I'm from America and I've never heard anyone use the phrase "glass him," but my immediate thought was that it would involve a glass meeting the other guys head in one way or another. I was surprised when smashing the glass against the guy was the "unexpected" response.
Um, I'm from the US and I've literally never the term "Glass him" until the Wolf Among Us, but I assumed it meant hit him with a glass. Then again, I'm not the type of guy who drinks at bars or clubs, so maybe that's the reason I've never heard it.
@@cainekass Apparently I'm both right and wrong depending on where you're from/are at the time, but my assumption of what it meant here was accurate at least. Good thing I heard it in a game and not at an actual bar IRL for the first time or I would've been leaving this comment from a prison cell.
@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince US as well. I never played the game, but upon hearing the phrase "glass him" I definitely assumed it was a violent choice. But that's more because the only time I've ever heard glass used as a verb is in reference to super powerful bombs "glass 'em" (turning sand into glass), so I figured it would end with you utterly wrecking the guy.
You know, this video could also be titled "Emily is Away Gameplay," Because it is pretty much solely consisted of the character your playing not saying what you want them to say. Anyone who's seen gameplay or played it would absolutely agree with me lmao
Going into this video, the first game interaction I thought of (and apparently I guess me being American has a huge part to play in that) was literally the number one!!! Because I remember so well playing The Wolf Among Us for the second time trying to get the good ending. So I took me WAAAAAAAY off guard when I thought I was going to buy the woodsmen a drink to show him that I understand how hard life is now that we're all out of the books and alive and dealing with everyday crazy bullshit. To my complete and utter shocking surprise [Glass Him] DID NOT mean to buy my fellow storybook friend a much needed drink... But instead cracking him in the face with a whiskey timber!!!
Yeah..."Glass him" fooled me too the first time. "Jeez, he's messed up. Hmm...I'll buy him a beer." ~glass him~ "Oh...I didn't....that wasn't....yeah, I'm going back and doing that again."
Jules, you perpetually erect man, the next list should be this: Top 10 remakes where the original was better Examples: The World Ends with You (mobile/Switch) Secret of Mana (PS4)
Jules bro... I really appreciate your words of encouragement in your videos. I always look forward to your charismatic presentations. So the words of wisdom is just the icing on the cake.
Jules, you perpetually erect man, thank you for including SWTOR in your list. As the video progressed through the earlier examples, I kept flashing back to times in SWTOR where my own response was, “Wait, what? No, I wasn’t trying to insult you/your mother/your life choices.” As such, I was delighted to no end to see it pop up in the list. Last but not least, thank you for the positive energy you’re putting out there in the world at the end of each video.
I remember playing a novel game that pissed me off. When I chose to say hello to someone, text came up saying that I was jealous of them and hated them. WHAT?!! Lol 😄
The 'sigh' dialogue option did EXACTLY what I expected it to do. No negotiating with the idiots, just taking care of the problem as quickly as possible.
I don't really have experience in this area, the only RPG I've ever played it Knights of the Old Republic (which came out prior to the player character actually speaking) and I've only ever seen choices in more modern RPGs from compilations of funny lines from certain games/character classes. One of the things I like in the aforementioned SWTOR entry is how a lot of the time dialogue options fit into the following categories: Good Guy, Cartoon Villain and Palpatine Troll... especially for the Sith Classes.
Thank you very much for that final message to all who watched the video!! We all need to be reminded every now and then, that people do care about others and to never lose hope!!!
Uhh.... in what part of north america does "Glass him" mean buy a drink? Between RL weapons and video game weapons, my first thought would have been "Turn him into glass with some sort of high powered energy weapon"
Jules, you perpetually erect man, make a list about video game franchises that never got the ending/sequel they deserved (like KOTOR III, Forced Unleashed III, Dead Space 4 etc).
@@bronsoncarder2491 of course Half-Life 3 as well, just gave some examples. I bet there are dozens of great games that didn't get another another chance to shine. Perhaps WhatCulture will make a list on this and we'll find out more.
it was pretty hilarious on the Two Best Friends Play (Canadians) playthrough of Wolf Among Us when they got to that point and went "'Glass him'? What the hell does that mean? Does it mean... buy him a drink? Yeah, let's buy him a drink, he's had a rough day." and then their reaction to what happened next
This was one of the more entertaining and enthusiastic WC videos I've seen in a while. I'd like to see Simon Miller and Josh Gill do a cross-branding video list about wrestling video games...not sure what the list would specifically talk about. Inaccuracies in the game compared to the characters being portrayed (like everyone in WWF RAW (16 Bit generation) having the option to choke an opponent, not just the heels). But the combined enthusiasm of the pairing would be absolutely off the charts!
I've never really understood why RPG developers like Bethesda and Bioware don't find a compromise between the paraphrasing and full dialogue text options. I mean, it doesn't seem that difficult to solve to me. I understand that the "dialogue wheel" we see now in most RPGs can be nice in that it can clear up the UI area during conversations and you don't have a cumbersome text box filling up the lower third of the screen. But why not have the dialogue wheel with the paraphrased responses showing like we see in the Mass Effect series and second and third Dragon Age games, but then when you mouse over or highlight and option it can display a full display of the text before you select it?

