"It's So Easy (to Fall in Love)" was underappreciated when originally released by Buddy Holly and The Crickets in 1958, failing to make even the U.S. Top 100. It is now recognized as one of the great rock and roll songs and has been covered by many artists, most notably by Linda Ronstadt, whose version reached the Top Five on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977.
The music never died.

The Crickets never had back up singers, when they played live, only on the records; basically, Buddy was the only one singing until Norman Petty would add the in either the Roses or the Picks, later in mixing.
