Rings kept getting absorbed by the ceiling which made every hit either lose all rings or death. They should’ve patched that in the final update.

@@lordsoronexle Yeah I like sonic mania but holy hell is titanic monarch the worst zone. I was worried this was gonna repeat it's mistakes but the elements didnt outstay their welcome as much.
Except the area entrance on Triple Trouble 16 Bit is designed to look like the boss Rush door concept art from Sonic Xtreme.

0:42 - 1:02 The sudden "cuts" in this part are so good they feel illegal. It's like the track is so fast and intense that it literally outruns itself. I've never heard shifts like this. God damn, this whole OST is on par with Mania, I'll just say it out loud. This remake should become official.

This was such an awesome track for the final proper zone. Really hyped up the climax of the game, aside from just being rad in its own right.
Honestly 2022 was a great year for sonic fan games. We had the best two sonic fan games come out in the same year

Going into this before the beat drop was calming and felt non threatening
And then the beat dropped and everything changed for better or for worse
Even though this act is so painful the music was GREAT.
How come this is just a 16 bit music, yet it sounds more of a banger than the original one
Okay i'll finally say it. This music was such of big surprise for me, the act 1 song while it was good, it actually never interesed me as much as the act 2 song could do. But woah, i didn't expect that this song go this hard. And also how mind blowing this second act was, with the mechanic of Titanic Monarch Act 2 where you have to go throught diferent areas to unlock the last one, the amazing level design and awesome traps and badniks this zone in general has. And of course, the sub boss in the elevator section was also a surprise for me since i wasn't expecting a sub boss a-la-Kirby, how i would like to see more Sonic fan games with this kind of sub bosses, even if we already have the minor bosses per every act 1. After this zone we get to the final battle, which is basically the same as the original game but with 16 bits graphics. Simply epic.
This game has breaked all my expectatives, and this zone (Mostly the act 2) it's a great example of how to make a epic final level before the last battle.
It's absolutely incredible.

The switch at 1:00 was compelling and kept convincing me that I should keep trying. I died repeatedly then eventually got through it. Awesome music.

You know? This might be the best theme for any final stage in a 2D Sonic game.
Scrap Brain Zone's theme is decent, but nothing special.
Wing Fortress Zone's theme is pretty cool, but not quite as energetic or frantic as this one. It's a little slow paced for a level just before the final boss. Also, Death Egg Zone's theme in 2 is solid but is only heard for about 3 seconds normally, lol
Launch Base Zone's theme is the same as Wing Fortress. Cool music on its own, but not particularly 'epic' for a final zone.
Death Egg Zone? Again, solid theme, nothing spectacular.
Titanic Monarch? This one is a close second. It's definitely the best final level music out of all the official 2D 16-bit Sonic games. But I just think Atomic Destroyer (particularly, act 2) beats it out, quite frankly.

i like to imagine this game being an adaptation to the adventures of sonic the the hedgehog,and this stage is the finale where eggman kicks his plan into gear and sonic and tails have to try hard to save the day
