That GE inlet box is the perfect inlet box. Most of inlet boxes I’ve seen are a lot smaller. Great choice. I’m gonna go with that box as well
Thank you for sharing. Working on a "what do I need" list to setup a Westinghouse generator for our home.
Best of luck, let me know if you have any questions
Much wiggle room is appriciated.
I have that GE box and hated it. You can plug in.. but getting the plug back out was a real bitch.. I gladly replaced it
Which one did you replace it with? Looking for one now. Thanks
Any issues with wasps building a nest in the open space? 🙏
YES!!!!!, but....... there is a solution.
Go on ebay (seller: frank96) Search : GE 50 amp twist lock inlet model# T050N cover piece $24.00. If you have the GE 30, he has that one for sale as well.
Hope this helps, thanks for watching, please don't forget to hit the like and subscribe button.
@@gilbosdiy Thank you for your reply, I will look into it 🙏
Why do you need a trickle charger?
I store my generator in the garage, when not in use. The part of the garage where I store the generator doesn't have a receptacle close enough to use the battery charger on the generator. So I remove the battery and hook it up to a trickle charger so that the battery is charged and ready to go when needed.
How does that right-angle plug into the generator work for you? I've heard that the cord/plug coming down out of the outlet can hit the wheel.
No issues what so ever, guessing majority of the people that say the cord hits the wheel is plugging in the cord from the front.
I route the cord from behind the wheel and into the plug.
@@gilbosdiy Good suggestion! I didn't think to route it that way. BTW, the EasyStart is great! I have two of them as well. Surprised more people don't know about them.
@@danielcline650 Yea, if I would have known about EasyStart years ago, it would have been great. What tonnage is your easy start kits on? How were your reductions with the EasyStart?
@@gilbosdiy I have two 2.5ton units and a 364 on each. One unit went from 63a lra to 27a, and the other one went from 56a lra to 19a. Really opens up the possibilities for backup power.
@@danielcline650 Very nice reductions. For sure it will open up great possibilities when having to use a backup generator.
I'm getting the other parts in order, shed and gas hook up. Once I get my Lifetime shed finished i'll post another video.
I have an order in to the gas company to upgrade my gas meter from a AC250 to AL425. To handle the additional gas load.
How are you liking the inlet box? Looking at getting this one because of build quality and that closes even while in use just not sure I like how big the box is.
Works well for me, I didn't want a plastic one. Since my main panel is metal, I figured inlet box should be the same, that's my thinking. As far as the size, I felt it having more room, made for easier install.
@@gilbosdiy does it get dusty/dirty inside being it is not sealed?
@@alexgenereux4704 No not really, I put a piece pipe insulation between the lid and box.
