As a newcomer just checking this out, I really appreciate the breakdown of all the pledges/boxes. As you mention in the video, it seems like they're targeting previous backers, because I don't think they explained it very well for new people.
Yeah i feel its very common for returning campaigns to focus on the people coming back for more over pulling newcomers in, I felt the same with aeons tresspass and gloomhaven recently also.
What is the gameplay experience like? Maybe it is telling that you haven't actually sat down for a good play of the game. Thanks for a great video - helped me to unback! :D

I am a returning backer, with plenty of content for Arena and Tanares, including the dragon and legendary boxes. I didn't back the rpg minis and so am going to pick those up this time, along with the update pack. I may change this for the big box option in the pledge manager. I have painted and played Arena as one offs but haven't started on Tanares. I could get all the current Tanares content painted before this one delivers? Or I could do if I didn't have about 20 other projects to build and/or paint!?
I know the feeling of having too much go paint haha, I plan to record myself painting minis and use the footage for this channel and thats a good motivation for me to get through my painting backlog and will make me get better at painting too.
@@haxan6663 Sometimes I do feel alot of the board game stuff i'm collecting I'll hold onto for decades and still get enjoyment from when I'm older so I do hope i still enjoy the hobby in the future, I still hope I can make the time now though!
This game confuses me a bit. I just want to play a dungeon crawler, akin to Middara or Chronicles of Drunagor, but I’m not sure exactly what Tanares is offering in that vein. I NEED to have Arena in order to play adventures, although Arena is your standard pvp board game right? Do I need to play Arena before hand, or can I just jump into Adventures? I have no intention of playing a regular pvp game. Also, there are so many other character/villain boxes. Are these characters not at all part of the main story, so I should not worry about missing them?
Yeah I understand they did make it in a confusing way, If you get the ultimate tanares 189 dollar pledge you get a single box that has all the tanares adventures and arena the contest content. Arena has its own co-op mode but tanares was made as an expansion which is more complex and has more story, missions, mechanics and is a campaign based system where you play around 20 quests out of the 100 in the journal depending on the choices you make during the game. Standee version for $129 is also arena and tanares but a slim down version with standees instead of minis. You can jump into either arena or tanares but this new campaign is remaking all the co-op content from arena in the new tanares campaign system with improvements The penumbral pack (full) in the campaign which is in the super box pledge gives you an extra campaign which is more challenging and you play after a tanares campaign, includes all the new characters and monsters added from the RPG campaign. This is in the superbox full pledge which pretty much gives you all the co-op content for tanares, the all in level above this gives you dragon minis, monster minis etc which you dont need to play the game. The channel Phlanx06 has many videos covering it and they work with Dragori games, have one called playlist called meeting tanares adventures you might find that useful. I plan on starting the campaign this weekend and making a first impressions video on the experience also!

This game is special, and the recent changes are excellent. Incredible value here and the painted minis are beautiful.

@BoredGameShenanigans I paint nearly every day, but there is always something to do. Wouldn't have it any other way, of course?
Wow everyday! Sometimes I have a week where I can't find the time to do anything board game related playing and painting lol
