I really love "Dead Poets Society" I think it is a movie that is told without the need for dialogue, and you can see it from different perspectives without losing the main idea "poets"
I was like: “yeah I also like Howl’s moving castle” and then WHISPER OF THE HEART APPEARED AND i screamed internally. It’s my favorite studio ghibli movie and favorite film of all time and it’s so underrated, thank you for giving it love to it💛 it’s really a work of art
i also watched Past Lives on a plane ride and shamelessly teared up at the end. It was such a beautiful and bittersweet film that I think showcased the intricate reality of past relationships and how lie continues to move on just as you do. The cinematography was exquisite and the soundtrack was *chefs kiss*. Will definitely be rewatching it with my family and friends. Thank you for making this video as well, I love seeing your movie opinions and recs.

I agree about saltburn, it just got sloppy so quickly. And even if it was intentional, I noticed I didn't feel as grasped by the storyline once it got easy to predict. It really wasn't as smart as it seemed to everyone else for me.

dustin!!! aaa!! idk if you remember me but i suggested this idea in your last vid and this did not disappoint at AWL! as expected we have such similar taste in movies! thank you for takin my suggestion seriously! i only watched the before triology recently but before sunset was definitely my favourite purely because of the song she plays at the end, it melts my heart every time. as a fellow 21 year old though i can say that before sunrise is the most relatable to me and i get what you mean about the pure, subtle but innocent romanticism that movie portrays. i hope i can experience something similar in my 20s too. i’m gunna check out your other recs but if you ever get the time, i’d recommend “about time” to you!! i don’t want to give too much away but it’s about a guy who learns after entering his 20s that he is able to travel back in time. what ensues is a story about romance, coming of age and something that i promise will have you smiling and reflecting on your own life at the end.

AND ELEMENTAL T-T If I can recommend something new and quite revolutionary, I encourage you to watch The Peasants, based on a Polish novel, as soon as it will be available in America (I believe the premiere in the US will be released around January 26th). This film is made out of thousands of hand-painted pictures/cuts and it's definitely not the boring book adaptation, but it tells us about the tragic and heartbreaking fate of a young woman in around XIXth century village. This is such a tearjerker😭 Oh! And definitely you should watch Wolf Children anime movie. It has ghibli vibes and one of my fav after ghiblis classics!
we have SO MUCH OVERLAP!! I love love looooved little women and any film by greta gerwig, i really recommend watching Frances Ha. I also recommend watching The Red Turtle, it is one of the lesser known studio ghibli movies. the soundtrack and fluidity in animation is breathtaking
as someone who also has roots in sac, lady bird holds a special place in my heart! i saw that movie at tower theater and it felt super meta when that big shot of the theater blasted on the screen!
