  • A shallow angle of the front arm to the slide rail results in more of the force from the track pushing the snowmobile forward.

    To prevent trenching, it would help to have the torque arms lifted such that more force is applied on the snow to provide more traction. Is my reasoning correct?

    Where does the extra 2 wows come from? Wouldn’t it be 2.9 and 2.1 for the flatter angle? How does initial drive force increase over the drivetrain?

    I feel like I'm missing something. This makes no sense to me.
    You are ignoring the limit straps. As soon as they tighten up the system is locked and the torque arm angle does no longer matter.
    Another way to look at it: If only 66% of the power goes in to accelerating the snowmobile, where does the other 33% go? Heating up the torque arm? Lifting the snowmobile way up in to the sky?
    My conclusion is that the torque arm angle will not effect acceleration in this way. I think you should remove this video.

      The other 33 percent goes into fighting gravity, which is a force.

      @@stefanp7603 But force is not power. To accelerate you need power. A structural beam in a house fights gravity all day but that doesn't mean the beam uses or produces any power. Thats why we don't see accelerating houses. Power creates energy and energy can't simply vanish. Hence my question, where does the 33% power go if not to accelerate the snowmobile?
