- Join me for a Saturday walk in beautiful Winchester, Kentucky. This is the seat of Clark County and has beautiful sights to see. It's got great restaurants and plenty of southern charm. The people here are hard working, honest, and hospitable. Be sure to visit!!

Thank you so much for posting this! My great x 5 grandfather was born in Winchester in 1801. I read that they named the town from where he and the large group of people came from in Winchester, Virginia

I recall that when I was a kid in the 1960s, the Brown Proctor had a very cool brick turret which was removed due to structural concerns.
@@sammyday3341 Yes you are correct. I'm not for sure when it was removed but it has been a long time. There is a picture of it on the building down in the lobby here at Brown Proctor.

The oldest building in Winchester is the Clark Mansion also known as Holly Rood. It was built in 1813.
