This is a very underrated song from their Blurryface album- they had so many hits on that album this one gets overshadowed I think your interpretation is right that it's talking to God and doesn't want God to forget about him even though sometimes he has doubts - parts of this song could also relate to "Blurryface" and have a double meaning but for me when he talks about how he wants the markings made on his skin to mean something to him again - I think he's talking about his tattoos and he has a cross on his arm So many bangers on this album- you'll enjoy!

Its my favorite song from the album and it has some deep Christian symbolism in the lyrics, also Tyler Joseph has stated that the rap verse from the song is his favorite thing he has ever written. ...and they have a lot of songs that deal with some serious issues like suicide, while playing at an upbeat tempo. Kinda like NF did on Hate Myself.
