I gave in & pre-ordered the standard set. I was never a fan of the Brucesploitation movies when I was a kid, as a Bruce Lee fan I kind of considered them disrespectful & , obviously, tastelessly exploitative, but all these years (more than I want to think about, really) later I'm curious enough about the making of these movies, the stories of the actors who starred in them, & enough of a film geek in general to think this set with all it's potentially fascinating insider info will be thoroughly enjoyable. Sure, the movies themselves are at best only so bad they're (kind of) good, but I know I'll find the new documentary & the audio commentary tracks very interesting. I'm a little concerned that I'll like this set enough that I'll happily cough up the cash for Severin's 2nd set!
This is my release of the year. These movies are tons of fun. I ordered the bundle that comes with the Bruce Le signed poster and my set came in today. Everything is super high quality.
I see BBC 2 have a Bruce Lee show tonight at 9pm

The one that Is missing Is the very first one, Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger Bruce Li. 1973, only two months after Bruce Died. I have the Demo Single Theme to the Movie King Of Kung Fu. This Is a good Film. Don't forget I saw them all and more Totally Uncut. I have ordered the whole lot. Only because of the restoration they have done. Roll on the Anglia Mayo Young Box set fully restored and Uncut. I could not get the money out fast enough for that one. Half of Her films were Banned here. Or just chopped to bits on Pirate VHS versions. Keep 'Em Coming. Mate.

Exit The Dragon Enter The Tiger is from around 1976, definitely not 1973.You are thinking of Goodbye Bruce Lee, which is on the set.
King of Kung Fu is sometimes the alternate title for Enter the Game of Death.
They will be fun to watch for 5 minutes, perhaps. I remember the disappointment when I first discovered this genre; for me that has not changed. The most exciting part will be the box in which they arrive. If you do buy the box set for channel content and review each film; that would be interesting.
Bruce Lee: The Man, The Myth and Chinese Stuntman are the better of the Bruce exploitation films. I would only be getting the box set for just 3 of the films and the extra features including the documentary.
I have just bought the limited edition. Cost £179.80. The price includes the shipping cost. In dollars $195 plus $25 shipping.
I've seen hundreds of HK, Korean and Taiwanese Fu flicks - I'd estimate somewhere in the region of 400-600 and I have to say I'm long over my "anti-Bruceploitation" stance which I essentially took in my teens and early 20's. Bruce Li, Bruce Le, Bruce Liang and Dragon Lee were legitimately talented martial arts exponents, the films they were in were of variable quality admittedly. I love Bruce Lee : The Man, The Myth, Exit The Dragon, Enter The Dragon, Bruce and Shaolin Kung Fu, Bruce Lee at Snake Island, The Chinese Stuntman, The Clones of Bruce Lee and Enter The Game Of Death. I also adore Enter The Fat Dragon (which is often falsely categorised as "Bruceploitation") because Sammo is HK's greatest Action Director/Filmmaker of all time IMO and it's a bona fide classic. As for the actual Bruce movies, they were important for the time and there's no denying he's a significant cultural figure but I don't find those particularly rewatchable (unlike the aforementioned titles). Bruce Lee at Snake Island is worth watching for Chen Sing in that ridiculous wig alone. There tends to be two camps when it comes to Fu cinema - the "Bruce or nothing" guys and those which enjoy the broader work of HK filmmakers - I'm 100% in the latter group.
I have pre-ordered mine, I got the one for 135 dollars, the other I don't really need. This is a walk down memory lane with great extras and it is after all a part of Bruce Lee history...😀🙏

Yes, my favourite Bruceploitation film is actually Fist Of Fury 2. Not sure if you have seen it but it is on TH-cam. Always really enjoyed it and it loosley follows on from Bruce's original. I really quite like Bruce Li, he is by far the best of em mate. Thanks for the video!

I remember running to the video store in the 80’s to rent Bruce Lee movies, coming across all the clones films I would by pass at the time.. But I have grown to enjoy them now. The more Bruce’s the better! At the end it’s all a tribute to Bruce Lee (double e’s) 🔥🔥🔥 I will be getting the box set bundle 🔥🔥🔥
As a kid i used to have a bruce lee boxset on vhs and game of death 2 came with it. Must admit its actually quite a fun movie 😂
Remember most of these first time around, it was Bruce Li who got me into Bruce Lee in the first place, Bruce against iron hand I believe it was called, I’ve just bought this set to, with shipping it was about £130 in total, a lot of memories here, even if some of these films are a bit dodgy it’s nice to relive a unique period in time, thank you as always for the great content Stripey thx mate

I grew up with the clones. They were an extension of Bruce's adventures to this king Fu crazed, monster movie obsessed 8 year old. Don't get me wrong. Bruce reigns Supreme. But the clones also helped me get through a rather odd childhood as well. It's hard to explain, and it would take a while to do so. I just feel the clones definitely had an impact on martial cinema.....more than some would care to admit.

