- You never know what you will find in the dumpsters... and sometimes it is very upsetting.
You won't SEE anything without extreme filters in this video, but just know that today's find was very disturbing for me personally. If you are going to start diving, you need to be prepared for finds like this.

Oh, as an animal lover, I'd be so devastated to see that. How horrible, they couldn't bury the poor thing? How disrespectful to the poor animal. I'm sorry Julie that you saw that. Very sad.

That is such a shame that schools throw away books n workbooks that could be used by other children! Especially in lower income schools! Just hurts my heart!

Very true. Sometimes you actually find dead animals.
Sometimes worse.
Also I have found things that I have had to turn into police.its not always a nice candle smelling dumpster.

Reagan reminds me of my older son when he was young. He loved butter Flys. He would stand and let them on him.Where we went camping there was a spot were he found so many he would stay and just let them land on him. In the UK, livestock has to be destroyed when they have died etc. I just wish they would respect the animal and put in a place where it can be at peace. Another great dive

Thank you. I am glad things got better. I stared laughing when you were sitting in the dumpster tossing stuff out. I pictured someone walking past and seeing a book fly over the side of the dumpster, without seeing you.
My sister-in-law is a custodian at a high school. She got us a lot of stuff to replace what we lost in the fire. A hand mixer, kitchen utensils, bowls, and more. She's able to save it before it gets to the dumpster. I won't be able to check dumpsters this week. We're going to Missouri. I love that Reagan loves reading and nature. He is an awesome helper also. Some teachers that require the kids to do something in the front of the room like a speech or a science project things like that will record them so that the children can see themselves doing their activity and discuss things that they might've done differently

Here's something I hope folks (including PE teachers/Coaches) read, before throwing this item away!
If you happen to still have that old, beat-up rubber soccer ball you used in your soccer games between 1965 and 1982, DONT THROW IT AWAY, it could be worth some money.
WHY?
Because if it was used in soccer games, then there's a high probability it had a thin polyurethane rubber carcass (not like the vulcanized rubber soccer balls of today). So, if you got one that you have not thrown out, and it's very worn (forget about it holding air, this is not important right now), and it was used in soccer games over 40-50 years ago, than it could possibly put at least (I said at least) $100 in your pocket. Oh, and they don't make them anymore!!

Was game used in late 1960s / 1970s (not a backyard kickball)
Does not have "dry rot".
Minimum $100 for each ball!

Brings me back to first job.I worked for a vet.Dont know why,but some animals put in garbage cans.(In trash bags) Apparently,one was visable on trash day.I heard the garbage man almost had a heart attack!

There are people who have no way to bury animals. I lived in a trailer park and am now living in public housing. When an animal dies, there is nothing you can do but put them in the garbage. I always put mine in garbage bags though.
That's very sad and disrespectful to the animal. They deserve to be buried. Especially a pet.

I don't think they can call themselves true educators when they throw out so much perfectly fine educational stuff and supplies. Shame on them.

Here in flint,mi one man was dumpster diving (for metal) at a car shop and ripped a black bag open and found dismembered human remains. Thats one of my fears. The man that died was killed by his son :(.
It is a concern in the back of my mind every time I go.
It is also the one thing that would end my diving career. ☹

If you haven't watched many of our public school dumpster diving videos, I do want to warn you that many of them will be upsetting, for various reasons, but also informative and interesting.
We do our best to encourage change and to save what we can. ❤️❤️❤️
@thefrugalfamily6303 I don't get upset at what's in the dumpster unless it's an animal but it's a dump!! Ster so I'm sure there's alot of upsetting things in there humans are not ones to be to careful what they dump 😉 and yes I have watch your videos for a few years now and find them very interesting and informative. Your good at teaching the do's and don't s I think thats why I wanted to get into it sorta speak from watching you and a few others.
