The H2M mod was also shut down a day before release, as Activision was worried that it would affect the amount of BO6 sales. The connection is that these both happen a day before something Call of Duty-related, and they both have to do with Activision being greedy

They released a big expansion, Warlords of New York, with 4 seasons of content after that, and kept a big playerbase through the pandemic. Ubisoft had Massive abandon the game right after despite its success, moved most of the veteran devs off the game, and gave the story an anticlimactic and rushed ending. 6 months later, they go “wait TD2 has players” and put a skeleton crew onto the game who have bumbled around and wrecked the game ever since because they had 5-6 guys at Massive find a bunch of new devs who barely know what they’re doing and make strange gameplay decisions. It doesn’t take a conspiracy for Ubisoft to make crippling decisions. Also, the next 2 faction leaks aren’t new, a dataminer already said those before Season 1 launched.

Cant disagree, the fact that they took Devs away to initially make heartlands and then star wars is a complete joke (considering one was cancelled and the other straight up failed). The fact that now whenever a new update comes players will talk about what's gonna be broken rather than fixed is a clear indication that something is clearly wrong with the management of the game at this point in its lifecycle.

Content of having Campaign, Zombies and Multiplayer. Don't act as if we're not using the same weapons that we've been using for years on XDefiant. There's more maps in COD, Prestige, more weapons, Unique Camo challenges, better net code. This game is good but it lacks content. I don't like modern CODs but it definitely offers much more than what XDefiants offers. Everyone was using the same damn weapons in this game, game was sweaty as fuck even though SBMM didn't exist, everyone was Slide jumping, Strafe jumping everywhere. People acted as if this was the COD killer and that was exactly what killed this game.
Honestly, the game is fantastic. I can see XDefiant staying relevant for years, while BO6 will likely be forgotten, buried under the yearly CoD releases that keep splitting the player base.

Lets be real. Ubisoft itself sabotaged XDefiant. The engine being the same for The Division instead of using the engine for Rainbow Six Siege. Taking so long after the beta to release and nothing noteworthy was added in that timeframe. Still existing issues (hit registration being bad, hitting the same button multiple times to throw a grenade, etc). Ubisoft as a company has been pretty bad for a long time at this point. Look at their stock value, 20 dollars in February 2021 to 2.61 as of today. They let so many brands and game options die or get mismanaged. Look at Rainbow Six Extraction, cool idea and most embarrassing execution. It even lacked letting players use skins from Siege in Extraction and vice versa which would have made people a little more willing to play. Splinter Cell has been dead for just over a decade. Ghost Recon became a looter shooter when it could have gone back to something more along the lines of Phantoms, Future Soldier, and Advanced Warfighter and become a fun 3rd person shooter. Even Ghost Recon Frontlines could have been a good game if they didn't fumble it and make a Battle Royale with it. The company is like Sideshow Bob continually stepping on rakes.

I've played quite a few FPS games but i have never played a single CoD game before, but i played the Beta and i genuinely had a good time. For an FPS game the guns feel fun, the animations are great, the maps are decent, and i like the gamemodes and progression. one of the most fun FPS games i have ever played.

mark recently tweeted that the game is doing phenomenal even with player drops. They have huge plans in the works. Season 3 will be bigger than 1 and 2 combined and season 2 is about to be a banger with SND and customs.
Unfortunately XDefiant is eventually going to fizzle out like all "COD Killers" do. As someone who plays a variety of FPS games this game appeals to nearly only COD fans. This game has no pull on any other fps community like R6, Battlefield, Halo, Titanfall, Valorant, Overwatch, etc the mechanics, maps, gameplay is all call of duty influenced and when you do that the game is doomed to fall quickly because COD fans will complain all they want but 95 percent of them will never play anything else
Coming from a corporate environment, I highly doubt they decided to just fire off 10 employees on a profitable, successful project. I wouldn't be surprised if they were simply contract workers that were part of the initial development of the game, but wouldn't necessarily be part of the ongoing team. Makes sense, too, for the team restructuring as they pivot from development to maintenance and optimization.
forget the fact Ubisoft have had some massively under-performing games releases - Avatar, Outlaws, Mirage, skull and bones.....think Xdefiant is probably one of their best performing games the last 6/9 months

Sure, a lot of people tried this game when it first came out, but long term how many will stay? I hate to say it as I'm not a fan, but I think these other games have SBMM for a reason - it retains more casual players, at the cost of alienating the hardcore players, which are probably a smaller population size than the casuals.

