hey thanks for ruining it for everyone who hasn't watched it yet! lol just kidding, I knew if I watched this video or read the comments there was likely to be a spoiler. I kind of thought he would not win it , not because he isn't good but because the competition aspect of it and the fact he isn't cooking in the same way with the same things as he is used to. We all know he is great. I have tried many of his recipes and they have all been very good.
@@DrewOsmium It is a figure of speech, It is saying that he is so knowledgable compared to the other contestants that the amount of things he has forgotten how to do or gotten out of practice with over time is more than they have ever even learned in their entire life. it is just a way of saying the guy is very experienced, it is a high compliment that is not meant to be taken literally.
KENT IS THE MAN! I honestly looked forward to watching him. I love his utmost optimistic approach to life. He is hilarious, creative, motivating, and a breath of fresh air. He had some great one-liners!!!
They need to do it where the judges don’t see or know the names of the contestants so there is no favoritism or sympathy judgment based on family stories or whatever else just food
I am happy to see that I'm not alone in my disappointment. We were extremely disappointed in this season and how Kent Rollins was treated by both the show and the contestants. We too noticed a lack of air time for Kent, and it was his participation this season that led us to even bother to watch this season.
yes I agree, I would have never known about this show or watched it had Kent not been on it. I have so far only watched the first episode but was already very surprised by how he was given less airtime than any other contestant yet he is the most charismatic one of the bunch by a LONG shot.I wonder if they did that on purpose but if so what would have been the point ? did they not know that by him being on the show they were going to get hundreds of thousands of viewers just for him?
If you notice in the episode when kent cooks the pork chops everyone else told what they was cooking but we didn't find out what kent was cooking till it got in front of the judges they definitely didn't want him on the show
I have seen just the first episode so far but knowing he will be eliminated after three I know already that is as far as I will watch. the judges seem totally imcompetant already. not because they had him on the chopping block first episode , I think that was legit but just because they seem like idiots.

The judging was pathetic. Judges should not know whose food they are tasting until they score the food. It was quite clear there was an agenda. Winner had never smoked a brisket before the "showdown" Although an outstanding cook, she should have been eliminated for the poorly prepared brisket. .
yes and the judges were like picky eating children "I dont like spicy " "I dont like medium rare" what the heck? if you are in the position of someone who judges food you should be good with anything , it is not about their personal taste , or shouldn't be, it should be about wether the food was done properly or not. this was just a low class production all around if you ask me. I'm totally done after they removed kent off the show. Blown away on how judges play favoritism over real-life cooking. Yes, that part threw me off when kent put sauce on the meat and got a check, but other content did the same shit and got a pass. B.S
I didn’t see any of these shows but I do watch Kent’s TH-cam channel. As an old cowboy myself, I wouldn’t expect that he would be treated with respect from hearing the bios of the other people on the show. But it doesn’t matter, there isn’t a higher calling on this Earth than to be a cattle rancher or a cowboy.
I really was so upset when Kent left, I feel like he totally didn’t even get a chance to show his real skills off entirely! I wanted more of him! I love you Kent! THE COOLEST BARBECUING COWBOY IVE EVER SEEN WITH THE ABSOULUTE BEST POSITIVE PUNCHLINES!
Cowboy Kent should of stayed longer because the other people were giving the girl tips how to cook the fish and Shatika is a great cook but her proteins weren’t better then Gerald’s
I don’t agree with who won. It was a barbecue showdown, not just a cooking competition. The person they picked didn’t get the cook right on both proteins, the other person did. The other person also had a better understanding of barbecue cooking. Not fair.
As a Hispanic, we are always underrepresented even though we are the largest minority group. As for Cowboy Rollins, it was obvious from the first episode how little show time they gave him. It was always obvious who would be the finalists with how the judges would speak to them

Yeah I've just finished that episode and had to come see if people felt the same! Her brisket was absolutely shocking and fully expected her to go.... Oh wait do a burnt ends.... Her burnt ends are a shocking texture and not burnt ends and somehow still goes through 😂 tiny sized over cooked jerky burnt ends compared to Kareems actual burnt ends. I skipped season 2 and won't be watching another shocking judging.
They did Kent dirty by putting him in the bottom two during a cooking with fire episode. That's his specialty, how he makes his living. His competitor's fish was obviously undercooked, but they gave her a pass anyway. The good news is that Kent doesn't need this show since he and Shanno already have a large following on TH-cam.
I am highly disappointed that Kent did not win. I believe both the judges and contestants had a favoritism going on. Not only did Melissa not even know how to make brisket but when it came down to the fish she wasn’t doing that right either and ended up receiving help from the other contestants when they were shouting what she should be doing next which I find not fair at all. Kent did not receive that treatment. This elimination was completely unfair.
