    As someone who lives in the uk and boards crammed commuter trains every day those coaches look fantastic. So clean and so much space for each passenger, I wish our trains were more like that

    I wanna say the main reasons trains like the one you rode had nobody on was because alot of people aren't fully aware its open to the public, the train you got on was just at the beginning of Rush Hour and finally there are also alot of people waiting to ride for when it starts running to Miami in the summer.

    Thank you for the continued coverage of Brightline. I hope this project is successful. Next time I am in Florida I am taking a ride for sure. I agree that the line will become more popular once the Miami-Orlando branch opens. Also, the horn on the SC-44's is really nice. Keep the updates coming please.

      Thank you Max and yes I believe so. And I will. How is your train set coming? any bigger since the last time I was there? Would like to stop by again on my tour 8 in June.

      Millenniumforce Hey Alan, unfortunately the set is staying as it’s current size lol, can’t cut into any walls. I am working hard on the layout though, and I have added multiple buildings lately so it looks much more complete.
      I look forward to your next visit!

    Brightline will only work when its Miami to Orlando segment opens. Right now to use Brightline conveniently you have to live in downtown in Miami/Ft.Laud/W. Palm and work in downtown in one of those cities. Because Tri-Rail stops in 13 cities it has a much larger population to draw from. Furthermore it's a far cry to pay $5 on Tri-Rail from Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach vs. $15 on Brightline for the same distance.

    • @dynasty0019
      @dynasty0019 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Brightline's advantage is speed, amenities, and its stations' proximity to dense urban centers. In Southern California there are Metrolink and the Coaster, which are like Tri-Rail, and there is the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, a 90 mph intercity train similar to Brightline. The Surfliner makes less stops and has more amenities on board than the two commuter rail options, and despite being substantially more expensive, people are still willing to pay more to travel faster and be more comfortable. Brightline can definitely be successful and the fact that the FEC is building TOD around its stations essentially guaranteed a stable customer base for years to come.

    • @Millenniumforce
      @Millenniumforce  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I believe it will work when Orlando and other cities are added but lets hope they don't go bankrupt before that happens years from now.

    It’s a real shame to see the train so empty during what should be peak hours. I’ve seen more passengers on PATH trains during off-peak hours. It’s actually kinda surreal to see a brand new train station with no passengers...

    I lived in Orlando from 1989-2000. If Brightline goes no further than WPB, it'll most likely be a catastrophic boondoggle. If it does get to Orlando, it's final stop will be the determiner of it's future. It it is ONLY OIA, it's questionable. If it gets to downtown Orlando, it might have a better chance. Orlando SunRail has proven to be a waste of money. It's backers are apparently having "backers' remorse" as to what to do when the federal money goes away. The saving grace with Brightline is, if publicity is correct, no taxpayer money is involved.

    I really liked your video today. I live in the Greater Kansas City area, and we do not have any sort of transportation like trains, let alone one like the one you are on today. This train is bright inside, the seats look comfortable, and the suspension on the train looks like the ride is one of the better rides. Also, the washroom, looked like one, you might see in a small house. Plus, it really looked like one you would really want to use. And the colors inside were nice. I know other areas of the United States have trains as well. I want to stand corrected, in that in the downtown area of Kansas City, Missouri, a short streetcar line is new, but does not go very far in the downtown area. They are wanting to expand the line, but it still will not cover the whole city or anywhere close to that. Other than riding the bus, taking something like Uber or a cab, we really need trains. I thank you for giving me hope, that one day, we in the Greater Kansas City area, will have a train like the one you rode in today.

    I think once MiamiCentral opens it will attract a lot more people. There are city pairs on some of the state-funded Amtrak trains which are around 70 miles which is the distance between Brightline's West Palm Beach station and MiamiCentral. I really hate driving into Miami because that section of I95 from West Palm Beach to Miami is always a mess. I probably would park in West Palm Beach and take the train the rest of way just to avoid that. How expensive is the parking in West Palm Beach? Can you park there for a few nights? The Orlando extension is what they need to do though for sure. Hopefully SunRail gets the money to connect into the airport like they are supposed to. Then people can take SunRail to the airport and switch to Brightline to go to South Florida. In most other developed countries commuter rail and intercity passenger rail complement each other like that and allow for easy transfers.

