- 福岡ソフトバンクホークスの川崎宗則選手に英語でインタビュー！ Munenori Kawasaki of the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks gave his first interview in English since returning to Japan on June 22nd at the Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome to Fukuoka Now. Kawasaki, who was born in Kagoshima, played for the Hawks in Fukuoka from 2003 to 2011. He then jumped to the Major Leagues playing for the Seattle Mariners in 2012 and then for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2013, 2014, and 2015 before moving to the Chicago Cubs (2016) and then back home to Fukuoka this spring. Kawasaki talks about his good times in the Majors, especially in Toronto, where he became a favorite amongst the fans, players and media for his fun-loving character. In this video Kawasaki sends out his greetings not only to Blue Jay fans but to all Canadians celebrating Canada 150th Anniversary on July 1st.

英語自体、特別上手くはないんだけど自信もって話すから会話として完成してる。
これある意味、外国語話す上で一番大切よね。使ってる単語のレベルとかしょーじき中学レベルぐらいだと思うけど、それでもちゃんと会話できてる。どれだけミスなく完璧に話すより、自分の持ってるもので自信持って伝えようとすることよね。そーゆー意味では、川崎はいい先生になりそう。

He became a free contract with Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in March, on his own. He said his nervous system was in disorder and he couldn’t move the way he wanted in the game.
But we Hawks fan believe Mune will be back! We all know his great contributions to the team!

His English is really impressive. I’m supervised how quick he can achieve fluency... and the more important thing than fluency is his confidence. He is confident and feels comfortable speaking English from his Day1.
