Although Chris was the original fitness influencer I followed and he really inspired me to start my fitness journey, I ended up blocking him completely for various reasons. First, he got into a very weird petty fight with other fitness influencers which was stupid. Second, I was getting injured all of the time of his workouts. I think it relates to the amount of sets that Dr. Mike points out. I was working out to the point of exhaustion and was not able to recover. Chris' workouts at the time had to do with showing how great he is, not really providing good guidance. I would classify Chris as a fitness model, not someone to provide guidance in lifting, getting stronger or being more fit. It appears he has no education, no qualifications and does not consult with others. I've made great progress since I blocked Chris Heria. No joke.

I don't really care what other pro ppl saying, they weren't an inspiration for millions of viewers, but Chris was and still is. No hate to them but i often find quire a few "pro" category people in various spheres, not only in sport, to be extremely braggy and arrogant for no real reason. So he might not be the best as an athlete (though still looks better than 99% of men) but this is not what i was looking for either
Chris is a good calisthenics athlete and a world famous social media influencer but he ain't a calisthenics legend, some legends of calisthenics are HannibalForKing, Zef Makaveli, Pere Coll, Daniels Laizans, Dejan Stipke, Matthew Zlat, Daniel Hristov for some world top calisthenics athletes legends. And for the strongest calisthenics word famous social media influencer is probably Andry Strong. Chris makes good training videos and they are entertaining but is level is great but not among world top level.

i wanna ask dr mike abt something i think ive done for years, that i found very useful. i used to (still can to a degree) release adrenaline with breathing forced, and focusing. i started sweating after a couple sec's and bodytemp went up, twitch activated and pupile dilation, then hard contraction. this gained me probably 10% strength and endurance for sets. i never see anyone discussing stuff like that for weighttraining, and seems to me its an untapped arena for gains of espess strength?
Been going to the gym for well over 10 years at this point, got to say during the pandemic I was going crazy being stuck at home as the gym has always been a "me time" place for me. I'm aiming for 100kg before I turn 16 years old!
"do you do calisthenics" is a nice way to say "you have no legs"
Yeah but upper body is probably aesthetic as hell
having no legs is better than suffering in leg day tbh, i do it just cuz if i don't i feel guilty haha
I do calisthenics only . I went to the gym last week for the first attempt I squatted 225 for 5 reps on my first try ...don't make blanket statements you just sound silly
@ working legs does suck, especially in high rep ranges.
@ is 225 supposed to be heavy? I grew up on a farm and deadlifted 405 my first time ever deadlifting lol
FINALLY! waited for this for so long.
“I’m a married spud….im a married spud”
I still remember when Dr. Mike liked my tweet!
15 minutes ago on X.
Good times 😂
Almost an hour ago already 😮
Time flies!
@MikeCauchiArt that's a fair point, gone are the days when this was still only 15 minutes old!
If we learned anything today it's that time is fleeting 🥲🤭
Wow 4 hours already, I still remember it like it was 15 minutes ago
@@PeterPeter-rl9vn those were better times! 😂
Great review, Doc! The punchlines were on point as always!
No joke.
Similar for me too.
Don’t know of him personally but I’d guess to do these balls out calisrhenics workouts as your main workout it helps to be
@@HkFinn83 Good guess. At the time I started I was 48 and fat as eff ... obese as a matter of fact. I'm not now. So it's not all bad.
@@JRRichards123 well after seeing you say ur age and previous condition i think u were just the exception, he can't include every and each piece of info in a video, especially considering that his audience are young and just want to get in decent shape so nothing crazy, i understand where u coming from but this is a bit your fault since u should have listened to your body and adjusted the workout to suit it, anyways congrats of getting healthier and for context i owe the start of my bodybuilding journey to chris, he inspired me so much man, but i adjusted his workouts to suit me more when i started, and it helped that i was young (18), anyways, cheers mate.
Ive been running Herias routines for years and their fantastic!
On you? That Brianny shirt is the hardest shit ive ever fuckin seen.
love this one! been a looong time follower of chris and he got me into calisthenics
i always thought your opinion on him would be interesting.
Chris is a true legend in calisthenics
A lot of calisthenics guys call him a fraud, why's that?
@@MatadorTheGreat idk, I followed his workout for 3 years and can do basic calisthenics movements, have the best physique of my life, and my cardio also gone up drastically, so to me his advice is solid. And he's legit one of the first and one of biggest inspiration for ppl to start getting into fitness and calisthenics, that's for sure.
@@MatadorTheGreat There´s been quite a lot of controversy because of him not being profesional with other youtubers and kind of a douchbag only caring for his content and not at all for the people he is working with. Outside of that I admit his content is very decent and easy to understand for the average viewer, but totally not the most educational and well thaught. He was one of the people that got me into fitness and calisthenics but once you understand the basics his content is not that usefull anymore, he just reapeats the basic stuff over and over in a very aesthetic format that get the clicks.
@@FelipeBerioyou are right "once you learned the basics, his content is not that useful anymore". Which can be said about almost any fitness blogger. You don't have to study for 10 years to lift weights properly. Once you understand the principle and have some experience you don't really need all these guys on the internet
The reason people continue to watch them is because they simply like)
Chris got me into training like 6 years ago and i still watch his vlogs, collabs and other not so much focused on training videos just because i like.
Wtf was that sound at 20:12? Lol
😂
Turkey burgers
Every dr. Mike upload just makes my day better, he’s such a genuinely intelligent goofy guy
1:54 what type of stimulus would 10 minutes of wrist curls be?
Cardio
Cartilages consuming range
been waiting for this one!
Yooo, Dr. Mike entering my territory :D
Oh hey, it's the small but strong calisthenics doctor.
Wazzaaaaa. Just as tall as my boy Mike
Last 3 weeks I was manifesting this video. Thanks Mike and the video guy ❤❤❤
5:20 I feel attacked. How did you know
As a person who does weight lifting and calisthenics I've been waiting for this one. Chris took my calisthenics to the next level
wtf are these t-shirts the Dr. keeps wearing?
He was the guy that got me into training.
Also his calisthenics app is actually useful as fuck too.
Cool video

mike can you go to slow on the esentric
i wanna ask dr mike abt something i think ive done for years, that i found very useful.
i used to (still can to a degree) release adrenaline with breathing forced, and focusing. i started sweating after a couple sec's and bodytemp went up, twitch activated and pupile dilation, then hard contraction. this gained me probably 10% strength and endurance for sets. i never see anyone discussing stuff like that for weighttraining, and seems to me its an untapped arena for gains of espess strength?
your videos are stress buster , i watch after workout instead of before
can someone find the vid of mike screaming in leg extensions lol
when he finnaly hit failureLMFAO
It was actually leg curls btw.
Hi, I'd love to see you review Nimai Delgado next. Really appreciating your content and advice!
i miked my mike to this
Those tattoos are awful.
thank you so much for not having the moving borders on the video he's watching, gives me a headache
First
I watch both guys, glad to finally see this crossover.
Been going to the gym for well over 10 years at this point, got to say during the pandemic I was going crazy being stuck at home as the gym has always been a "me time" place for me. Found Chris while looking for alternatives, add to that one of those outside gyms that have some racks and those machines that use your own weight, and lastly a weighted vest, and I was able to stay healthy and sane for the better part of the year.
Chris is the reason Why I started training with calisthenics and 5 years later , still loving it
omg he was my first fitness chanel i followed! Love chris!
