After more than a year learning about MBTI, watching videos and reading articles, this video still helped me to better understand the concepts of Ti, Te, Fi and Fe. Every new approach helps, so thanks.

You're welcome! That's what I like about MBTI. There's no "be all end all" interpretation, every new angle creates further discoveries and ways of understanding. Appreciate it.

If you think arguing with an INTP is difficult or frustrating imaging how difficult and frustrating it is for an INTP to argue with non-Ti users.

Lol! Imagine how difficult it is when two introverted thinkers are arguing.

Love your vids! As an ENFJ I noticed that I have introverted thinking as my weakest cognitive function but I do use it though but your right id probably agree with the intro feelers if I didn’t have my argument conceptualized in the moment.

An excerpt from “Gifts Differing”: “Thinking is not always first class thinking. It’s product is no better than the facts it started with and no better than the logic employed. The thinker’s judgement could be wrong! Thinkers often contradict each other, each one claiming, “This is truth.” The feeling type need only say, “This is valuable to me.”

When you think about it, Ti is not necessarily accurate. But it is at least logically consistent. So when arguments are based on nothing but truth, the conclusion of ti will be accurate. But if there are any false assumptions or bad information, then ti is doomed to be inaccurate (though still very precise). I like the explanation of Te. It is more about using the thoughts rather than testing the thoughts themselves. So it can be said that Ti is deductive reasoning and Te is inductive reasoning. I do not care for your explanation of Fi or Fe. Fi will approach arguments by deciding things based on how they personally feel about them. Fe cares about how everybody else feels about them. This is not to say that feeling deciders do not think. Fe is linked to Ti. So Fe users can use logic, but they just prioritize other people's emotional responses ahead of it. If we consider arguments realistically, then we realize that a measure of thinking and feeling is required to make good decisions. I am an introverted thinker, and I've only recently realized that there are some times when I'm allowed to enjoy things without any conscious reason. That is, I simply do. And when you break things down to a fundamental level, everything is decided based upon subjective feelings regarding good and bad. That said, it is irresponsible and counterproductive to hold conflicting opinions. So a measure of thought is required to ensure consistency. I think that that is what Ti users really want in the end. Just think about it. Introverted thinkers can discern the values which logically belong together, but require an introverted feeler's judgements on good and bad because they don't know how they themselves feel one way or the other. On the other end, introverted feelers have their own value system, but require the thoughts of others to help them refine their values and be consistent. Extraverted feelers are the Fe/Ti deciders who care more about keeping everybody happy all the time than staying perfectly consistent. Extraverted thinkers are Te/Fi deciders who care more about what others think is consistent than what they personally feel is right. That's why they're so efficient and can absorb thoughts very quickly. It's important to realize that this is just how people decide things most of the time. Nobody is completely thinking or feeling, but they will usually be either a Fe/Ti or a Te/Fi decider. That is, people usually won't use Ti or Fe one second and Te or Fi the next.

"Extraverted thinkers are Te/Fi deciders who care more about what others think is consistent than what they personally feel is right. That's why they're so efficient and can absorb thoughts very quickly."
Disagree; intuition comes first (intj) - then following that info we get to see the discrepancy in structure/thinking - Don't care what others think - especially if their logic is flawed - would be the first to disagree, point out the flaws and stand my ground if I think it important.
a bucket? No no nooo that would imply indiscriminate facts (hopefully) mashed up together. We extraverted thinkers get our arguments from branched structures we formed way before, based on facts & values and or the quality of the structures we on the spot detect underneath. Think more like constellations where we see how it is all connected.

My mom is *ESFJ*, I am *INTP* .
💥 When we argue, this is WAR. 🙄
As she becomes judgmental and emotional... And I point her lacks in arguments... Which only drive her more emotional and crazy about me not UNDERSTANDING HER FEELINGS. And when I say, that I do, it ends with me, shrugging *You don't think logically.* and her fuming. 🤷🏻‍♀️

a lot of Fi focusses on their own personal morals. Usually will get upset when someone has crossed a boundary or done something they see as morally wrong. Usually upset at bureaucratic systems that technically work but don't really help people with conviction or immediacy- no heart. Like in the healthcare system today imo. Valuing personal gain and materialistic things or one's self image over the welfare of another human being will really piss off an Fi user or anyone who really values Fi or Fe.
A lot of Ti and Te people I know are very self focused on their own personal growth or gain. 2 of the 3 intps I've known have been really invested in learning about finance and becoming rich. When this is at the expense of other people or in consideration to someone else , it can come off pretty inconsiderate. Ti can seem arrogant because it doesnt trust anyone else's references or method of forming their opinion.. (which I totally get) making others feel downgraded to being dumb or simpleminded,
but Fi can seem selfish too since they are not going to hide how they feel for anybody- even if what they think hurts others feelings. They are going to stand up for the morality they believe in no matter what.
I watched your ISFP which i'm thinking maybe I am- and when you said that they can sometimes get in that Te grip and fantasize about telling their peers in anger what they really feel and how things really are- just going off - rip I really felt that. Something that I'd probably only do or communicate if I was either very concerned or very angry. Usually value harmony and try to let everyone have their own pace at growth in whatever dynamic that is.
anyway , just started watching your videos and I like them!

I like the breakdown, but as an INFJ with Ti as my third function, I think you oversimplified Fe argumentation. Fe users aren’t necessarily followers, they just realize that what the public feels does hold merit, in terms of making progress or creating change. A lot of Fe users I know argue what they know others may feel; whether they agree with it or not is a whole separate issue. I think u made good points but there is a lot of bias in this video. In the future I’d advise rewording things. Even if you feel negatively about something, there is always a more positive or neutral way of conveying the idea.

So the thing with Ti users is that it is a super slow process (meticulous and detailed) and although valuable, TI users such as INTPs, are working with half truths until they reach a “full truth” about something... basically, ain’t no one got time for that! 😆 I mean the guy below making fun of Fi-users and Fe-users with glitter and happy... okay, if that’s your Ti argument. Just because Ti users hold the partial truth until they can vet it doesn’t mean what they are holding is valuable. The function may be valuable but the content is still utter crap... case in point with the comment about glitter and happy. Btw, Fe is a great way to encourage others and respect others values ... that’s what makes a good therapist. By the time Ti-users have figured it out the tribe has already moving on. I still liked this video.

LOL. I'm a Ti-user and I get what your saying as a Te-user. The one you're describing sounds like a INTP stuck in a Ti-Si loop with undeveloped Ne. Working with unverified ingredients to build a house-of-cards framework is a big worry, and why we need to use our Ne more to test the ingredients. My Te colleague says I always "take them on a journey up a mountain" when explaining something when they just want to know the conclusion (and move on), whereas I want to make sure they understand the full context and how I got to the conclusion, so they understand the "why". haha

@@languagelover747 HAHA! I totally know what you mean... I don’t have as much patience for the process as much as I respect it. I have Se in my stack too so pushing things together to move on is necessary... then a Ti-Si user comes in and slows down the process... for good reason of course, I’m just impatient.

I wonder whether translation or incompatibility is the issue. I think for a Ti user like INTPs we can use Ne to help understand a universe where an Fe or Fi perspective has its own logic and apply those frameworks as opposed to assuming their arguments hang on happy thoughts and glitter and give up.
