Damn dude. You just me a happy fake player. Now I can fake play that when my guitar skills seem to go on vacation and I need a musical break. I'm glad old videos never die.
Rock On Groovy One!
LOL...you'll look great until someone who actually plays piano comes along. 😀
Pffft, what are the odds?
You'll still look good, they'll just know your are full of it. Like anything... DENY DENY DENY, it's all in how you carry yourself.
YEP. That hand position looks painful. Whatever happened to the ARCH?
Andy Mann,
Aka me, I’ve been doing piano since 2nd grade
As a piano player i see right through this
Even if you wont put this to use, gotta give it to the dude, it's a hilarious video.
You can sit on piano and with a sophisticated face just say "I'm gonna improvise in the key of B#" which is technically the key of C.😎😂
#classy
oh yeah true
It is not D:
@@skorp5677 it is tho
well i'm doing this
Music, something fake, a little technology, a lot of martial arts reference, and a central character who doesn't look any too clean. That's a TH-cam pentathlon. Well done!
I really strive for that.
this had me pulling chicks all night long. thanks for getting me out of my mom's basement.
My guy!
Ha! Gayeee !!
Simply Human good times...
I just can't stop laughing... Actually the kind of tutorial I need to keep watching... I'm a subscriber 😂😂😂
Welcome to the party!
there's a big element of humor in this, and i love it !!!
Thanks for saying so!
It is hilarious. I particularly like 'remembering something from the past'.
... At some point one can also add 'Welcome... to the Starlight Lounge. I'll be here into the small hours, playing some of your smooth jazz favourites'.
You have helped me a lot. I have an amputated fingerr and have been under the impression that I would never be able to play the piano. I played the saxophone and had to have the F pad custon extended on my 1913 CONN Alto sax. The shop did a great job of finding a similar sax to cannibalize so I don't have a mixture of time elements involved in my instrument. It took a long time to relearn the timing with playing notes when involved in playing with a nubb of a finger. I don't see why I couldn't learn to play the piano now. Thank you!
Man I seen quite a few of your videos and always appreciate the experience and knowledge but this one really funny, and i guarantee comes in handy at some point
My Mom wants me to learn the piano. You made it so simple for me! Thank you! ^~^
5:26 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Ya got me
Thanks for watching!
Yep
As someone who has dedicated most of their life to practicing and obsessing unhealthily about music, I love this video
I actually learned more than I thought I would. Hell, I learned more from this few minute video than I have from my music teacher in a whole year!
So cool to hear it was helpful!
Sean Daniel omg wow. No one's ever replied to me before I feel special!!!
@@Meep142 he literally replied to everyone I guess
Whatever I do, I always end up playing Still Dre.
Could be worse :)
Sameee 💀💀
Yo same! I just got a keyboard and have been playing that so much I can’t believe other people are doing the same thing it seems so random 😂
At least you dont act like you forgot about dre.
wait.. im not? the? only? one?
As a pianist myself, *this is genius.*
Thanks so much!
when i need timely reminders as a jobbing synth blagger I always turn to you Sean and refresh myself with your charming essential piano life skills many a time its saved my hide in the quest for the blagging holy grail of joining in a jam ! you make it fun and add confidence and grace to your poker face ! nICE !
I play guitar and this is exactly how I fake piano. It is uncanny.
Musician: me, sees *fake* musician and realizes. I should’ve learned from this genius
:)
You end every sentence with a vowel sound. It's fascinating.
This is literally the only piano tutorial that I watched all the way through and enjoyed. It’s 10:30 I even got up out of bed to try these things. I just want to thank you for making such a brilliant video :))
Don't even say you're playing in B flat-pretend to think really hard and say something like "I think I'll play in D Dorian"
The more pretentious the better!
I also tell people I'm playing in B# instead of C :-D
Take it even further and tell them it's C# triple flat :D
Today i shall be performing in F Junior
I will now play in “H sharp flat minor Dorian major”
I love this tutorial, it's hilarious! I've already learned how to play piano as a kid/teen but compared with many, I'm preeety average. I understood everything in your video on a technical level - but it's actually really clever! It makes me want to compose something haha... and 'sway back and forth' while doing it 😂
6:01 "then make sure you sway back and forth like you really feeling it, like you really have a deep understanding of what's going on here..." lol :D
Classic.
After spending years learning all of Chopin's Etudes and Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies, this video taught me to forget them all and C-Major arpeggio my way through family gatherings!
I feel like there is a real music lesson hidden in here somewhere, very clever. I don't know enough about music to know what it was lmao, but still, thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!!
Yes. It has to do with the Harmonic Series... :^D
yes, there is an actual lesson! nicely done!
exactly what i needed, thought i was super cool when i figured out that layered chord thingy when i was a teenager
And you're still super cool!
Omg this video was amazing! It was funny how you explained things but I also learned a lot! I’m gonna look so sophisticated now lol 😂
I’ve gotten halfway through the video before having the thought I’ve been playing the piano for about ten years now and thinking about why on earth I clicked on the video and have continued to watch it
