Holy Saint Mary of Egypt, pray for me, a lustful sinner.
Pray to God yourself!
@@MeTooMan why should the Saints, those who have directly experienced God and have been made a dwelling for the Holy Spirit, be barred from praying for us sinners?
Don’t forget the prayer:
“Most Holy Theotokos, never will we cease to speak of thy all-holy and all-powerful prayers!”
@@Isaac-b7o2rwhere does the Bible say we should pray to men?
@@MeTooMan “We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses”
Pray for us Saint John Chrysostom. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us all
Pray to God yourself!
@@MeTooManStop cringing. Holy people who died in Jesus name are worth to say their name. Jesus Mother was not just some women that was randomly choosen. She was the most holy of all women that time
@@MeTooMan He just did, can't you read? 😂💀
@@AluminiumT6 you really don’t understand my point? Or are you just being froward?
@@mmr1137 necromancy.
Every word is true.
He really really hit hard with those last lines we need to repent
Today society and morals are confused, wives refuse their husbands and don't submit to their head... so even in marriage nothing is granted automatically
Old testament laws for adultery are completely justifiable. It's one of the worst of sins, not only against yourself but against every member of your family.
Yes, anon, I have paid a heavy price for my past sins. Glory to God for His mercy and love.
@@danielgaley9676 blessed Lent brother.
Many fall into the sin of fornication. The worst sin that does not leave a person until the last second of life.
Myself included. Lord, lord have mercy🙏
What do you mean it last until the last second of our life?
@@dimitrytsalinka7203he probably means the temptation will follow us until the last day of our life.
@@dimitrytsalinka7203
That demon of fornication does not leave a person until death. That is, a person fights with it until the end. It is one of the 7 deadly sins. Very dangerous. But with God's help, fasting and prayer, confession, man emerges victorious.
@@pajcka ooh i thought you were saying it was unforgivable even if we brought it to the confession
What happens when the wife does not subdue husbands passions intentionally for years? Doubt that happened back in the biblical times somehow.
You should both go to confession with the same experienced spiritual father who can help you overcome certain marital difficulties. That’s why the priests in the Orthodox Church are married.
Thank.🙏
And what is with the 80% of women who invoke divorce because they are bored?
I don't think that statistic is real, which should be a relief.
@@vaskaventi6840 Regretfully it is, just look up divorce stats in Russia(supposedly Orthodox Christian country) year by year, it hovers around 70-80%
This channel is such a breath of fresh air. So good. Certain other puritanical Orthodox channels are wrong on many matters of sexual relations within marriage. This is what my wife and I follow…this Saint and Saint Paul. Thank you
Unfortunately you've come to a conclusion that isn't correct. This is a correct teaching on why we don't stray into adultery. But to use it to ignore the teaching of the saints concerning chastity and purity within the confines of a Christian marriage is simply wrong. The virtuous life is not obtained through acting as if the teaching of the saints is a buffet where we take the sweet and leave the vegetables, feeding desires and passions. We take the conciliatory teaching to build our lives in Christ. This is orthodoxy, not Hinduism.
And St John is a wonderful saint to follow, but it's apparent that you haven't bothered to spend much time reading him. Dig in and in 3 years you'll discover a phromena developing that will change your understanding of the faith in a positive way.
@@billybenson3834 You’re making some grave assumptions about the details of my comment. You’re exactly right: we cannot pick and choose. The totality of the Church and her dogma is what matters. There are matters of salvation and then matters of everything else. This is Orthodoxy…and I will be a student of the Master and His church for my lifetime. Thanks for the input.
@@xxFairestxx specifically which channel do you call "puritanical orthodox"?
Simply put, husband and wife separate during fasting, they do not sleep together for prayer, fasting, etc.@@xxFairestxx
What is the name of the chant
i also wonder
It’s just psalm 142 sung at every vespers
❤️☦️
"You shall know them by their fruits"
Divorce rate in orthodox countries up to 60%
"Healer, heal thyself"
Before you judge, know that the Orthodox countries were under forced islamization for 10 centuries, then came communism and then came secularism.
@@holyresurrectionofchristI’m a Protestant and I agree. You’re being too quick to judge. I say this out of love and edification, not judgement. The world is fallen and America where I live is not much better then Orthodox countries. In fact in many other regards it’s much worse!!!! We live in the world, but we are called not to be like the World. That said it doesn’t mean we don’t all make mistakes, and stumble because we do. We have to remember to take the plank out of our own eye before judging our brother for the sliver in his. We are called to be holy and that takes serious work! It’s not easy to be a True Follower of Christ, but we must bear our cross everyday and follow after Him. We must humble ourselves before God. Let’s be slow to judge and show patience, kindness, and love like Christ our Lord did and still does. There’s a time and place and the right way to judge or correct, and throwing out statistics on a country wide level isn’t the right way. Technically U.S is a “Christian” country and look at us. You may be right about it being an issue in orthodox countries but this wasn’t the right way to go about it brother. 🙏✝️🙏
@@holyresurrectionofchrist I am stating facts, judgement is advisory
Islamic divorce rates are below 10%
Communism taxed the unmarried
@@King_of_Blades who are we to quote righteous men from 1000 years ago when most young men in churches watch pornography rather than getting married?
Is there no redemption for adultery?
Yes, repentance by living a celibate life or chaste marriage.
@jessemiller6318 I have wept bitterly and repent every day.
Continue to do so, but do not despair
@@jessemiller6318I would refine what you said and say: “a celibate (monastic) life or a chaste marriage”. Celibates in the world are not a norm in the Orthodox Church. So many problems with the Roman Catholics arise because of this idea of a celibate person in the world which easily leads to temptation.
It is a struggle with passions. With fallen nature. Of course there is redemption.
