But that's for small stuff in everyday life kind of way, i don't believe this "rule" relates to such a case, only an out of her mind junkie would go on to a hair appointment, and not be shaking the whole way there and back while her precious possession is with this particular grandma. Even if mom thought she was in 'good hands' due to the FIRST ONE being such an accident, for as we now all know..she really afterall wasn't, was she? Nope. Same outcome. This is unacceptable

Grandpa testified that he and his wife watched Tracey’s kids around 5 times per week. That is a full time job. Irresponsible parents who wanted to have kids but still live the single life. Grandmother had worked many years as a school Principal and now has to take care of grandkids 5 plus days per week. She can’t even go to lunch with her church friends without having to take a baby with her. Stressful.
Your reporter said “Entrusted her kids “
NO, THE PARENTS EXPECTED THE GRANDPARENTS TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR KIDS AND NOT FROM TIME TO TIME BUT AT LEAST 5 TIMES EVERY WEEK. ( Testimony by defendant’s husband during trial).
    LAZY IRRESPONSIBLE PARENTS!

This isn’t just lazy parenting, this is selfish. Instead of realizing how stupid she was for continuing to use her mom for free childcare, she wants her to go to prison. Has her mom been tested for Alzheimer’s or dementia? She immediately put the blame on her mom instead of taking ownership of her decisions. Sounds like a pretty rotten person to me. And to think she’s having a third baby just makes me sick. Surprised she doesn’t want to keep her mom out of prison so she can hand the last one over for more free childcare.

How can you say you wanted your mom to be punished for the drowning, but you also give her your second child? That's absurd. And someone is lying about how frequently the grandparents watched the baby. There's clearly something wrong with grandma's brain. That's not her fault. The parents should have gotten a professional daycare provider and let the grandparents visit at will. Like so many families, they wanted convenience and wanted to save money. That's understandable as well. Nobody is truly to blame here.

      Like, what meds?

    • @claireofgreen
      @claireofgreen 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

She was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Insomnia, Sleep Apnea, Depression and anxiety. She was prescribed Duloxetine (Cymbalta -an SNRI antidepressant); Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril - muscle relaxer); Ambien (very controversial med for sleep); Lorazepam (benzodiazepine for anxiety). The doctor who reviewed her chart said that some of the meds were way too high a dose and inappropriate for someone over age 60 due to side effects profile. She did report concerns to her doctor regarding brain fog and apparently has a brother with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. She expressed concerns about that with the doctor. There was no evidence in the chart that cognitive testing was recommended nor was there any change to any of her meds including dosages. She had multiple diagnoses that can affect cognition, was in meds that affect cognition and had a family history of Alzheimer’s. Family had to know all or some of this. Doctors was aware she had come in (starting in 2021) with concerns about cognition and Alzheimer’s in her brother. More could have been done. If she was my patient I would definitely removed the Ambien. It’s a rough drug even for young people. Polypharmacy is a big problem with seniors and there is a lack of education for the families and patients to (hard to get done in the 15min allotted time to see a patient). Families don’t want to aknowledge or “see” cognitive issues in a family member (Dementia is a highly feared disease and people are resistant to its presence until it really has progressed. It also has symptoms that are variable from day to day. Who knows what was causing her cognition problems? Multiple factors that could cause and/or aggravate her situation. but it doesn’t seem anyone really tried to sort it out. These kinds of events aren’t going to be prevented by punishment. Only putting systems in place that make it harder for fallible humans ti make tragic mistakes (like they have done with the airlines which greatly reduced crashes). Cars need to have notification to check back seat/alarm. People need to be educated to put children in the opposite back seat from the driver’s side to give an easier back glances view. Patients need better education on side effects of meds. Doctors need to take patient reports of potential side effects seriously and send patients complaining of cognitive problems for cognitive testing. (Especially in cases like this where a job was lost to cognitive problems). Families need to be educated to be more vigilant. Also, people today are having kids at later ages and their own parents are much older then previous generations of grandparents. It’s easy to not want to aknowledge that a parent is aging but really pay attention. 45-65 is early onset Alzheimer’s. Typical ages start at 65. There are at least 12 different dementias that exist. Autoimmune diseases kick in heavily 30’s-70’s (some of which have neuro-psych symptoms.) These events are truly tragic. We need to figure out how to make it harder for them to happen.

