There are actually other guaranteed shinies later in the series. BW2 has two guaranteed shinies: a shiny Haxorus in the Nature Preserve (accessed by seeing all Pokemon in the Unova Dex) and a shiny Dratini or Gible for beating White Treehollow or Black Tower respectively.

I have always found funny how most of the Apricorn Balls are actually glitched.
darthdand yes one time I caught a Heracross with a Lure Ball but that was weird cuz I found it while headbutting trees in Azalea
Yeah, I meant actual glitches. For example I remember that the Love Ball does not increase the catch rate of Pokémon with opposite gender, like it's supposed to be, but actually does that for Pokémon with the same gender as yours.
Definitely saying there's no way he defeats team rocket and takes on the gym in one episode if this episode was just killing a gyarados and getting 5 items. which is good because that means more episodes which means more Scykoh

Did you know if you breed the shiny gyarados with an ekans, there is a 1 in 64 chance of hatching a shiny ekans! It will be the opposite gender of the shiny gyarados - if you can breed a male shiny ekans he can breed with loads of field egg group pokemon and again make more shinies!!

actually scykoh, there are other guaranteed shiny pokemon. In black and white, there is a shiny haxorus that you get when you complete the unova dex, and in black 2 you get a shiny gible, in white 2 you get a shiny dratini. also why did you kill shiny gyarados

Hey Scykoh there is an old shiny hunting trick involving the red gyarados. First you need to teach it mimic via tm's and erase all other moves. Send it to a gen 1 game and face ditto. Use mimic to copy it's transform and let the ditto transform into you and use transform again in battle, catch it and send it to gen 2 and the ditto will always be shiny. Since breeding in gen 2 is a little different you could breed a shiny with a 1/64 chance and since ditto can breed with anything it was super easy to shiny hunt :D (I also think this is why there is no trade compatibility onwards to gen 2 and 1)
Zomgltd no, it was mostly to do with the way newer games calculate stats. pokemon from gens 1 & 2 only have 5 stats (hp, attack, defense, special, and speed), while gen 3 introduced a split in the special stat between attack and defense. most pokemon do not have even special attack and special defense, hence why you can't bring them up. I think they may have adjusted things behind the scenes in the vc releases to negate this, but I could be wrong.
I don't see how that would be a killer on it's own. I can think of several ways to shortcut around that issue but it would be a less than ideal solution. There were likely many reasons they locked it off, but I don't think either of us could say it was for x reason for sure. Maybe it was just a bit of all the above.

With the Shiny Gyarados you can get infinite shinies if its male! Shinies in gen 2 have perfect ivs so if you breed it with a different female Pokemon the egg will have a shiny!
Maybe the Magikarp has to be in the front slot of your party?

I wish you could at least attempt to catch the red Gyarados while it had low hp just to liven up things a little bit. It bothered me even more that you caught the Magikarp instead.

Why does detect even exist, it's a worse version of protect and forgive me if I'm wrong, but don't all Pokémon who learn detect, learn protect as well?
SSDARKPIT nope at some point detect is kinda better because it works more turns and protect works one turn and if you want to use it again it will fail

*YO! HELLO AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER AMAZING DAY OF POKÉMON! LET'S GET THINGS STARTED!* ^_^
I started things off today by going back to the farm with the sick Miltank and giving it the necessary seven Berries to make it better! ^_^
As a reward we were given TM13 - Snore - for free. ^_^
Then I flew to Azalea Town to finally retrieve my Apricorn Ball from Kurt. ^_^
I was given a Fast Ball! ^_^
Then I encountered - and promptly defeated - a shiny red Gyarados. ^_^
Then I was able to acquire a Red Scale from its hide! ^_^
Then I found a hidden Full Restore and a hidden Rare Candy on the West side of the Lake of Rage as well as TM43 - Detect - on the ground! ^_^
Then I went into a nearby house where a man inside taught me how to use TM10 - Hidden Power - an AWESOME technique! ^_^
Then I caught a Magikarp. ^_^
That's enough for today's adventure. Looking forward to next time! ^_^
