Hey guys, let me know what you think about today's session. I'm excited to have some in depth discussions with you all, and I'd love to hear your opinions! 💕
In the delicate canvas of my being, I have discovered the richness of being a highly sensitive person (HSP), where every experience becomes a kaleidoscope of profound sensations and vivid details. A simple encounter with a flower is not just a fleeting moment, but an immersion into a world of wonder, where beauty is woven with questions and careful observations. I remember gazing at a flower in awe not only for its vibrant color, but also for the stories I imagined in its delicate petal. I immersed myself in a universe of curiosity, wondering about its species, about who cared for it, and how it had come to bloom in that specific corner of the world. For an HSP person, every encounter with nature becomes an introspective journey, a deep connection to everyday magic that others might overlook. However, my path to mindfulness meditation was a challenge, a dance between the depth of my sensitivity and the need to release complex thoughts. The practice of letting go, of simply being present in the moment, seemed a monumental task. Bursts of detailed thoughts and intense emotions resisted giving ground, making the desired calm seem far away. I shared my journey in a commentary, revealing my status as an HSP person in the context of mindfulness meditation. It was an act of vulnerability, a reminder that we all face unique challenges on our path to inner peace. But it was also a message of encouragement, an echo that reverberated across the screen, "If as an HSP person I could find my way in mindfulness meditation, I know you can too." Because, in reality, my sensitivity was not a barrier, but a gateway. By immersing myself so deeply in each experience, my ability to share transformation became more authentic. So I encourage those who doubt, those who fear that meditation is unattainable, by reminding them that, if a highly sensitive person like me could overcome those challenges, the door is open to all. Mindfulness meditation can be a gift accessible to every heart, even those who beat with the intensity of heightened sensitivity.
I love that you refer to it as a gateway. So often if anyone is different to the "average human experience" it's labelled as a negative, when a lot of times it can be used in positive and useful ways! But this is why I'm stressing in all the meditations that it's a personal thing. If you want to skip something or change something, amazing! Adapt anything about meditation until it suits you and makes you feel connected to your practice. So happy you're encouraging others to try! Hope you are well my friend 😊
@@MapleWhispersASMR Being an HSP has granted me a lot of creativity; I can also perceive subtleties and details in things and people that many overlook. However, it also has its downsides: numerous thoughts and emotions fill my mind. In the context of mindfulness meditation, it was quite challenging to detach myself from all those emotions and thoughts. Many times, I had to refocus on my breath, or learn to label those thoughts and emotions to return to the present, the here and now. That's why I say that if I could learn to master my emotions, most people can certainly succeed in their quest for inner peace. I genuinely hope you succeed with this series of videos, my kind friend. The practice of meditation has the potential to change lives for the better: your perspectives broaden, as does your understanding and empathy towards others seeking tranquility. Knowing yourself helps you understand others.
Hi Maple 🙂 Obviously, as a guy, I can't multi task, but I do sometimes let things overwhelm me, maybe while cooking or putting washing away. Watching your videos has always helped me and these ones and the pendulum ones are really, really helpful. The water sounds and the birds singing is lovely to listen to. How are you? I hope everything is positive in your life. 🤗
It's always wonderful to see how much care you put into your work. Many thanks for your efforts. Watching your videos always relaxes me and makes me very happy. I hope you had a relaxing weekend, Maple, and I wish you a wonderful, if possible, peaceful week. Take care of yourself. Good night to everyone😌😴💤💟
You continue to amaze and inspire, Maple. Mindfulness is difficult for me to achieve in the heat of the moment sometimes based on the situation and environment (i.e. more difficult when I'm feeling unsafe at work or when I'm in pain/sick, or when my wife is going through her cancer treatments). But even though it's easier said then done, it can still be helpful. I just wish it was as reflexive as "flight or fight". You seriously need to write a book or teach classes, or go on tour so your fans can show you our appreciation in real life. Thanks again for everything.
Over time it can become more of a natural response! It takes time, and it takes practice, but it becomes easier and easier. And I would love to go on tour some day! Although then everyone will learn that I'm actually terrified of public speaking haha (although again hopefully something that gets easier with practice!)
I definitely feel that. I can work all day and then take 2 hours to watch netflix and I feel horrible, like I wasted time when I could've been productive. We all need time to relax and unwind, and we should feel good about that time!
