    After dabbling in hydropnics, I heard about the Kratky method. I asked myself - what is the kratkey method? It's just a different way of growing plants in hydroponics. The difference is that this method doesn't require a bubbler to supply oxygen into the water of which the plant needs. This was just a trial run for now to get used to this easy hydoponics option. i chose to grow lettuce in kratkey because i know that i can grow that in the winter using this hydroponic method. Growing lettuce in hydroponic is alot easier than you think.

    Thanks for video. So once you put them in the jug you didn't add any more water until harvest?

    • @TheAdhdGardener
      @TheAdhdGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope didn't need to add any more water🤷‍♀️ depending on what ya plant is how much they'll suck up water. Lettuce not so much but u can tell if you're running low by picking up the container u can always just add more. Some of my lettuce containers had leftover water whereas now for example I have Broccoli n tomatoes in kratky and boy do those suck up water.

    Can I out the jugs outdoors? What happens if it rains and rainwater drop into the jug?

    • @TheAdhdGardener
      @TheAdhdGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They shouldn't be exposed to the rain. U can put them under a tarp, in a greenhouse etc

    I bought a 25 lb package of the Masterblend mix, scales to measure by weight, and a kilo of MaxiGro. I bought a big package of those clay balls to experiment with because they`re reusable.

      @TheAdhdGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! I've learned since that video that foam pool noodle works great for holding the plant too! Sounds like you're gonna have fun growing!

      @@TheAdhdGardener I bought a pool noodle to experiment with. I`m at my sister`s house waiting to move into a 30 ft camper this Summer on a rural lot where I can have gardens and can`t do anything here. My nephew let his kid destroy one of my hydroponic gardens (that`s my fault for owning a garden as far as he`s concerned) and keeps opening my packages (he`s a prison guard) so I can`t wait to get out of here. I don`t want to make headlines.

    Why does your Kratky lettuce look all wrinkley?
    I think your nutrient mix might have too much nitrogen maybe?

    • @TheAdhdGardener
      @TheAdhdGardener  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the variety of lettuce. Some are more smoother n some are like that

    FYI.. your 12/12/6 grams per 5 gallon masterblend formula is for TOMATOS -... Leafy greens.. uses a 10/10/5 gram per 5 gallon formula. You know that right?

      no need to be weird and condescending, i have seen lots of people use the same mix for a variety of plants.
