Definitely liking this format, but this is the first video I've seen lol. Will watch the others and get back tomorrow. I'm sure whatever you're doing is fine either way.
Really good videos. I play by ear but you’ve encouraged me to learn my scales. I’m a blues harmonica player but took up sax a few years ago but it came to a halt but I’m back on it again and loving it , thank you .
Hola sara, brilliant stuff i am learning the pentatonic method of playing at the mo on my alto so this is great for me, will it work on minor pentatonic scales for example A minor 7. Thanks for taking the time out to upload lessons like this people appreciate people like you. Peter Rankin Guardamar Spain.
Hi Sarah, i preferred this method but its not really ear training as you say what notes to play. I understand giving a heads up with the pentatonic scale and even the notes of that scale but with only 5 notes to choose from the whole exercise should then being about working out the lick, maybe a clue as to the starting note will get most people on their way.
thanks for comment! I'm trying to guide through so gradually so describing shape, direction and patterns. Breaking down the techniques I use to learn riffs other people play. Maybe I could maybe if you want to work this out your self, pause the video and see how you get on? Otherwise I'll be just sat there twiddling me thumbs haha! :)
Thank you Andy, comments like this are absolutely VITAL so we really appreciate it. We'll keep tweaking the sax videos based on comments just like this so we can get the balance spot on. Thanks again.
Sarah sax player I understand it’s a beginners lesson and maybe a cheat sheet at the end for people who really can’t grasp it just yet. Thanks for taking the time to share your expertise with us mere mortals
@@andyguile9893 yep cheat sheet already there at the end! I'll add the 'pause the video now' next lesson so it gives you the option. Therefore 3 levels - try it yourself, try it with step by step guidance, and then with the cheat sheet to check your 'answers'.
I request you to always start with a scale of pentatonic before playing a son thanks!! Even introduce home key Otherwise thanks alot sounds so cool in ears!!