Don't get me wrong, she deserves consequences, definitely. However, that expert in the phenomenon of leaving kids in cars said, for instance, that *memory problems are a symptom of PTSD.* Having a grandchild die on your watch less than a year prior, I can't imagine anything more traumatic. This woman simply wasn't well and it was masked. I didn't realize until decades later that I had been depressed for a while after a traumatic event. We sometimes don't know that we need help.

Let me get this straight…….. When their son died her daughter wanted her mother prosecuted for it, but she wasn’t, so instead you have your mother care for your infant daughter because you had a hair appointment? Then on top of that she testified that she trusted her because she knew that she would be with friends and that the hair place was close to where the grandmother was having lunch. If the daughter was so concerned why didn’t she pick her daughter up immediately after the hair appointment? Because by the sounds of it, it was HOURS that the child was left in the car? And the cops went and notified the mother at HOME…
While I feel the grandmother should be punished for it, the mother bears some responsibility as well for leaving her with her!

Daughter is clearly rewriting history. There’s no way in the world the police told her that unless her mom intentionally held the baby under the water, there was nothing the law could do. What a stupid lie to tell. And then blaming the police for not arresting her mom as if her decision to leave her new baby with her mom is their fault too? LOL.... I was thinking I was the only person wondering about the smarts of the mom leaving a second child with grams. I love my parents... but if I left one child in their care and it died accidentally, I would never ask them to sit again. Never. I doubt my spouse would allow it either. that said: as a parent, it is SOOO easy to almost leave a sleeping child in the car. If one is hauling in groceries, once the final bag is in.... one might think their hauling is all done.

Well I'm only 7:37 minutes in but I knew it, obviously drugs are involved and something ain't right with "mom & dad". I picked up on it in yesterday's video, as they were having their moment speaking to the news, its all in the eyes, its always in the eyes, if you look carefully you will see it too. "Mom" is not doing very well, if they investigated these small town freaks with babies, the story would lead to drugs,.. It always does and its always in that sparkle of the eye..

Y’all are funny “assuming” the parents are drug addicts lol. All babies are drug tested now when they’re born, so I imagine if she was an “addict” that would’ve been known. Maybe the mother is being medicated right now due to losing two children within 9 months? I imagine if that happened to me, my doctor would be putting me on some medication too. Just because they aren’t acting the way you think they should be doesn’t mean they’re junkies. 🙄.

I kinda disagree with Vinnie when he said she didn’t do it on purpose. Sure, having a child die on her watch can be considered an accident, but having a second child whilst in her care within a year is intentional. Unless the grandmother was suffering from the early stages of dementia or she was/is a serious alcoholic or drug addict, then she did it deliberately. Perhaps she hates her daughter and son-in-law and by extension their children, but I believe she was willfully negligent.

  • @Aristobulos7

Was the grandma tested for drugs, alcohol, or psych meds like Xanax which cause memory loss? If so, this is negligence. Where is the psychologist report on the grandma? I would bet money she was on Benzos or some type psych meds, which should be categorized with street drugs.

It doesn't make sense that Kayla doesn't take the baby with her to her haircut appointment like she said she usually does but instead the baby's 65 year old grandmother has to take the baby with her to her weekly Bible study group at church and then to lunch at a restaurant. It sounds like Kayla didn't mind her son died in Tracy's care.
I can't help but 🤔 if the deaths were more than just a tragic accident both times. I don't see how the woman could forget about the baby after just spending the morning with her. How could she walk away and completely forgot a precious baby was in a hot car!?

I feel like the deaths of two babies under the care of the same woman within a year+ apart shows a pattern. We're not talking about failing to water some plants for someone while they go on vacation and then the plants died- we're talking about TWO HUMAN BEINGS! I mean, come on!! Accident, forgetfulness or done on purpose!- it's still death that should NOT have happened. I just feel the jury got it wrong.....I respect their verdict but I respectfully disagree.
