Giro 2024 Week 2 Recap | THEMOVE

- Is there any slowing down Tadej Pogacar? This is the largest week 2 lead we have seen in the Giro since Eddy Merckx was racing. In theory, Pogacar would be conservative and conserve as much as possible for the Tour de France, however, when he pins on numbers, he races to win.

Kid wants to win stages, nothing wrong with that. Go for it Pogacar!
G Thomas said after the stage, "Pogi is Pogi. We are all the best of the rest."
By way, Pog did WIIN another stage... GOAT
I love watching Alaphillip race because, like Van der Poel, you can see the determination on his face.
He should put in as little effort as possible from here on and go for all three grand tours... that would be wild
Good show as usual, also great mention and tribute for Nairoman by Johan, great to see him back on the highest level!appreciated and greetings from Belgium 🎉
Has anyone else noticed that Max has the stage highlight show numbering all wrong? Plus, the 2 most recent highlight shows have no audio! I wish we could watch the Giro on Flosports in the U.S. Time to get a VPN.
Flosports has the same video feed but different commentators.
Pog doesn't need to use his team now. He can sit on Martinez if G goes, if Martinez goes then he sits on G. Both Ineos and Boro will pull him along. Easy street :) Forecast for tomorrow looks terrible!
Nah... Must go for 6 stages if he can. Didn't even waste much energy and not a single duel. Besides, teammates will be brand new. Break is perfect and shape will be stellar for the Tour. ;)
I would never want you in charge of a team
@@5508Vanderdekken Indeed, nobody is in charge of Pogi on the team ;)
My theory is Pogi was trying to build a comfortable lead as soon as possible to begin his post-Giro 'recovery' on the 3rd week, to maximise his chances to win TDF. Marginal gains.
Thanks for coming to the TGIF shakeout George! Stay mosca!
Johan, nos tienes abandonados! Ánimo, queremos contenido
I think Pogacar is going to just watch, monitor and see. If the GC riders ends up battling at the finish line and stage win is up for grab, I bet he'll sprint to beat them. It's a most efficient way to win a stage without burning his team and himself. If the opportunity to win a stage is there (without chasing the breakaway all day), he'll fight to win another stage. It's modern cycling you earn your reward by beating them, not gifting them.
How about the nationals in the U.S. ? Brandon Mc Nulty won the individual time trial!
Why would they talk about that in a giro recap
Another great recap! Thanks guys!
Haha. JB, honestly, your skin looks great. You look like you feel good!
Ivan Basso won the Giro '2006 more than 9mins.
Contador win by 5-6mins to Scarponi and Nibali in 2011.
What about the mountain jersey? Did I miss this part?
Don't put yourself down, JB. You look great. The gray hair gives you the Richard Gere look.
Ha. Too kind
Is it the Van Rysel bikes?
In the last week, Pogačar will certainly not go for a stage victory like the last one, but follow and jump at the end for the victory surely
Now has 5 stages. A machine.
Pogi Czar , Jonny Milan, Lulu, Top Ganna and Tantan Narvaez are animating this Giro going in the third week. That's my First Five in this race.
It’s very clear that Pogo races every stage of any race he is in TO WIN! No gap managing unless he is not feeling it.
The Italians don't seem to happy Pogacar is being so pigish. Watch the finishes, nobody cheering. I've seen them holding signs along the road telling Pog not to attack.
It won't get any better in France.
Are you kiding? Pogi has a huge fanbase here in Italy. Most of us suport him.
@@dizyaster7700 You should go troll someone else's comments. You have no proof you're Italian.
Pogacar has won 80,000 wins and he is six years old. It seems 😂
80,001.
Where is Lance???
I am incredulous that major bike races allow idiots to spew smoke from flares as the riders are gasping for air on the climbs. Seems ONE of the many motorcycle men could police that aspect. Not too difficult to find who is holding the flare.
Johan got mismatched the Paret-Peintre brothers
Why don't they do a podcast every day with lance?
Johan is WRONG. Pog NEEDS to win another stage. This is what makes him the greatest ever. Everything Lance ever wanted to be...
Ineos should try to make pogacar expend some energy, then it could pay off at the tour...
How
@@5508Vanderdekken great question. How?
Wet dreams for the bumbel bees and the pale Dane.
Lefevere is a genius. He got the best out of Alaphilippe with the media stunt. As soon as that happened I knew Alaphilippe would win a big race this year.
if it wasn't for Pogacar the Giro would be boring af just like previous years, thank god there is pogacar
What? No. It would be the opposite this year.
I strongly desagre. The fact he is there makes de giro extremly boring this year
It would be 100x more volatile if the winner was up in the air on the third week
This year is so much better than the battle between Roglic and Thomas last year. So much more exciting to watch Pogacar by himself.
@@ibrax1545 no, greatness is always better than mediocracy … i am tired of mid-tier dudes sprinting for seconds
There should be no comparisons between today's, apparently drug-free racing environment, and the doped up 1990s (Bugno, et al) or even Merckx....he was no Saint.
When something is too good to be true it usually is.💉💉💉💉💉Armstrong remember.😤🎪🤡🍅🤫🤐
they are all doped dummy always have been always will be
Yeah let's compare a sport that is completely different from the one 25 - 30 years ago.
Let It Go
Dude, his rivals are 38 year old GT and mid-tier guys like Martinez, O’Connor… c’mon…
@@oxenfurt89 he also had a tailwind on the sunday stage.
The effort was not that out of bounds, and he only won the stage by 27 seconds.
go EPO!
Prove it
Pogacar won Stage 16 without attacking. He just rode his own comfortable pace. To come in second or third would have required more effort from him than it did to win. Pogacar is the greatest bicycle racer in history, period.
If Pog relaxes and lets the other riders have their stages, then he will win the Giro. If he keeps attacking then something is bound to go wrong and the other teams will be like a bunch of hyenas on a lame zebra!! Its all down to Pog. 🦁or🫏