@Enjoyinglife06 noticed that as well. Other contestants telling the girl what to do to help. And of course the head to head was whole fish. She's from Florida and Kent up in Oklahoma. Up in Oklahoma they pretty much fry or blacken filets. Between that and the damn duck wings, this shit was rigged.
The final winner was definitely a political choice not even close to being the best cook in the competition. She was in the bottom 2 more than any other.
I don't watch these types of shows for the obvious reasons but based on what people are saying, I think Kent is in a class of his own and doesn't need to prove anything.. the proof is in the pudding as they say
Kent said in the first episode lol "Gonna cook til they kick me off anyway" he knew it was gonna be staged against him, but he still put on a hell of a barbecue
I wasn’t surprised at all when they got down to the bottom 3 had 3 black judges with 2 black contestants and 1 white gay woman.. I mean that seemed fair.. we new how this was going to go before they even started judging
Knew how it was gonna go down when they showed all the contestants sitting in a row infront of the camera and had Kent in the back with only half his face showing. Only watched cause of Kent and shut it off laughing when they eliminated him cause I knew." Gotta get this straight white guy outta here."
I love watching Kent…was very disappointed with the judges critiquing…they allowed the one chick to continue on after missing a good chunk of the challenge
Kevin was a dick to him. Kent has taught me so much about cooking, his food looked amazing on the show. Kevin was all over the place when explaining how he was going to judge "I don't want too much sauce I want to taste the meat" then when judge Kent he says 'meat is cooked perfect but if you make it through you need to get your seasoning right'
There's an episode in season 1 where it was between a contestant who didn't get their ice cream right (but their BBQ meat was perfect) and a contestant who didn't get their BBQ meat right. They kept them both in because the judges really didn't want to let the latter contestant go. The bias judging is obvious through season 1 and onwards.
One thing I noticed is that the if it doesn’t matches the judges taste you’re automatically on the bottom like not everyone has the same taste buds! I was kinda disappointed when Kent didn’t make it ngl I love his personality it’s like they put less priority on him during screen time
I think Kent was just extremely loveable and it's hard to see someone we love fail. I watched a few of Kents TH-cam videos before I saw season 3 so I was very excited to recognize a contestant I've seen before and I love his personality. Like Kent said, everyday is a blessing; his wife loves him and the dogs don't bite. He will be ok and will still send out much love through his cooking and sharing his videos. God bless him!! 🙏🏾❤️
That’s not a true statement. Sloan didn’t make it to the finals. She should have won it. I would have been ok with Gerald winning, but Shaticka had no business winning. They were checking boxes and giving bias. Netflix dictated who they wanted in the Finals
Kent Rollins is the best...hands down ....... he blends cowboy style with great food and he is great. I knew he was "left out" of camera time,,, it was fixed as to who was to win!!
Kent was clearly outclassed when he got outside of his cowboy cooking style. He's not a pitmaster like Sloan was and his time management was terrible. I agree the judges were inconsistent with things like sauce, but Kent didn't deserve to win. No one here was there to taste the food which is a huge part of the judging. He was knocked multiple times for under-seasoning his food. I like his TH-cam content, but as soon as I saw him on the show I knew he wasn't going to do well.
I was hoping Kent would make it much further at top three or better in the latest season, but as many people have felt, I feel the same with how they treated Kent and dismiss his past cooking experience. Uncle Roger was the reason I binged through the entire 3 seasons just to see Kent on screen. 😢
The judges are pretentious assholes. The guy judge is ok but I can't stand the female judge. She thinks her crap doesn't stink. I was happily surprised to see Kent on the show but I'm not surprised they kicked him off early. His story and experience isn't one they want to promote. It doesn't check off enough boxes.
Kent is entertaining but it was clear from the beginning his food wasn’t as tasty as the others. He got dinged for his seasoning and flavor from the start. This was a cooking competition not a popularity contest.
Sloan got robbed! She was hands down the best pitmaster this season, heck, probably all 3 seasons if we're being honest. They should rename the show BBQ Sides Showdown at this point.
Glad I’m not the only one that feels Kent got the shaft, minimal coverage, inconsistent judging, we’re done watching the show, during the cook off Mellisa was coached by the other contestants on how to finish up, Kent did it on his own and had sides and a desert. Total BS. BTW Kent is a gem a humble man with a huge heart.