I'm from America and I've never heard anyone use the phrase "glass him," but my immediate thought was that it would involve a glass meeting the other guys head in one way or another. I was surprised when smashing the glass against the guy was the "unexpected" response.
Um, I'm from the US and I've literally never the term "Glass him" until the Wolf Among Us, but I assumed it meant hit him with a glass. Then again, I'm not the type of guy who drinks at bars or clubs, so maybe that's the reason I've never heard it.
No you're right.
I'm from the US and I've definitely heard it before
Here in Australia it’s a very common term
Witcher 3 breaking Dijkstras leg incoming
Yeah the dialogue option was something like "push to the side"
Literally the first one. Good call. Lol
It was a proportionate response
Remind me never to say “glass me” in the UK
Never say "glass me" in the UK
Never say ‘glass me’ in the UK
Never say 'glass me' in the UK
Never say “glass me” in the UK
Never say "glass me" in the UK
I have never heard ANYONE use the phrase "Glass him" as a term for serving food, when i saw this choice i knew EXACTLY what it was.

Lol no it's a joke about how words that end with an s are pronounced when using their possessive form. At least in English.
Top 10 video games where the villains defeat ended up being unsatisfying
You know, this video could also be titled "Emily is Away Gameplay," Because it is pretty much solely consisted of the character your playing not saying what you want them to say. Anyone who's seen gameplay or played it would absolutely agree with me lmao
Times companions "died/disappeared" and came back as enemies later
I'll never forgive Spider from Megaman X: Command Mission for this
Going into this video, the first game interaction I thought of (and apparently I guess me being American has a huge part to play in that) was literally the number one!!!
Jules, you legendary legume! Make a video about the worlds that you would be happy to be an NPC in.
Yes.
Yeah..."Glass him" fooled me too the first time.
"Jeez, he's messed up. Hmm...I'll buy him a beer." ~glass him~
"Oh...I didn't....that wasn't....yeah, I'm going back and doing that again."
Jules, you perpetually erect man, the next list should be this:
Top 10 remakes where the original was better
Examples:
The World Ends with You (mobile/Switch)
Secret of Mana (PS4)
Lesson learned. When you visit Poland and someone comes to you screaming "im gonna shove you away forcefully" .. turn back and run like hell.
This explains why I reflexively quick save before every conversation.
“So you have chosen... death...”

WHAT?!! Lol 😄
Basically any "sarcasm" options in fallout 4, to be honest.
Knights of old republic. Man in locker "Insert light saber into locker" hmm must unlock door "nuahhhhhh" oh oops
The 'sigh' dialogue option did EXACTLY what I expected it to do. No negotiating with the idiots, just taking care of the problem as quickly as possible.
top 10 moments that made you question the game your playing
I don't really have experience in this area, the only RPG I've ever played it Knights of the Old Republic (which came out prior to the player character actually speaking) and I've only ever seen choices in more modern RPGs from compilations of funny lines from certain games/character classes.
One of the things I like in the aforementioned SWTOR entry is how a lot of the time dialogue options fit into the following categories: Good Guy, Cartoon Villain and Palpatine Troll... especially for the Sith Classes.
My issue with the original KotOR, also Neverwinter Kinghts 2, was the "evil" option was frequently also the "skip lore option".
"Glass him"
Remember Reach.
I 'member!

Actually Geralt beating him up like that is a direct reference to Time of Contempt, so if you read the books, you might have seen it coming!
Never heard the phrase "glass him" ever. I live in the US.

10 choices that didnt matter what dialogue picked it just ended the same way
Uhh.... in what part of north america does "Glass him" mean buy a drink? Between RL weapons and video game weapons, my first thought would have been "Turn him into glass with some sort of high powered energy weapon"
What about games that change the most with your different choices
“Glass him” is a joke rather figurative meaning, as serve him a glass 🥃 but on his head 😄
In the U.S. it mean kill him. Least where I'm from.
Jules, you perpetually erect man, make a list about video game franchises that never got the ending/sequel they deserved (like KOTOR III, Forced Unleashed III, Dead Space 4 etc).
Lmao did you seriously just make a list of video game sequels, and DIDN'T include Half-Life 3?
Half-Life 3 confirmed.
@@bronsoncarder2491 of course Half-Life 3 as well, just gave some examples. I bet there are dozens of great games that didn't get another another chance to shine. Perhaps WhatCulture will make a list on this and we'll find out more.
Baulders gate: dark alliance 3; Jak & dexter 4 (if not counting jak X); yeah, this would be a good topic...
it was pretty hilarious on the Two Best Friends Play (Canadians) playthrough of Wolf Among Us when they got to that point and went "'Glass him'? What the hell does that mean? Does it mean... buy him a drink? Yeah, let's buy him a drink, he's had a rough day." and then their reaction to what happened next
it could be that people are thinking of the phrase "beer me" and interpreting it that way, I guess
Ok, here is one, most satisfying gun reload sounds from games.
I have never, ever heard someone say "Glass him", and I'm a bartender.
Oh, I was rude to Solace the whole game because I never trusted him and I turned out to be right because he was the real villain the whole game.
There's about 30 of these every ten minutes in assassin's Creed odyssey
Yes like in a side quest you are told to kill a cultist but then you have to kill a innocent woman
