I don't even find the eclipse all that scary, Zodd and the Skull Knight appeared far before this as well as the Bakiraka. Father Mozgus is a heck of a lot creepier than the Godhand.

In Berserk you have these things called Beheliths which are like magic lamps that transform you and grant wishes but since the setting is Berserk they only activate when their owner reaches peak despair and the wishes to be granted by the Behelith require(usually) human sacrifice to multidimensional demons. The user is free to reject the wish, but like, since the Behelith(which you also can't just throw away since it comes back to you anyways) activates at your literal lowest, you probably won't reject the wish.
