    Usually I’m hyper critical on you tube tutorials but this is spot on! Simple yet comprehensive! Thx

      There are great guitarist teaching but for me I’ve tried and tried but I take away very little leaving discouraged from their big you tube channels. Now I avoid as much as I can realizing YT for me is counterproductive wasting time.
      But now and then I stop and check something out, maybe once every couple months.
      This lesson has something different I actually learned from and was playing licks in a couple hours. I’m not sure why I stopped and absorbed the lesson but it was effective and gave me knowledge not endless frustration.

    I love how these licks are easy to understand but leaves so much room for interpretation! Will certainly be committing these to memory for later use, thank you!

    Excellent lesson! These licks are easy to get under your fingers and sound great. This is immediately useful to put into my toolbox. I’ve always felt that if one could have perhaps a dozen anchor licks like these that might be all you need. If you could do future videos with other anchor licks that would be awesome and much appreciated.

    You are the BEST instructor ever! You simplify music theory and show us how to take that and make guitar playing fun. I’d love to see more videos tying music theory with blues licks. Having so much fun I recommended your videos to my daughter also. Thanks for your great lessons!

    I like all of your stuff. Sometimes it a bit ahead of me, but I'll still listen if my old fingers can't do it. I'm 67 and didn't quit my day job. I wish we had internet and you 50 years ago! You show us what I want to learn to be a great living room blues player. And like I said, if I can't play it, I listen to you playing it.

    Great lesson.I know the pentatonic scale all over the neck ,but its hard to improvise licks without sounding like you are playing the scale.Its great to learn new ones .Lets face it even guys like clapton had to copy someone to get started.
    I have a buddy from the late 50s who Clapton used to go and watch at gigs like the Flamingo club in London .Maybe he copied some of his licks.

    My only problem... with your TAB, is how do you know the beats of the notes, and what is the bpm, you are playing?
    i am a beginner guitar player, coming from piano

    • @JulesGuitar
      @JulesGuitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most guitar players don't know musical notation and follow the rhythm by ear, hence I don't usually include it to keep it simple. In this case the rhythm of the licks changes to fit the three tracks, so I suggest just play along and you'll pick it up.

  • @gregalon

    Learning blues guitar:
    "You just play the same lick 100 different ways?? That's easy."
    {Tries to come up with 100 ways to play the same lick}
    "Oh wow, this isn't so easy."
