So true, both sides have had incredibly traumatic lives, as well as the poor little girl getting her childhood stripped away from her watching this fight
The voice didn't fit? He sounded like some Roid Rat and if you think all Guts is some blood drunk rage monster you entirely missed the point of the story.
The scream at 0:44 is a scream of rage and sadness. I think the reason berserk works so well is because Gut’s rage comes from a place of sadness. It doesn’t come from annoyance, from a selfish desire, it comes from deep sorrow, trauma, and helplessness.
I like to believe that whenever guts is fighting an apostle he remembers that these were the guys who killed his friends, those he saw as family. The raiders and our guys Judeau, Pippin and Corkus
you know.. Studio 4°C actually DID/DOES seem to love the source material.. but their premise of trying to fit it all into 3 short movies was faulty to begin with. when it was good.. it was REALLY GOOD. but man, they just skipped so much. and used 3D models waaaayyy too much. there is a way to make 3D models more seamless and work in an anime (the Attack on Titan POV shots of people whipping around the city with ODM gear comes to mind, but the characters were still 2D which is kind of a must with any anime).. models just can't be used like they are often used. like a short cut so you don't have to draw complicated characters. I think if Studio 4°C abandons this mentality and doesn't try to bite off more than they can chew, they COULD do a good job. I really hope they take this as a opportunity to fix all the stuff in Golden Age that looked wonky. and I really hope they put all the stuff they left out for the mini series.

Something I think is really excellent about this is how the animator has used heavy shadows so as not to have to constantly redraw Miura's complicated character designs. It means that the action animation is smooth and full of energy, while the artwork for the still shots are really impactful, creating a really cool contrast between what you 'see' and what you 'feel'.
Been watching this guy for a long while now, this is definitely going to be amazing because of the sweat and hours put into it, and also the fact that it's Mark
It amazes me how Guts uses every moment and situation to its advantage, regardless of the victims or consequences. He literally keeps in his head "I will kill them even if I lose all my limbs!" And by combining the fury of the beast of darkness and the thirst to kill, this man turns into an invincible being. It is especially striking that Guts does this for the most part without superpowers, using a huge sword "training to use it for a long time" and simple necessary supplies. In general, the Lost Children arc reveals Gutsa from the strongest and most important side in the plot after the eclipse, where nothing will interfere with his goal. at the moment when the apostle panics only from one kind, but he just put out the fire on himself, and it's not the method itself that surprises, as the idea of implementation. Separately, I want to note the moment of the howling of the beast, the feeling of madness and rage is shown in such a way that even if he wants to kill her with great malice, he does not break down and does not run at her without ideas, but acts judiciously and assesses the situation. I want the continuation of this legendary anime to be exactly like this Thank you for such an amazing job!

Gotta say, I'm extremely impressed. Once again you did a fantastic job with this animation. Even though it was short you can clearly tell how much effort you put into this project. The only thing that left me disappointed was the fact that it was only 2 minutes, however, this is more than understandable since it took months to finish this whole thing, and let's keep in mind the fact that, you single-handedly animated this whole section. I'd say this is a pretty substantial milestone for you. Please don't strain yourself but at the same time keep up the good work, keep on improving. Also, you're a very inspirational person.
Nah this is overrated. Obvious rotoscoping at times, some scenes were only added bc they wanted to copy castlevania, guts swings at nothing for no reason for most of the video and the fairy apostle charged at guts only for nothing to happen with very choppy jump to her charging at him. Literally, there are scenes where he swings and there’s nothing visibly around him or we see her charging at him and there’s no animation of her anywhere in sight the scene after. Then all of sudden guts is doing something and the next scene she’s charging at him again.

It amazes me how Guts uses every moment and situation to its advantage, regardless of the victims or consequences.
He literally keeps in his head "I will kill them even if I lose all my limbs!"
And by combining the fury of the beast of darkness and the thirst to kill, this man turns into an invincible being.

Nah this is overrated. Obvious rotoscoping at times, some scenes were only added bc they wanted to copy castlevania, guts swings at nothing for no reason for most of the video and the fairy apostle charged at guts only for nothing to happen with very choppy jump to her charging at him.