I just watched season three the other weekend and i'm still trying to rap my head around what I watched. I'm not gonna lie, Kent Rollins is my Go to guy. I was excited to watch this season with him in it. But The way the judges treated him compared to others and the lack of screen time he got was ridiculous. I've Been cooking barbecue briskets pull pork You name it For going on twenty years. And for somebody to win a competition A barbecue competition that has never cooked a brisket Blows my mind this is not even possible. This is like a prius winning at a muscle car show. I was. Absolutely dumbfounded when I saw this. I'm not gonna say that she's a bad cook. By any means, she has culinary experience and an education. That doesn't mean she can barbecue. But just by the look and the texture of what I saw on TV.And the fact that they didn't want to show much of her brisket leads me to believe that this was a rigged show. I was also again surprised at the last cook-off How a judge on one hand can use the words world championship ribs and then just a few hours later Not have World Champion ribs. I really enjoyed the first 2 seasons, but season 3 was a big disappointment. The one judge is constantly telling people what she likes and dislikes personally. About barbecue and her sensitive palate. Why don't you come over here to Arizona? We'll burn that dainty palate to the ground. All the contestants in season 3 I believe or amazing cooks but the Judges and the way Netflix treated everyone was definitely unfair. And seem to have underlying motives as to what they were doing.
Barbecue Showdown always does this especially with the older white male cooks. Kent Rollins was generous to us all when he shared that Sparkling Taters recipe. Woman from Kentucky had some of the best sauces the show had ever seen and got kicked off just the same. It’s clear Netflix would go DEI but I still mostly like the judges and the format. I probably wouldn’t have come across Kent Rollins without the show.
Yeah, I watched it through to the end but it was pretty clear that if you were not hocking idd ingredients, showing off expensive cooking gadgets, or not part of some disenfranchised part of society they didn't want you around. The two judges were people I've never heard of before or since and they never demonstrated any cooking capability whatsoever. In the one cookoff i think Kent was left with Duck feet and frog spit while everyone else had choice cuts of beef and pork. He cooked them. Even had side dishes and a dessert.
I watched seasons 2 and 3 all the way through and I'm sure everyone noticed how the winners in both seasons were black folks. Now I can see having a black win one season but not two. Sloan in season 2 won best cook in at least 3 contest but in the 3 person showdown they made her look like a newbie right off the turnip truck. 2 black judges and melissa cookston tore Sloan apart in favor of the other 2 black contestants. The show is "WOKE", "DEI" and a bit racist!
Well what did you expect when the show itself kept stressing how "diverse" it was, Kent was never in the running to win he was brought on as a token so the show could then be technically diverse.
I don’t always agree with Kent but he’s the real deal, not the latest woke DEI agenda contestant. Confirms my decision to unsubscribe Netflix a few months ago.
It wasn’t personal. He messed up on the duck wings. They were too tough. To be fair to Kent he said he’s never cooked Duck before. It was just one of those things. Couple of episodes earlier Kent said he’d relax on the seasoning because he believed his palate was more accustomed to salty food. In hindsight he should have just done his thing. I really find it rather uncomfortable when people start trying to insert set narrative into something that really ought not to be there.
No, but in the case of Kent Rollins his popularity comes from his decades of displayed skill and talent at traditional American cooking. The popularity of these "diversity" contestants is all surrounding their identity and origin story as made for tv pop culture characters to features compared to Kent who has lived decades stoically perfecting his craft. It is pretty clear that Kent didn't fit in with the 3rd season theme and agenda of highlighting the story of "special" identity people.
@@jamesberggren9029He is no hack, he is a humble hard working individual. If anything it is the diversity self esteem building solidarity cast mentored by ideological teachers, the Democrat party, and corporate diverse identity celebration messaging that are artificially reproducible hack personalities that are a dime a dozen nowadays used as tools of a party by being highlighted on TV. You can sell Biden leadership and proxy war in Ukraine if you distract with diversity fluff. No one mature takes personalities cultivated by the Federal Government message of them being the leaders of a social change movement seriously, they are the establishment not the change.
Oh look, a throw away account with no content making a hot take XD the entire show is a Diversity Popularity contest. They used Kent as the token easy to get rid of character. I bet you burn corn flakes
The judges have no business being judges for this show, Melissa Cookston can’t handle the slightest of heat and the guy Kevin Bludso gets upset when the food is cooked at med rare.
I did notice that kent was sitting the the back of the row. he was often behind all the other contestants. like he was the odd duck out... weird. he was berley even in the camera shot.

I’m proud American who believes that you need to stand up for what you believe in 💪 This ain’t it by a long shot!!!! Will our next president make a difference, let’s hope so 💪
Kent Rollins was suppressed in personal interviews and was hardly featured at all. Almost no screen time. It was a joke the way he was treated. The two "experts" who judged the cooks missed it very badly. Treating him badly revealed their lack of true knowledge. It was a joke.
When I saw k Kent on the show I was excited because he cooks traditional style over live fires all the time. Very disappointed with his screen time and the treatment of him.
