Glad you are back - but this video kinda needs part two where we could actually paint alongside you - maybe an inspiration for the future? I love painting or drawing alongside you - your video about watercolour was so good I made my own bookmarks inspired by your artwork. I would love to see a flipthrough of your art journals as well... your style has changed a lot thourough the years and it's so interesting to watch someone's art journey unveiling and developing as you go and pick your path. Love your work - it's so gentle and yet so bold... hard to describe, but it's something what I'm missing in the art world now - some kind of simplicity and certainty and gentle, muted, soft colours...
I looked at a research study Golden did for their acrylics a while back testing the adhession of acrylic paints when diluted with water Their results from multiple different tests with multiple different scenarios showed that diluting acrylics with water actually doesn't affect it's adhession I got worried about this myself a while ago so I started doing some research and stumbled upon Golden's study on this matter and it gave me a huge peace of mind 😄 Granted, the study was on their own brand of acrylics.. But most acrylics use a similar binder, so I don't worry too much about mixing water into my acrylics anymore
I love this! I would recommend using a Sharpie on the lids to remember which colors you used in each container. Also I would love a tutorial on the woven painting!
Thank you for your videos! The longer ones you've been making recently are such a treat. I find them sooo inspiring, and I learn so much about different mediums, and ideas. I also really enjoy seeing the colours you work with- they're not colours I usually gravitate towards, and I absolutely love seeing what you create with them! I would love a sketchbook tour! I'd also find it really interesting seeing how you pull inspiration from different places. Thank you for making such lovely content :)
I've been interested in acrylics since using them in school, but I absolutely hated how fast they dry. Thanks for showing your container storage idea, and also your paintings, it makes me want to start painting again!
What a treat! Thank you so much for this… you’re so calm, apart from being very creative… Well organized video I must say. Yes I would very much like to see how you did the “woven“ piece in one of your next videos.
Loved this video! Thank you so much for sharing your materials and how you got started with this medium. Also, your early work reminds me of Sandi Hester who is one of my favorite artists and TH-cam creators! ❤Beautiful!
I love you colour palettes! Always have. I'm kind of turned off by acrylic paint because of the amount of waste it creates. I have a bunch of tubes I bought on a whim and I can't bring myself to use them because when I finish my trashcan is full of paper towels, old sticks, plus the paint water is full of microplastics. I even tried to filter the water with the process suggested by Golden, but it's complicated and I don't have the space. But that palette with little cups might be the trick at least to use my current paints. Also, there are some plastic palettes for acrylic that are "peel off", when you finish, you just peel off the dried paint instead of using disposable paper palettes. Your art is beautiful and it shows you have a lot of experience from your digital art making to keep a consistent look in your new artwork!
Thanks so much for your kind words! I will look into the peel off palettes, that might be a good solution if i go pack to using paint in that way! Also I've never heard about the water filtering, I'll have to do some research because I too hate the waste that comes with acrylics. Ty for the helpful info! ❤
I might just go ahead and finally use the acrylic paints I’ve been saving after watching this. I also like having an easy, no fuss set up. Can you please let me know what size those condiment containers are? Also, what does the gesso do for the surfaces? Thank you.
Very useful information. I primarily work with textiles (i.e. silk and cotton floss on linen) and love coming up with interesting color combinations. I have used acrylics in the past but did not know the basics, so this video was very useful. I was intrigued by your collages with the "cut outs". One question though. How do you affix the paper cut outs to the paper/canvas/wood surfaces? Do you use a spray adhesive or some type of glue?
This video was helpful even for me!!!! Especially for someone who’s an intermediate when it comes to Acrylic painting! Have you thought about trying the Royal Talens Amsterdam Acrylic paint? They are affordable and come in a variety of colors?!
If you use fluid acrylics you might like not having to mix in medium for every colour. I also recommend using a palette knife to save on needing so many popsicle sticks!
I love your art so much Jordan. I'd love a video on your creative process and inspirations.
Thank you so much! And thanks for the video idea, I'll add that to the list ❤

Wax paper and parchment paper from the kitchen are good palettes.
I love your videos! Would love to see video about how to do the wealven picture xx
Thank you I needed this video it helped so much.

Great video! Where is your desk from?

I used PVA glue and brushed it on the back of the paper with a foam brush. It's a little bit finicky but seemed to do the job!
This video was helpful even for me!!!! Especially for someone who’s an intermediate when it comes to Acrylic painting! Have you thought about trying the Royal Talens Amsterdam Acrylic paint? They are affordable and come in a variety of colors?!
Yay so glad you liked the video! ❤ I haven't tried that brand, I will have to look for it next time I'm at the art store!
We need a hair tutorial! Love your curls ❤
15:05 freezer paper is a good alternative, probably much cheaper :)