Doesn’t even make sense. The game had a profound launch. Ubisoft knows from personal expected that a good launch to player dip can still pay off. Look at siege. Look at for honor. Their best multiplayer games are games that had a strong launch, lost all their players and then had a profound comeback. I'm glad we're talking about this. I was one of the people who commented about Tom Henderson's article on your vid. While I really hopeful seeing that you have a solid rebuttal personally speaking I have been facing issues finding matches in European servers and Asian servers. It takes at minimum 10 minutes at night for me, which I believe is the "peak", and then 15+ minutes during daytime which feels like the dead hours. There's definitely a big dip in the playerbase and honestly its painful for me now.

Yeah west coast here it takes 5 minutes for to find a match over this past double xp weekend in the 24/7 maps I think it has a really bad problem with player base definitely rather ride this train out then spend money on the IRS of the gaming world (COD) pay $70 for a glitchy game then 30 for battle pass each season.
@ricinquill Do you have the same times on the Asian and European servers? I'm playing on Eu servers and while it is true that it takes longer now to find a match, it rarely takes me more than 1-2 Minutes.
XDefiant will probably be my FPS of choice for the next couple of years if they keep coming out with good content. Rockefeller is easily one of, if not, my favorite map in the game and I’m interested to see how things will play out in the later seasons. Only thing I think needs to be fixed (and fixed ASAP) is the servers. Also, I hope Mark Rubin’s Mom is doing okay. ❤️

Only real thing that xDefiant needs to fix is the delay between what server sees and what client does. Like its driving me crazy that i hear and see hitmarkers but in killcam enemy has max hp or has not taken dmg from my last bullet that in my screen i hit, heard the sound and see the hitmarker.
Cod betas are always a 2 months before release, and saying black ops 6 is being released earlier than any other cod game has been, its means the beta come out earlier too, xdefiant was fun for a few weeks

How are people defending Call of Duty/Activision? I see a lot of people saying “no content” but can you explain to me what content CoD is providing? The “community” keeps giving them excuses to recycle REUSED maps and content for about a decade. “We want old WZ back, we want the Kar 98 back”. They have reused the same weapons, maps, playlists for years. You wanna know what content they have brought? STORAGE SIZE, MORE STORAGE SIZE. THATS IT. Their campaign was legit warzone, their zombies was WARZONE, AND THEIR WARZONE MAP SUCKS. They have released a handful of new maps and they SUCK.

Content of having Campaign, Zombies and Multiplayer. Don't act as if we're not using the same weapons that we've been using for years on XDefiant. There's more maps in COD, Prestige, more weapons, Unique Camo challenges, better net code. This game is good but it lacks content. I don't like modern CODs but it definitely offers much more than what XDefiants offers. Everyone was using the same damn weapons in this game, game was sweaty as fuck even though SBMM didn't exist, everyone was Slide jumping, Strafe jumping everywhere.
People acted as if this was the COD killer and that was exactly what killed this game.

