Congrats! You were just randomly selected as the winner of our Mystery Deck Giveaway. We will also message you directly with details on how to claim your 25 Mystery Decks. Cheers and Happy New Year from Dan and Dave.
After all these years, it feels like such a privilege to see both Dan & Dave join for a 25-minute video. We've truly been spoiled. Thanks for suffering through filming this a second time for all of us to enjoy :)
Two hours till my New Year and I still have hopes to win these! Congratulations on the amazing work! I hope 2023 will bring a lot more new decks and epiphanies for our curious minds! 😉
It would be really funny if the guy with over 63% chance of winning (aka the one who decided to turn this video into a Guinness World Record for most inane comments ever) didn't win.
I believe it's possible LMAO. fair to anyone else who won, honestly. edit: speaking of, I believe it's past midnight on San Diego right now, so I'll be waiting for whatever news is coming this way
@@VincentTj__ Don't really like the session being messed up like this but I like your humor. And after I scrolled to the end I found you're not the first one doing that but definitely the hard working one.
400th Entry WOO! another hundred! guess it's time for a little fun fact? It's already new years in some countries in the world, BUT. Art of Play is based in the united states. well, so I hope, and sure hope these comments still count for the giveaways! (I'm keeping an eye on google's answer regarding "what time is it now in the United States" ;) )
Enemy 585!! (yes, it's actually a name of a thing. An old web-flash game made by Nitrome released on November 9, 2010. I still haven't finished it yet lol but I love Nitrome!! partially kept going until 500ths just to say this)
Entry 302 also happy new year to you @Erika! (I keep refreshing comments by newest to see if youtube actually registers them or it's time to switch accounts lol)
Entry 805! Relevant year in magic: in 1805, Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin was born. He is considered "Father of Modern Magic", who brought it from being a street or Circus show to an elegant stage or drawing room setting. Interesting.
Entry 100! normally I'd stop here. but 2 different guys are doing this at 70, so I figured why not do even more? maybe 1000 is not as crazy as it sounds...
Entry 997. Another notable year in magic! In 1997, Val Valentino / The Masked Magician starts airing "Breaking the Magician's Code". To be exact this aired originally on November. Also apparently David Blaine brought and popularized Street Magic in america. As a kid, my first exposure to magic truly was The Masked Magician, so it's nice to read about it :p
Entry 940. Apparently another notable year in magic: Edward M. Massey invents the "Finger Chopper" trick, regarded as many young magician's first trick. I assume they meant the illusion of separating your thumbs using two halves obscured? neat trick. Definitely my first trick lol. edit: I guess it's not. googling finger chopper reveals a guillotine-looking device, which is definitely a fun prop. maybe I should own one.
Entry 968. Notable year in magic. In 1968, the book "Thirteen Steps to Mentalism" was published. one of the most famous books regarding mentalism. sounds neat.
Entry 433 (yep, when i refresh clicking "sort by newest" sometimes the count updates, sometimes it doesn't, it goes back to -4 then jumps to another +4. weird).
Entry 926: a notable and sad year in magic. Harry Houdini died on 1926. upon reading more, it turns out someone repeatedly beat him after he was asked "so you can endure a lot of punches to the stomach?". he went on to perform despite being very sick, having a high fever, and even passed out on stage, briefly revived and kept going. then he was hospitalized. This man is... a great performer.
Hi there people at Art Of Play! So I subscribed to your newsletters and the annual mytery deck sale but never got that chance to actually order some from your website. I thought by subscribing I would be "entitled" to have a chance on buying them? How do I get my hands on a set? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for subscribing! Our Mystery Decks come out in December and are available until sold out. Our subscribers get advance notice of new releases, promotions, sales, and exclusive items.
Entry 992. Notable Year in Magic (that did not get covered by the wikipedia page "Timeline of Magic" lol!). The book "Card College Volume 1" was published by Roberto Giobbi. and apparently it's a pretty good book series for any magician, recently considered to be "better than 'expert at the card table' " or other classics by some. Obviously arguable, but I'll believe it :p
Entry 902!! very notable year in popular magic. The book "Expert at the Card Table" by S.W. Erdnase was published. Considered the most important book for learning magic and still recommended until this day, although "Card College" has been going around as an alternative recommendation, written by Roberto Giobbi :D
Entry 900!! oh wow. well. I'm still opening the wikipedia page for timeline of magic and there's a lot of neat facts. I'm normally more of a gamer than a magician, but these decks are so nice that I gotta pull through my last 100 comments... or more? :p
Entry 750.... can you believe it? I'm 3/4ths to 1000... I don't know if Dan & Dave expected someone to really leave 1000 comments or it was just a hypothetical example.. but at this point I should probably not give up before 1000 comments.. right?
Entry 504 oh also I just noticed I did leave 500 comments huh.. granted some of it is on the other account, but I'm really halfway to what Dan & Dave said as an example!
Entry 500!! (fun fact I guess? I just tried to post this comment using my other account that seemed to not be able to leave comments here.. suffice to say it's still blocked loll??)
Entry 600!! fun fact: It turns out I already left 33 serious comments when the comment counter said there's 216 comments, on December 26, at 4.53 AM my local time! so if you wanna look for it, well you gotta scroll past another 1000 comment from this point on, roughly! :p
Entry 777!!! jackpot!! :D (fun fact: 7 is a lucky number.. I hope i'm lucky enough to win? I got here fair and square typing comments LOL) (also I never even played slot machines lol but I know "7" is one of the most famously used icons for slot machines.. on account of well, being a lucky number... I reckon there should be special rewards if you get Triple 7 instead of Triple Cherries or whatever)
Entry 876. Notable Year in Magic: in 1876, the book "Modern Magic" was released. Kind of funny since that book is definitely ancient by todays' standards, logically :p also hey it's a descending sequence of numbers. neat.
Entry 1000! wow. it's been a journey. from doing funfacts that aren't all that fun in every Hundredth's entry, I am surprised that I really left a total of 1000 comments with the first 120-ish on my 2nd account. That's not counting the 30 comments before that where I talk about cards in a more serious, less-copy-pasted manner!. clearly I should stop... unless...
Entry 800!! fun fact: now I decided to google "Notable years in magic" which leads me to a wikipedia page titled "Timeline of Magic". fascinating stuff. some of these years can be referenced in my following entries :p
Entry 994: Apparently a notable year in magic, where in 1994 WorldWideWeb sites (WWW sites) and online sites for magic started appearing. Soon changing the way we learn and distribute magic things :D. My first time wanting a deck of cards is from seeing cards sold by Ellusionist so that's nice. This year, as i've said like 1000 comments ago, is the year I start collecting playing cards :p
On a separate note, thank you for all these years of professionalism and generosity. Here's to another 100!
Happy New Year, D&D! Please keep coming up with wonderful decks in 2023! *fingers crossed for the giveaway*🍀

@@VincentTj__ Indeed it is possible, but the odds are in your favor 🤗
I hope Dan & Dave come up with better giveaway rules next time 😶 they didn't deserve to get this mess in their comment section. Good luck 🍀
@@VincentTj__ Don't really like the session being messed up like this but I like your humor. And after I scrolled to the end I found you're not the first one doing that but definitely the hard working one.
@@SansWordHuang lmao wild, they already announced that I'm not getting it this time though lol, but thanks, I appreciate it!

Entry 998 apparently another notable year in magic. in 1998, World of Illusion launched the career of Criss Angel.
Entry 963: A notable year in magic. in 1963 the Magic Castle was formed. neat
When will the giveaway response be announced? I want to know if I have to make room in my collection or not 😁
