Beautifull video... I love Slovenia and Croatia... This railroad copies my favorite road from Prague through Ljubljana and Rijeka to Crikvenica and Cres.. ❤😊
Rijeka - Jurdani line is being modernized and upgraded for speeds up to 160kmph. €350 million investment will also see future link to Trieste and improved link to Ljubljana. BTW This line was built in 1860s, and not much has changed since. So major investment is needed on both sides of the border.
Fenomenalno. Btw this sunday-monday most likely half meter of snow in Gorski Kotar and Lika maybe even icy rain souther(still looking for 72h forecast for better placing of ciclone) . If u are around perfect to take train from Split to Zagreb. Becouse Zagreb Split is too late for filming.
It seems that the train's average speed up until the end of Ljubljana is around 100 km/h. Why does it then drop to around 70km/h - 80 km/h for the remainder of the Slovenian railway route even though the tracks are relatively straight?
@gamb61 I am not sure it is that, but I know that the tracks from Ljubljana in the direction of Koper are being renovated ...I would say that the beginning of the line is already finished.
Thank you very much for all your work and your great videos. I have been watching quite a lot of them, but I rarely saw any passengers waiting for the trains. All the stations look so empty. Is railway not used at all in Slovenia/Croatia, but if so, why do trains run then? Do you know anything about this?
@stephan6998 You are very welcome. I am glad that you like watching the videos and joining my journeys around the European railways. I mostly film the video during weekends, thats why the stations look abandoned. And now it was winter/spring time. If you go to those stations on Sunday morning they really look abandoned. There are less train during weekend, not many options, because there are not a lot of passengers.
Thanks for your response. I very much like the info in the lower left corner (speed etc) and I even more like the info about destinations at junctions where to tracks go. And of course the station names
Im kroatischen Teil der Strecke nur 40 oder maximal 50 km/h zu fahren, an der Grenze, wegen ein paar Kilometer die Lok zu wechseln, das ist Eisenbahn in Europa!! Schade. Wenigstens modernisieren die Slowenen ihre Abschnitte großzügig. Danke für dieses erstklassige Video. Sorry, in german.
@bahnkolejvlaky1419 unfortunately, there was a wild animal, most probably a deer, that wanted to cross the line and didn't make it. Probably a couple of days before the video was filmed.

That's nothing out of the ordinary, here in Germany it happens dozens of times every day. But mostly it hits deer, so you don't see many traces of such accidents, not even with snow.

@wolfgangfuchs1243 it is ok. I translate the comments with the online translator. I guess the terrain is difficult and the speed is like it is.