I was never a fan of all the Bruce Lee clones, But I always thought Ernie Reyes Jr. would be THE ONE to make a great Bruce Lee type of movie... He's very dynamic in his films and in MMA, His speed and skills were off the charts, The only thing he was shorter 5'5" to 5'7" for Bruce.
I've just bit the bullet. Hours of commentaries and interviews discussing the genre swayed me, plus The Dragon Lives Again looks nuts. Like you, I hope we see The Last Fist of Fury in the next volume😉
I watched a few of the Bruceploitation back in the day. Some of them weren't bad but quite a few were very bad. Thanks for the great information Stripey as always.

My personal favorite premiered on my local TV station in the 1980's. Enter the Game of Death on KTLA Channel 5. It even had Bruce Le live at the TV station doing a live interview by Tom Hatten during the commercial breaks. As for the movie itself just think of the end fight set pieces from different types of Bruce Lee and other Kung Fu films all connected by a weird plot. I'm still looking for the original language edition.

That Bruceploitation boxset is definitely a must-have if you still are into Bruceploitation films especially The Clones of Bruce Lee which was absolute bonkers, but almost every film contains English audio tracks that you probably grew up watching and none of these films contain original audios due to the original soundtracks being considered lost at this rate. The exception being The Big Boss Part II which is the only film on the box set with original audio but as an website exclusive disc that you can only preorder it through the Severin website (just like the LED light-up slipcase for Cathy’s Curse, which was a messed up Canuxploitation take on The Exorcist and The Omen to some extent). Still disappointing though that Goodbye Bruce Lee: His Last Game of Death did not include the original Chinese tracks despite the fact that the Hong Kong IVL/Celestrial DVD has the original Mandarin/Cantonese tracks.
But hopefully as Frank Djeng discuss the Vol 2 set somewhere on social media, it will contain most films with original audios in contrast to the first volume set.

This is more expensive than the actual Bruce Lee criterion set. I'm all for physical media but this is just taking advantage. IMO the best Bruce Lee clone isn't even in this set which is the Bruce Li films The Invincible and New Guinea, which can be found on TH-cam for free

I remember all the movie posters in Chinatown. After Bruce Lee passed away. They were everywhere. All the Chinatown Cinemas are gone now.😢. Bruce died too young and a big void was left. All of a sudden Jackie Chan movies came along. I wouldn't get it. But thanks for doing a brief overview.😊
Think the very first one I seen was exit the dragon enter the dragon in a cinema in Glasgow and remember that I quite liked it .
One more thing. The film within a film (the dragon lee film at the end of The Real Bruce Lee) I believe is called Last Fist of Fury. Not sure, but I'll find out. It was trimmed by a few minutes to fit in to The Real Bruce Lee run time
My ten penneth Stripey would be to go for the big one with the signed poster (it would be a great talking point when people would say "who signed that? " it would open up all the dialogue about this genre 🤩 also my way of thinking is that these movies are so ludicrously bad they are a blast to watch! The badder the better! I definitely couldn't watch these in one go, I need to space out Brucesploitation 🤯 so this box set will entertain you for a LONG time! My favourite is Enter the Game of Death!! I am sceptical but in the end i will probably end up buying it,I also bought a blu-ray of Slaughter in San Francisco recently,which is not an official Bruceploitation movie,but if you look at the mannerisms of the lead actor it can sure be viewed as one

Yeh I was born in 1969 and was 5 years old when my big brothers sat me down to watch Fist and fury followed by big boss /way of the dragon and Enter the dragon it was the happiest and saddest day of my life to discover and lose my idol in the same day /gutted I was so nobody else comes close I cant tolerate the Bruce lies lers lous levees 😢😅
*The Black Dragon vs. the Yellow Tiger* can be viewed for free. (Guess where.) Severin routinely ships out damaged merchandise, and at those prices it ought to be in pristine condition.
I hate these movies , 😭 Bruce deserves better,. The Bruce Li ones especially I detest, but at least we Brucelee fans have the real Bruce lee to enjoy,😊 so we have the last laugh 😊 take care , Stephen , Scotland.

