    HCTimber, you are exactly right, at some point in the past someone addressed the problem of bats coming into the office by filling the gaps with foam. Believe me, I recognize the problem and have plans to address it. There are a few maintenance needs on the old office--window glazing and roof cap immediately come to mind. I don't think it would be too difficult to cut out the foam and fill the gaps with oakum at that time.
    This district has several historic buildings on the compound and we have been working with NPS' Western Heritage Restoration Center on repair, restoration, and preservation.

    It looks like some one did a modern repair with foam,sad to see this in a historical structure.
