  • These earnings show the softness of the Canadian economy relative to the U.S. economy, says Lyle Stein, president of Forvest Global Wealth Management.

My local Canadian Tire stores look quite different than what was just shown, they are a mess and dirty.

The problem with Canadian Tire today is how I can't walk in there, grab the thing I want and buy it. It's now behind a cabinet and you need someone to come unlock the cabinet. They don't have enough staff so oftentimes no one comes, and then you just leave without buying the thing you came for. Happened to me at least 5 times over the past year; I just don't go there for those things anymore.

@@rochester3 I understand the point of the cabinets, they don’t have sufficient staff to unlock said cabinets. I’ve waited 30 minutes before for someone to come, then just leave and go to Rona or Home Depot down the street.

I order that kind of stuff online and then pick it up. Theft is bad even the inventories are off.

@@Rick-fc5zr the price of the tire you see online is the price of the smallest size tire for your vehicle you must input the actual size then you see its more expensive. never search for tires on their website using your car it doesn't input correct tire size.

Canadians deciding on whether to buy cheap crap or feed and house themselves. We see what’s winning.

To return an item that cost $2.95, I had to wait for them to check that the item wasn't stolen first( they physically counted the items to make sure it matched there inventory records). Had a receipt. Worst part is the people I told this too had crazier stories than me. When customers are your enemy, your business will go under.

They raised the prices through the roof! I have completely stopped spending on anything for my yard or home and I am an avid shopper with money to spend, but I refuse to pay the prices they are charging nowadays! This news makes me happy because there a lot of people like me who are fed up and boycotting the price gouging is having an immense effect!! BRING DOWN THE PRICES!! The stores are a total mess as well!

Canadian tire is a cheap quality store loaded with poor quality products. We never shop there, ever. We avoid them.

Every business in Canada increases price but not the labour wages.

Those with high debt are not buying much. The rest are still spending and doing fine. The stupid ones who over leveraged are feeling it.

Raise the rates. That is what they want. Make it faster to afford a home again. 55 per cent house prices in Canada