Shaticka winning it all was a shitty choice! I prefer a showdown in which all contestants were not eliminated until the last episode, in so only three should go head to head in the final round! I would have like to see all the contestants in the different challenges. Even in season one, Rasheed should have won, and Logan in season 2 instead of Thyron.
I felt like Gerald should’ve won the other female just kept crying every time they were gonna vote her out definitely being a sob story got her through rounds
I love Kent, thats a big reason i’ve started watching this show. Very disappointing see him go like this and I stopped watching the rest after he left…..the judges were a joke to me… saw preference in others. Not worth watching. Kent love your cooking and show!!!!
Never watched the show BBQ Showdown or this channel. And I can tell you, that I will surely never watch it now. Kent can school all of them wannabe's.
We all know what they did and why they did it.
They did kareem dirty
Kent is a real deal, triple og, cowboy cook. His resume surpasses everyone on this show and that includes the judges.
Any time I hear the word diverse, I’m done.
They done Kent wrong never watch again they had there winner from the getgo
Right girl won the brisket challenge having never made one huh?!
I was hoping Kent would make it much further at top three or better in the latest season, but as many people have felt, I feel the same with how they treated Kent and dismiss his past cooking experience. Uncle Roger was the reason I binged through the entire 3 seasons just to see Kent on screen. 😢
It is clear they did not base their judgment of the food in this season the judges should not be able to see or know the name of the contestants
I dropped The Food Network and then I dropped Netflix, a long time ago.
It's bs that someone who doesn't know how to cook brisket won over Kareem. It's like they want to push black people.
Yup
They did kareem dirty
Kent is the only one on there that can actually cook real BBQ he's the only cowboy.
Sloan got robbed! She was hands down the best pitmaster this season, heck, probably all 3 seasons if we're being honest.
They should rename the show BBQ Sides Showdown at this point.
More like BBQ Sideshow 🤡 🤡
Kent can cool and slow you have to beat 40 years of experience.I’m on Kent side Christin GOD IS Beside him . Kent I’m with you
I thought i was the only one that realized he wasn't in the beginning very much then right before he was voted off they start showing him more!
I wouldn’t put Kent in the same culinary Q category as folks like Aaron Frankin and other top Q chefs. I like Kent for what he does but not for Q
Every season the winner been black
I was disappointed about the lack of airtime Kent had and was wondering about it.
Im not saying that kent should have won the show, but he should have at least made it a few more episodes
I just watched season three the other weekend and i'm still trying to rap my head around what I watched. I'm not gonna lie, Kent Rollins is my Go to guy. I was excited to watch this season with him in it. But
The way the judges treated him compared to others and the lack of screen time he got was ridiculous. I've
Been cooking barbecue briskets pull pork You name it For going on twenty years.
A typical liberal move on NetFlix's part !!!
I don't watch rigged tv shows. Shame on Netflix.
My fellow Oklahoman Kent got robbed. Smh Watching the Netflix showdown right now
Barbecue Showdown always does this especially with the older white male cooks.
I was sad to see Kent go, but I still believe this was fair.
One more reason I never subscribed to Nutflixs........typo was on purpose.....
Welcome to _Diversity TV_
Yeah huge surprise neflix kicked off the white male cowboy early one.
Its Netflix like Disney end of story
Well what did you expect when the show itself kept stressing how "diverse" it was, Kent was never in the running to win he was brought on as a token so the show could then be technically diverse.
I agree 100% , he was done wrong. I, too, stopped watching after he left.
I just watched episode 2 and was totally disappointed. I saw Kent for about 2 minutes in total...
The ABCDEFG + with the mowhawk will win.
Popularity doesn't equal skill and talent.
@@jannjordan3787 kent is a hack.
I originally wanted Kent to win and at the end I wanted Kareem to win
Also SLoan was robbed 😢
Lose bec, of a dessert
Though Judges repeatedly said she had the best bbq
I did notice that kent was sitting the the back of the row. he was often behind all the other contestants. like he was the odd duck out... weird. he was berley even in the camera shot.
I hope they all made a lot of money from Netflix.
Kent rollins is the best
There is no way a good old homegrown boy would ever win. 😢 stopped watching after the first episode as i could see how it was leaning.
Won't be watching anything Netflix. Ever.
Far as I’m concerned kent is the best of the best and got done wrong! What’s going on with my country that I love so much. Things have really changed for the worse in last presidential election.!!!
When I saw k
Kent on the show I was excited because he cooks traditional style over live fires all the time.
It felt alot like DEI.
I know this: If I was stuck somewhere and had to choose someone to be a cook in hard times, (as in remote isolation), Kent is the dude I would pick. The rest of them would be starving.
