Probably one of the most common issues. I'm still trying to find out why they go bad so often. I think it might be dry rot from lack of circulation if it's been sitting too long. Your 2024 might have been sitting at the dealership for a while before you got it.
Would of been a good video if there was specific directions. When I pulled out the casing 2 washers came off a copper and a black and I have no idea where they go.
did you figure out where those washers goes? I pulled my cover off of my 2007 yfz 450 and had a copper washer fall out. I did not see a black washer. Please let me know if you figured it out. thanks
@@JensEskildsen there is no such washer on the diagram. It's the oddest thing. Not sure what to do other than have conversation about it and hopefully someone will know the solution
I just bought a 2006 yfz, and there's this little hose coming down from under the water pump...i haven't opened it up to see what it is suppose to do. what can it be?
when i pulled the cover off a copper washer fell down from inside of the cover. After searching the part diagram from yamaha f yfz 450 there is no such part. Obviously its not the empellar it something else . Any help would appreciated since i do not want to reinstall everything back together and not have this copper washer somewhere that is needed.
@@1mandrywallarmytv144 @1ManDrywallArmyTV not a problem. I got a couple yfz 450's in the shop right now for a customer. I had to bring up a video because he didn't understand why im taking the case off. Lol
Coolant will leak from the weep hole at the bottom of the case under the water pump. There's a small hose that directs towards the back of the case. Check the rear of your skid plate for fluid.
If you let the inner seal fail, you will leak coolant into your oil which is obviously a no no. So it's not just worth it, it's necessary asap once you notice coolant leaking.
Many thanks for your vedio, I have replaced my yfz450 - 2008 water seals and gaskit 👍🏾.. Gave you BIG LIKE
In case the seal goes bad the hose just directs the coolant downward, this is called a weep hole
If my weep hole is leaking what Seal is it?
@@omarchavez1144 it’s not a specific one, the weep hole just means the seals are bad and it’s time to replace them
Great help. Thanks for posting !

Where you get the tool to pull the impeller out?
You can remove the impeller with a 1/4" drive and socket. Put the bike in gear, use the rear brake, and give it a good firm swing. Should go off easy.
What was that piece you put in before you put the case back on
little cylinder that's for oil or coolant i forget
I have a 2024 YFZ 450R with not even 13 hours on it and the water pump seal just went bad! Is that common? Why did it go bad so quickly?

Impeller or shaft might be going bad which releases small bits of metal into the coolant system.

It's crush washer. When you took the case off it fell off from the bottom of the oil line that went into the top of the case.

How do u know if it's bad

And how to u get a stuck side cover off
First timer here. I have a 2006 yfz 450 special edition. I removed the engine side case today. It wast hard at all.
Heat and a rubber dead blow.
