abi, To get the most out of this course, you should know how to get a good sound already, and be able to play most of the notes on your instrument. It doesn't take very long to get to that point though. Best to take a couple of lessons with a private saxophone teacher first if you can. Once you have the basics down, you can get started with this course and get a lot out of it.
Thanks Jay. I have taken your advice and have had those lessons now and have a good grasp of the basics. In what order do you recommend a student in completing the different courses? Pentatonic foundation, Pentatonic patterns and Core essentials?
Abi, good to hear back from you. If you haven't already, watch my latest TH-cam videos for Sax fundamentals: th-cam.com/play/PLWMjC05R8fbX92AKF4SIyXa5kNEdHa0m2.html I would recommend you start with the Pentatonic Foundation Course and the Core Essentials Program at the same time. Once you have made some solid progress on these, you can then add the Pentatonic Patterns book. Here's a link: bettersax.com/products/ Keep in mind that all of these courses and programs are not just meant to go through once and be done with them. As you improve, you will get more and more out of the lessons, so it is best to go through the Pentatonic Foundation Course multiple times. The Core Essentials Program is something that you will use for your entire life as a saxophone player. Good luck and let me know how you progress, Jay
Great tips. Very practical and liberating. Thanks for sharing 🎶🎷🙏
+Stanley Samuel Thanks! Good to hear from you.
Precise tips given in an elegant manner.
Great I need a copy sir
How do you know what pentatonic scale to use, when you hear a song?
is that an apps that can hear notes instead of hearing by ear
I don’t understand what pentatonic scales have to do with playing by ear
is your course appropriate for the absolute beginner?
