    I knew I would regret watching this video, now I'm going to have to buy one of these and start f*ing around with programming. Lol.
    Seriously though this is the first video dealing with programming that gives me enough confidence to play around. Plus your excitement with sharing this tool gets me stoked.
    This was a good one. Ty.

    Ha! Pretty cool! I bought this last month just to have a b.o.b. because I didn't want to spend the 200 for the aes one, I really wanted it so I wouldn't forget my autel or launch dongles lol plus I work on older cars so I'm still able to use the com lines and between Amazon rewards points and coupons it was free for me lol But I didn't know I could use it for bench programming! I have the cardaq3+ so now I might go to the junk yard and get some practice in😎

    Can this be used to clear or reset the "driveability report"? I replaced my car battery and the smog techs would not pass it as it had not finished all the driveability test. I had to take it a certified emissions specialist who passed it after I explained it to him.

    New subscriber in the process of learning programming. I own the tool . I own a 99 Honda accord and a 07 Odyssey. I will be purchasing a J2534 pass through. Are you paying for the ECU files ahead of time and then uploading the files from you're laptop? For example, I have a GM and need to program the ECU. Do you pay 50 bucks or so from AC Delco and then transfer it from the laptop to the ECU through your JBox. I know the BOB is in there and allowing the benchwork but I'm trying to figure out if the program you have on the laptop has the files I'm guessing the MDSFA which you say is Ford.

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      with gm the updates/programming are done directly from the ac delco site, using TLC. there is no need to down load the files onlt the software package.

      no I haven't. its made by drew and I believe there are different versions of the mongoose. Seems like allscanner(vx diag) just branded lol.. they are 495 per unit, if you plan to deal with a more specific manufacturer then i would say go for it, but if you are to deal with a lager variety go more general.. 1200$(cad) gets you a autel j2534 elite. not a bad deal and autel is now recognized in the list of suitable j2534 programming devices.
      thanks for watching Ian.

    Can I do the same procedure to write VIN into an used TCM for a 2014 Chevy Cruze? I do have a GM SPS2 subscription/Techline Connect + VxDiag VCX SE + GoDiag GT100+ (If try to reprogram it via TLC/OBD, it stalls at 50%. No issues reprogramming any other modules with car's VIN)

    • @JLsAutoSolution

      the tcm and pcm must talk on these vehicle for programming, I have not tried tcm on bench, but i do know that the pcm acts as a path to the pcm so try on vehicle before trying bench or hook up pcm and tcm together on bench,
      if that does not work try a fresh install of tlc.
      thanks for watching

    • @josepichardo1386

      @@JLsAutoSolution Thanks for replying. Will contact TLC tomorrow and ask if there is a paid service in order to allow SPS2 to work on used modules. If no solution, I might just ship it out to a specialist to write the VIN. I believe that the BCM acts as the Gateway/Canbus on these cars, so I might have to bench hookup all 3 of them (BCM, PCM + TCM)

    How could you afford to do programming on different cars? Wouldn’t you have to buy a subscription to every auto manufacturer out there? We were going to do programming at our shop but realized that it wasn’t financially feasible because we would have to literally buy a subscription from an auto manufacturer each time we did a vehicle programming. Then come to find out that taking it to the dealership was cheaper than what we could do it for.

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  ปีที่แล้ว

      that depends on how your shop is equipped, the up front cost of the tooling is expensive, then there is learning all the oem software, which most techs will not due to the time it will take to learn the software on their own, for the pricing the cost of the subscription is passed to the client, then there is a programming fee. Its more of a question, do I want to deliver the vehicle today within a timely manner or tell my client that there will be another day delay on delivering their vehicle?
      Also take into account if the vehicle is drivable, if not then you will need to tow it, then after it is programmed you will need to either retrieve the vehicle yourself or have it towed back,. so there might be down time to retrieve the vehicle.
      Example: around my area the cost of programming a gm vehicle is 200$ due to the travel time(ect),
      TLC is free- no cost
      sub fee is 60$ CAD
      Programming fee 100$ CAD
      40$ travel time
      Dealer 149.95tx(cad)
      My cost is not much more then a dealer.
      Thank you.
      P.S, If you are doing more European brands, then of course the cost will be higher, due to the subscription and files are more expensive. Check around on what a normal programming fee is at a dealer depending on the system, and price accordingly,

    • @TroyCarroll509
      @TroyCarroll509 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JLsAutoSolution yeah the average cost for programming a module where I live is about 100 bucks at the dealership, so yeah definitely not cost-effective for us. As far as the programming a couple of our techs have actually wrote some of the programs for these PCM‘s so that’s not a big deal as far as a learning curve. but I can understand. It is probably much more expensive where you live.
