Do you refer to gold weapon? Both have an advantage to your kvm or gvg team. If your team got dps like warlock or damage thru skills book are better since there is a gold book that can reset active skill. And you can use Offered Blessing multiple times so that your team can spam skill for longer time. And for one handed staff you can wear any gold shield that give debuff to your teammate like Rosamunda or any other shield that also can buff your whole teammate damage.
