- COPS have released an update on the "sudden" death of RuPaul's Drag Race star The Vivienne.
James Lee Williams, who won the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and placed third on skating competition Dancing On Ice in 2023, died at the weekend aged 32.

@@getthebagnelly FYI it's very normal to refer to drag Queens as a she when they are dressed in drag or referring to their drag character. They don't tend to go by she when they are not in drag and just living their day to day normal life with their normal name 🙂

Congratulations. 35 years here. I look at it at it this way are addiction is so Insidious it's always laying in wait for us to have one weak moment. Either way they were able to enjoy many years of sobriety and success and are at peace and comfort wherever that may be. To be honest with you I hope they leave it at that. No one needs to hear the details. The likelihood of a healthy young man passing at 32 years old is very slim so let's just let things be. And for those in recovery just remember that it only takes one time.
As a BIG fan of RPDR, my heart broke when I saw this news.
She talked about her addiction issues. I really hope that’s not what happened but either way it’s so sad 😢

Viv's comedy sense and timing was exquisite. I can't stop thinking about her Little Red Riding Hood character on that AWESOME challenge that had Yvie as the Big Bad Wolf annd Jinkx losing a piggy ear and asking Ru to speak up. In a cast of LOOK AT ME ebtertainers, Viv's multi-accented Red was a stand out. What a delightful performer. In and out of drag this beautiful and talented human will be missed. Fly in perfection with the angels, my love. Say hello to my dear son if you meet him im your celestial journey. His name is Ryan.

I disagree. It is not disrespectful or "speaking ill" to rationalize and try to make sense of such a sudden death of a young person - especially when The Vivienne herself divulged she had a substance abuse problem in the past. I hope it's not the case, but there's a good chance it could be...either way she will be terribly missed because she was a force to be reckoned with in the drag world and sounds like a wonderful human being too. I will miss her dearly 😢

They spoke on Drag Race about addiction issues and a doctor had told them if they didnt stop using ketamine they would be dead by 30.

This isn't an update is it, I was hoping you might clarify if what I have been reading elsewhere is true or not, that it was bacterial meningitis. My prayers for their family and other loved ones, 32 is no age, it is incredibly sad.