Iif you’re gonna go go all the way and get the complete set, that’s how it was intended to be, and probably would be more enjoyable having them all we all know that they are exploitation films imitation is the highest form of flattery. Yes, some of them are terrible and that’s sometimes fun to watch but it’s in a way it’s how the culture dealt with his death it’s imperfect warts and all but we love Bruce and it’s part of the fun.
Hey Stripey, my personal favourite Bruce Li film is Return Of The Tiger which has Paul Smith from Midnight Express. Also has Angela Mayo, the fight scenes in the last 20 minutes or so are bordering on greatness and ridicule! Reserve the beer night with mates for this one pal.
I remember seeing Return Of The Tiger in a theater way, way back when! Angela Mao & Paul Smith (wasn't he Bluto in Robin William's Popeye movie, too?) were fun additions to that film, & I kind of find Exit The Dragon, Enter The Tiger enjoyable, too, I'm sort of hoping those movies end up as part of Severin's 2nd package of Brucesploitation movies.
A box set for fans and for those who love this kind of unique movies that no other star except Bruce Lee has provoked in spite of him. Looking back on a cinematic era, fun and weird at the same time, terrible and stupid for some, she is surely nostalgic for many, those who wanted more Bruce, more Kung fu and more Wataaaaa!

I’m a fan of the genre but even I must admit these films are dreadfully boring if you’re not in the right frame of mind for it, which is why the main documentary is great to have. Some of these films have great background stories.
The extras in the Send in the Clones set are not worth it for the price IMO, but the boxset itself is fair priced for the amount of film scans and extras, and it’s the best those movies have looked in decades, so I preordered mine.
Do it! It'll be worth the review video lol. If you don't want it you could easily sell it.
I'm looking forward to some trashy movie nights but may have to watch them between others.

A great video stripey. I have a lot of these movies on DVD and on VHS. But I will not got it on Blu-ray. My first Bruceploitation films I saw , was Bruce Lee the man and the Myth in theaters. Then I saw dragon Lee in the real Bruce Lee. And the clones of Bruce Lee. Again great video my friend 👍.

Severin have been releasing a few UK versions of their releases via HMV and Amazon at a decent price recently. Think I’ll hang on and see if they do that with the standard box set. Import duty and postage buying direct from their website could end up being another $50.

I am interested in the one with James Bond, Popeye and all those others characters. It looks bonkers as entertainment. I just wish there was a remastered disc for the THE GREEN HORNET & FURY OF THE DRAGON. Yes, they are a cash grab in the wake of of his passing, by showing 3 Green Hornet episodes intercutting several of the show’s fight scenes out of context, but at least it is the real Bruce Lee we see on the screen. I still hope you will do two videos on this. One, discussing the television series after rewatching all the 26 episodes, including the two Batman ones, and both Hornet films. Stipey when I was a kid, Bruce Lee triple features were common at the cinema. The Hornet films ere often on the bill.
The Dragon Lives Again (1977) will have a Jame Bond Knockoff , Man with no Name knockoff , Chinese Popeye knockoff , Zatoichi knock off. They won't be exact.
I have most of those on Bluray and DVD . I'll poass on the box set and watch the documentary online or wait for a uk release ! the postage is too much man .. $20 and $30 for the set nahhhhhhhh FOOOOK IT. so if you just want the Docu its $44 !!! hahahaa no way !!

Hi Stripey, l was excited when l heard about this Enter The clones of Bruce Lee and wanted to know what films this Boxset was going to include,when I saw the advert on TH-cam on this Boxset I was kind of disappointed, I already got the main ones from Bruce Lee man and the myth, Exit the Dragon Enter The Tiger, Fist of Fury 2, Enter The Game of Death, Dragon lives Again, Goodbye Bruce Lee, Fist of Fury 3 , True Game of Death, Tiger Strikes Again, Dynamo , etc , I thought this Boxset would have included most of these, few others on this Boxset isn't my cup of tea, I definitely am not buying this, I will buy the documentary Enter The Clones of Bruce Lee. Keep up the great work bro.

You can also preorder the stand alone Enter the Clones of Bruce Blu-ray for $24.00 . Not sure what the shipping cost amounts to because I ordered the bundle plus the two books related to Kung Fu films that they were pairing with the bundle on the site. My total came out to $270.11. Not a bad deal as one book was a preorder. It was covering Bruceploitation Movie Posters. The other book was 40 % off about Kung Fu films of the past.

@@DrRackpull Wow. In the US , shipping is free if I buy over $80.00. I paid $60 shipping for the Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest set from Arrow to be shipped to the US. So it is a trade off of sorts.