Lets be real. Ubisoft itself sabotaged XDefiant. The engine being the same for The Division instead of using the engine for Rainbow Six Siege. Taking so long after the beta to release and nothing noteworthy was added in that timeframe. Still existing issues (hit registration being bad, hitting the same button multiple times to throw a grenade, etc).
Ubisoft as a company has been pretty bad for a long time at this point. Look at their stock value, 20 dollars in February 2021 to 2.61 as of today. They let so many brands and game options die or get mismanaged. Look at Rainbow Six Extraction, cool idea and most embarrassing execution. It even lacked letting players use skins from Siege in Extraction and vice versa which would have made people a little more willing to play. Splinter Cell has been dead for just over a decade. Ghost Recon became a looter shooter when it could have gone back to something more along the lines of Phantoms, Future Soldier, and Advanced Warfighter and become a fun 3rd person shooter. Even Ghost Recon Frontlines could have been a good game if they didn't fumble it and make a Battle Royale with it. The company is like Sideshow Bob continually stepping on rakes.

I've played quite a few FPS games but i have never played a single CoD game before, but i played the Beta and i genuinely had a good time. For an FPS game the guns feel fun, the animations are great, the maps are decent, and i like the gamemodes and progression. one of the most fun FPS games i have ever played.

Unfortunately XDefiant is eventually going to fizzle out like all "COD Killers" do. As someone who plays a variety of FPS games this game appeals to nearly only COD fans. This game has no pull on any other fps community like R6, Battlefield, Halo, Titanfall, Valorant, Overwatch, etc the mechanics, maps, gameplay is all call of duty influenced and when you do that the game is doomed to fall quickly because COD fans will complain all they want but 95 percent of them will never play anything else
Coming from a corporate environment, I highly doubt they decided to just fire off 10 employees on a profitable, successful project. I wouldn't be surprised if they were simply contract workers that were part of the initial development of the game, but wouldn't necessarily be part of the ongoing team. Makes sense, too, for the team restructuring as they pivot from development to maintenance and optimization.

I hope the game succeeds. I hate how it plays and 80 percent of the weapons feel absolutely unwieldy to use and the characters look off but I genuinely hope this game succeeds. Its the only game from ubisoft I feel has a place in the free to play community that needs to prosper.

I'm glad we're talking about this. I was one of the people who commented about Tom Henderson's article on your vid. While I really hopeful seeing that you have a solid rebuttal personally speaking I have been facing issues finding matches in European servers and Asian servers. It takes at minimum 10 minutes at night for me, which I believe is the "peak", and then 15+ minutes during daytime which feels like the dead hours. There's definitely a big dip in the playerbase and honestly its painful for me now.
The drop in players is def real. The game losing support isn't. Ubi wants this to succeed badly. Season 2 will hopefully help that out.

Yeah west coast here it takes 5 minutes for to find a match over this past double xp weekend in the 24/7 maps I think it has a really bad problem with player base definitely rather ride this train out then spend money on the IRS of the gaming world (COD) pay $70 for a glitchy game then 30 for battle pass each season.

XDefiant will probably be my FPS of choice for the next couple of years if they keep coming out with good content. Rockefeller is easily one of, if not, my favorite map in the game and I’m interested to see how things will play out in the later seasons. Only thing I think needs to be fixed (and fixed ASAP) is the servers. Also, I hope Mark Rubin’s Mom is doing okay. ❤️

Even though XDefiant has definitely fallen off over the last couple of months and I really think those servers have just got to go, I would still rather support that game over the new era of CoD. To me, the modern era of CoD is nothing short of a cash grab that manipulates you into thinking that you’re better at the game than you actually are (a la SBMM) to entice you to buy these garbage, overpriced bundles that are literally being made with A.I., all the while the things you complain about literally every single year will never be fixed either because of incompetent developers or Activision won’t let them mixed in with the fact that these people simply make way too much money for any change to happen. It’s just a cycle that keeps repeating itself, which I was really hoping that they would just do away with in 2023 after those leaks were coming out…but no. Only real thing that xDefiant needs to fix is the delay between what server sees and what client does. Like its driving me crazy that i hear and see hitmarkers but in killcam enemy has max hp or has not taken dmg from my last bullet that in my screen i hit, heard the sound and see the hitmarker.

Cod betas are always a 2 months before release, and saying black ops 6 is being released earlier than any other cod game has been, its means the beta come out earlier too, xdefiant was fun for a few weeks
