Michigan was at a massive disadvantage after the sign-stealing "scandal" broke.
Referees were invariably biased, and let several blatant targeting calls against JJ McCarthy go without a whistle, while calling a penalty on every borderline "physical or foul" play of our defense.
144's road to a National Championship is a compelling, against-all-odds football story full of big hits, explosive plays, and just a few tablespoons of drama.
Not only that, the whole of it literally created unprecedented levels of interest in college football. The NCAA really should be thanking Harbaugh for all the extra eyes he brought to the sport, and the players should be thanking him for getting them paid.
Is there ever a point where the NCAA can (and will) be held responsible for their inability to protect ANY information they receive?
I get that no sane person would try to anonymously tell them anything at this point, and that has a "cost," but... are the people who work there accountable to anyone? It sure seems not.
It's just unfair that people found out more about how Michigan cheated for three years.
It might be against NCAA’s internal policy to leak info, but it’s not against the law

Just to clarify...
The article states that Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore could face a show-cause penalty and possibly a suspension for allegedly deleting a thread of 52 text messages. The messages were recovered via "device imaging" and Moore later produced them to enforcement staff.
This was disclosed to the university before Sherrone was promoted!

Webb worried about leaks-- instead of actual cheating or the facts. It's not a good way to start your video.
There is a history here. The NCAA's Derrick Crawford violated NCAA bylaws by leaking previously, while forbidding UM from addressing his allegations. Plus, at least 3 B1G schools (including OSU) shared UM signs before any of this occurred (a worse offense). There's clearly some bias within the NCAA.
And of course you start with the repeated leaks before getting into the substance.
This show is cute, like UM's little three year run. But you guys are small time, you play little ball. Looking forward to a return to normalcy with the 7-8 win seasons UM churns out. The seasons the college football world is accustomed to seeing from UM. Nothing personal - the university has developed a lot of great talent. I just think the Cheeze -It Bowl is a much better look on the program.

It fixes the price of athletes’ labor by setting comprehensive restrictions on compensation received by athletes. It fixes the amounts spent by competing athletic teams by setting limitations on recruiting expenditures, payments to athletes, on coaching numbers, etc. plus restrictions on off-campus scouting which is at issue in the case of Michigan. The NFL gets a pass from anti-trust liability because its salary caps are contained in a negotiated collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA. Any threatened penalty by the NCAA which potentially impacts current Michigan players’ financial interests, including their financial interest in winning championships, should be met by a players’ lawsuit. In addition, the Michigan players should threaten a strike against games against OSU, Oregon and/or Oregon. The players hold all the cards in a fight with the NCAA.