Another great one, Maple - it's obvious the amount of care you're putting into this series and while I'm not quite in the zone just yet, the mere fact of you shining a light on mindfulness has me mindful of mindfulness, which is the first step. 😁
@@MapleWhispersASMR Well, there are two more parts to your series and I'll be sure to listen to them all regularly, so yes - I feel that my journey is only beginning 🙂
@@BenChanNYC and I'm going to mention this in the next video - since this is a crash course covering a lot of topics the goal isn't to flood you with information, it's so after it's done and you've gone through all the concepts you can go back and focus on the parts that resonate the most with you/you feel the need to practice the most. So that you'll be able to take it at your own pace after. :)
Hello, Maple! Thank you again for making this content for all of us. I think it's wonderful when someone genuinely wants to share with others, just because they want to see others be happy. You asked for our thoughts, so I'm happy to share some of mine. First, I have to admit that it took me three tries before I stayed awake for the whole session, haha! Of course your relaxing voice and manner played a part, but I also tend to listen to ASMR before bed. For my third try, I woke up early and listened this morning before getting ready for my day. Focusing my awareness onto objects that I could see was interesting. I didn't expect that kind of exercise from a meditation session. I liked it. Resting in open awareness was also new and interesting. I found it "easier" to focus on a bird or the sound of water, but I wonder if it only felt easier because there was an objective that was a bit more familiar? Which plays into that idea of being conditioned to always be doing something... I am still drawing a tarot card each day, and reflecting on how it's themes relate to my energy and emotions that particular day. These small sessions feel like meditation to me. A few minutes alone with my thoughts. And then I have moments throughout the day when those thoughts resurface and impact my actions. I'm listening to this session again as I'm writing this comment. You're right, though, it's hard to do both! Good thing I already listened to it once. But now I'm getting sleepy... Thanks again, Maple. Take care!
Love that you're still implementing this into your tarot time! Finding ways to make meditation and mindfulness more personal is the best way to make a habit! Open awareness is really difficult to do purposefully. It's like looking at a lazy eye picture, just trying to take in everything while not focusing on any one thing. Like I mentioned, it's against our conditioning to not have to do anything, it feels very country intuitive. Hope you are well my friend :)
To the person reading this: You're secure. You're more than sufficient. You're just as you should be. You'll handle this, just like your past triumphs. And never forget, this too shall pass. 🌞🌠🌟
Really nice and useful video. Th is is the second time I am watching it, and this time I was able to watch the first 20 min without falling asleep because it is very relaxing 😊
Once again, thanks for removing the scale from my eyes. I really enjoyed the video. The effect the technique has on awareness is impressive but it also helps me appreciate what I actually have rather than forgetting about things that actually mean a lot to me. Age may have something to do with this but it is helpful to know there is something I can do to re-awaken memories and feelings by basically doing nothing. Effortless action - wu wei I seem to remember.
Oh I love the phrase effortless action! I'll have to do some research on that. And perfect, next week's session is all about focusing on positivity instead of negativity through intentional positive thoughts, I hope you enjoy it :)
Hello Maple amiga, How was your weekend, is everything okay? I'm still on vacation and it's perfect 😊💕 I really liked the first part of the video and now I'm liking the second part more. It's making me relax and enjoying the video, friend 😊❤✨
That's completely fair! ASMR is such a subjective area and everyone has their own preferences. I just like to mix it up all the time to keep things interesting for myself :) So glad you're enjoying!
Ads.. they are the antithesis of mindfulness because every 13 seconds you’re swatting away another ad. Makes me wish android could lose most of its market share to iOS because of the ocean of garbage ads. You can see the difference because Apple isn’t at war with ad blockers.
Hmm I've never heard about the difference between android and iOS, that's interesting! And I agree, they're literally designed to distract us and occupy our time. I wish more people understood that our time is our most valuable resource!
@@MapleWhispersASMR That's a great point - especially if you were to add up the grand total amount of our time ads take up during the year, I'm sure it would be eye-opening. I understand we need to keep the economy going, but I'm sure it's only a small percentage of ads that actually do the job of getting us to spend money on something we need.
@@BenChanNYC Whenever I see one of those super weird phone game ads, I think, how much time went into planning, making, and watching this 30 second pile of weirdness?? The human race could do so many great things if we actually spent our time wisely 😅

Yes! It was actually quite a struggle through Late December/Early Jan, so this series is also motivating myself with all the research I have to do!
Awareness is way too underrated. In a society that makes us feel guilty whenever we take a moment for ourselves, this is all I need right now