I'm like you on this one Stripey, when I first heard about it being a box set, I was in, but more I think about it, I never got into or liked the Bruceploitation films. The quality was poor and they just were not Bruce. To be fair, i pretty much hated the genre when I was a kid.I think I only find 3 decent, The Man the Myth, Fist of Fury 2 and Exit the Dragon, Enter The Tiger. The one thing that does have me interested is Big Boss 2, but I think I will just get the documentary. Thanks for the video, Stripey👍🏻👍🏻

I’m interested in the documentary but would rather spend the other £80 or so on classic Golden Harvest / Jackie Chan movies from Eureka / 88 Films that I don’t already own. Would have been tempted if they had got the man the myth and Bruce Lee & I for Vol 1.

i watched the Wu Tang channel on Roku streaminga and saw them all with Dragon Lee , Bruce Le are the most made but really when you watch them you see how bad these guys really are at martial arts and really fighting. Bolo is in a lot with Bruce Le's but you can see he looks good when he fights. I went back and watched Bruce Li recently and thought how bad his fighting is.
Personally, I would only spend that much on a box set if I was going to watch them more than once.
Those films have no rewatchability.
You probably watch them once more out of curiosity, & for the channel but most likely there will end up collecting dust on the shelf for years and years and years to come.
Your Hong Kong legends Bruce Lee DVD collection would most likely be watched more than the Clones box set.
I would watch a few that are free on TH-cam, and then if you feel like they have that fun rewatchability, then get it, but if you can't sit through them, then it will be just a waste of money.

I have personally watched the Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest set only once. The reason you buy something desirable is it was worthwhile at the time but now you simply own it and forgot about it. I have bought lots of impulse buys that were worthwhile at the time but now own and forgot about it. Many I never even opened. I would come across these movies and TV series that I own and wonder why I even bought these in the first place.
Did you buy one of the box sets Stripey? I bought the same single copy as you, but not a box set, and I enjoyed it. I'd be very tempted to buy the set with the Bruce Le autographed poster, but I'm resisting! I've got 'The man the myth' and I can tolerate that. I actually prefer it to the Jason Scott Lee film, which is a complete distortion of the facts that'll unfortunately be taken as facts by the uninitiated.
@martinschell4212 I didn't get the boxset, mate, I was tempted, but I know I wouldn't watch or would struggle if I tried. There's a couple, like The Man the Myth & Chinese Stuntman, that are pretty good.

I don't think I'll bother. The ones I enjoyed to a degree as a kid are not in the set. I checked out a few that I hadn't seen on Amazon Prime. They were mostly terrible and didn't hold my interest. The dubbing can be hilarious though. A prime example is "The True Game of Death" (1979) which I had on video. There was an actress in it credited as "Alice" and on IMDb her only other credit is a porno from the mid 90s!

Not for Me Stripey, watched some of these in the late 70's, 80's and to be honest they are Rubbish but respect your views and to those who like this sort of thing, good on yer..Each to their own, cashing in on Bruce and even the Legend Bolo Yeung's mannerisms copied Bruce, such as the flicking of the nose, makes you laugh but what's the point!...There will not be another Bruce, "FACT" we don't need copies of Bruce, we need originals, it's over 50 years now and since then we have had some really good talent from Jackie, Van Damme, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa and we could go on and on and list them but who is the standout from the crowd?....Genuinely, some are exceptionally good in their own right but who is next? with that extra bit of WOW that we got when we seen Bruce for the first time!...Speed, Choreography, cinematography, moves, showcase and adapting styles in each movie as Bruce did in each of his movies, not many to date as far as I can see, same styles and routines and choreography ( Van Damme signature Kicks repeated in his movies ) " Boring and lazy" in my humble opinion. They bring out a John Wick movie and then all of a sudden we get copies and clones, then it becomes boring...If you do go for this type of boxset in this vlog, then I'm sure it's out of fondness for that era and not the quality of movies which certainly has questions marks about them.... Great Vlog and most appreciated as always....
Thanks, mate. You made some interesting points. I've not ordered the boxset yet, but I have watched a couple of the Bruceploitation films here on YT & I must admit, they wasn't great at all. I do want to see Enter the Clones of Bruce documentary & the films "could" be used for content on this channel. We'll see.

@@StripeyR Nostalgia and respect that you love this Genre so much Stripey. I also love Martial art movies but I have my limit when they just go crazy. I'm still waiting on the next Wow factor and to see who will emerge as a genuine standout, no Bruce Lee copies please, just a genuine new kid on the block? I think Bruce was lucky as he felt so strong about what he wanted to portray on screen and keep pushing his limits and not let anyone dictate otherwise ( without a fight ) unfortunately I'm sure todays Martials Artists in Movies are told what to do and how a scene will be shot and choreographed and are complete in a matter of weeks / days and that's the whole movie. Sure Bruce made sure each of his scenes were done to his standard, hence why we don't get the quality of what he portrayed in todays movies, sad but true....Great work and thanks for the reply to my comments, most appreciated.👍

Just my opinion but these films kind of dilute Bruce's legacy. Alot of money for pretty bad movies. The documentary would be nice if sold separately.
