BTS did NOT release Dynamite to get a Grammy. They have stated multiple times that they came across the demo for Dynamite and it made them happy and smile during a shitty time, so they decided to record it to spread some happiness during this Covid shit. They NEVER expected it to get the attention it did. The fact that they got a Grammy nom for Dynamite says more about the Grammys than it does about BTS. BTS deserved Grammy noms for some of their previous work and they DEFINITELY deserved the nom for Album of the Year for Map of the Soul 7, which is the best selling album, globally, from 2020. The fact that the Grammys only nominated them for their English only song, means they still have a LONG way to go until they get over those Xenophobic hurdles they've created. Don't get me wrong, Dynamite deserved the nom and I hope, for the guys sake, that they win, they just deserve a lot more, they've earned it.

It wasn't for a Grammy nomination, they wanted to put out a happy song for COVID and didn't expect it to blow up like it did. But they also wanted to see what a catchy English song would do in America.