    • @keystonetuscanred4921
      @keystonetuscanred4921 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Miamicentral is in the process of being finished and will possibly be finished perhaps by early spring. The extension to Orlando could come into the picture possibly by 2020 or late 2020. Hopefully earlier, since no stations will have to be built.

    • @FridgeToThe
      @FridgeToThe 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I went on vacation during Christmas and I parked at the new Intermodal Terminal at the Orlando airport. Brightline's platform is all done. All they have to do is build the tracks and connect it. I am hyped for MiamiCentral too. It looks like a station you would see in Tokyo or Berlin. I really hope Brightline does well. I live up in North Florida and unfortunately I do not see Brightline or state-funded Amtrak service happening in my part of the state. I want to move back to Orlando in a few years so hopefully Brightline is done by then.

    I bet once Amtrak gets their new high speed trains they would get more brightline style coaches like luxury coaches because they could get a lot of money off the Avelia Liberty's. Also I think they're not that many people because they a re still used to the Silver Star/Silver Meteor Amtrak trains and maybe Amtrak already starts the two trains from Miami Airport Station. which is attracting riders for a more convenient connection for their flight out of Miami. But that's just me I live in Denver.

    This is the way that Public Transit should be working. The UTA Utah Transit Authority FrontRunner stations need to be like these stations are. I love how these trains run at 80+ MPH or up to 120+ MPH. This means that you can get from point A to pint B and it will not take very long to do so. Having food that you can purchase and having the ability to drive a wheelchair from one end of the train to the other end of the train would be a big blessing. I love how these trains have a automatic Bridge Plate. These would be nice on the FrontRunner trains in Salt Lake City Utah. If you are in a Wheelchair and you use the UTA FrontRunner system it is a Miracle that you don't Bust your Neck trying to get on or off of these trains while the train host is trying to hold the Rickety Bridge Plate Down? These are very nice trains and I wished that we could of saw the Wheelchair Seating Areas. The sucky thing about the UTA Utah Transit Authority FrontRunner trains are not set up so if you are in a power chair and you need to charge your chair or at the stations are not equip so you can charge your power chair in a climate controlled station while waiting for your train even if it is just a few minutes or for an hour while waiting for your train. Utah doesn't know how to really run a real Transit System and make it work.

Have you noticed that towards the beginning of the video the brightline train came into the station and a person went right behind the train as it went into the station? We can’t have Morons like them. Why can’t they just be patient? They probably have nothing better to do, so they should just wait until the train passes.

      Yes, the stories from multiple sources said people under estimate the speed of the trains and think they can sneak past gates so as to beat the trains. HUMAN ERROR TOTALLY! But it also stated that slower speeds in metro areas would curb accidents!

    I give it 6 months before FEC rethinks this. Amtrak has been negotiating with FEC for a train from JAX-MIA instead of CSX.

    Absolute waste of money must have been built with Obama shovel ready money. I would love too see it busy but Americans don’t normally do trains

      cmphighpower a “waste of money” that will be worthwhile. Do you understand how these trains will benefit Florida? Instead of having to travel on congested highways and being stuck in traffic behind the wheel, you can relax, do what you want while the train goes from point A to point B. Why are there people like you who oppose rail projects when we really need them?

      Budder Shark and how many people were riding the train? No one but Alan on the way back. I’m all for train travel but nobody is riding it. Problem is they usually aren’t very convenient unless you live in a high rise type of city. Many small class 3 railroads could use federal money to rebuild and rehabilitation of old lines torn out years before by short sighted executives. They also need to exempt low traffic rail lines of property taxes so short lines can become profitable. That would help get trucks off the road. It would also be infrastructure for passenger rail if needed

      This was a private investment, if you want to see a real Obama shovel project look at Comifornia High Speed Rail which won't even be open till 2030 at the earliest and is already over 2x the original budget.
