I've done a couple of virtual production shoots last year. Attempting to get the college I teach at to create a subtract on it for the coming school year. Virtual Production is only going to grow in the coming years.
I am doing this with environmental portraits. I grab the high resolution local scenes and then just mimic the lighting in studio. I use projectors for now, but I am getting some interesting ideas from this. ;)
Excited to watch the upcoming episodes. Exploring this technology to replace our chroma shoot. Thank you for sharing, definitely we'll watch the next episode.
At 11:31 Steve says they're using Assimilate LiveFX but at 10:36 it shows a clip of a screen running the Obsidian Onyx lighting console. Are they using both for the setups or is Onyx being used in some other way as well?
pretty cool tech if a bit eerie -- the lighting on your face is a little weird and distracting, though. Middle is warm to account for the overhead "practical" light in the scene, but the left side is very cool and the right side looks daylight balanced, despite the scene suggesting the sides of your faces would be even or one side darker, but not one warmer than the other. Pretty good overall -- but just goes to show this is all going to need a lot more attention to feel realistic. Not that that's even the standard set in television, etc. as things stand.
@@petertahoe- does the airport look fine though? Personally, and I’m no film expert or editor, just a viewer, keeping it in the background, out of focus for this entire shoot feels a bit jarring / distracting to me.

Awesome & Thanks :) Quite a learning :)
Excellent!
Seriously cool
haha the clip at 6:04 of the Camloc power distro box instead of the data distribution of the LED wall. The editor strikes again.
Can we Get alpha of the Fg characters and Objects So that tweak in DI can be Done? if Neeed?
nice!
Pretty wild. Mother Nature and Father Time have much less to do with a work day.
Thank you, B&H and Nikon/Red! Learned a lot, and I’m looking forward to the next episodes.
Glad to hear it! There's a lot more to come.

ironically, all the things you're mentioning aren't about the LED wall which is the point of the video. The "airport" looks fine

Great, now I want a Pepsi.
✌....
a list of sites world wide with LED walls might be useful?
