- In today's MotorBeam video, we do a quick commute run from Mumbai to Pune on a scooter, the Yamaha Aerox 155, to determine how much time does it take for intercity commute and the real-life mileage we can achieve. Also, the scooter comes to reserve as we reach the destination which is pretty good to determine the tank range as well.

You are taking too many risks. Drive slow reach safely. 15 -20 mins can be saved by rash driving but risks of accident increases.
My Aerox giving me 42KMPL in mountains ( my city ) The fuel efficiency will increase after 5000km done . By the way I’m from Baguio City summer capital of PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭

The mileage is not that bad compared to the performance the only downside is the small fuel tank.
U can modify and put 7 to 8 lt tank.

Going a little gentle on the throttle while maintaining good speed pretty sure it'll return over 40-45kmpl on the highways been there and done that on the v3 engine the catch is ride it before 7k rpm and not in the vva range. If you plan to tour at around 120kmph+ on the highways done that on the Jaipur - Chandigarh the R15 v3 returned 32kmpl lowest in the past 3 years of ownership 😂😂
How is R15v in terms of comfort for 6 feet 2 tall guy, also why don't you upload video on your channel??

Around 50+ mileage(If you do proper break in method within 1000km) in highways+Amazing torque (0 to 80 in just 8 seconds)+refined engine+vva+liquid cooling+muscular eye catching look that is the Aerox 155. Some says it's overpriced but if you check the current prices of motorcycles in India. You need to pay 1.5 lakh for Honda Unicorn! So for 1.58 lakh this is not an overpriced maxxi

Max mileage have received is 44kmph that too have ridden it very sanely, I don't think it will ever give 50 plus .What does proper break in means

@@maxsarat my overall mileage is 42 kmpl. There were many instances where I got 50+ mileage.
This scooter is a good choice for long rides as it has a liquid cooling engine so heating won't be an issue in the long ride
heating won't be issue but after 200km back pain starts to come 😹
This trip reminds me of my 1998 Amritsar-Ferozepur-Amritsar week end trips of 135 kms each way, on my LML Star scooter. Once I travelled with my wife and two kids...with some luggage.....Great fun.... Solo/pillion riding is good but trips of more than two on scooter now a days is absolutely NO.. Please... Traffic now a days is very dense and unsafe...

Basically a powerful 150cc bike without the gears, smaller fuel tank and stiff suspension! Also, I have been getting a odo indicated 42kmpl from my two week old Aerox, I dont open up much letting it run in for a while

Overtaking a bus from left is a death sentence not only for you but also for the passenger if someone is getting down.

Totally agree with you but sadly people just don't seem to know basic road manners. They end up blocking the right lane(overtaking lane) doing 20-30kmph. It's really frustrating and even though we enthusiasts know about always overtaking from right, it's subconsciously has become our nature to do it from left to avoid wasting time honking behind a dumb person.
@@anantjain540 I understand what you mean to say but in this video, the driver was in a hurry and did not make any attempt to overtake from right side.
Even I have been forced to overtake from left many times specially on highways where trucks block the right lane, but that doesn't become a norm.

Did a 250 kms ride yesterday with an average speed of 70 kmph and the vehicle returned 42 kmpl. Didn't go beyond 80 kmph.
I was at 80-100 most times
@@DhanilVira ohh yes. Beyond 6k RPM VVA kicks in where one can't expect efficiency.
The place khandala u mentioned is actually Khopoli. Khandala is at hill top where the ghat ends and connects expressway.
I drove from Rajgadh to Koshi Barrage 133 km on Aprilia SR 150 race in 2 hrs 4min with average milages of 40.1km/lit.

I have just done 181 km trip on my access , at about 70 to 80 kmph, and got almost 57 kmpl average wich is nice.

Mileage is decent in terms of power because of the drive train every scooty will give less mileage compared to geared bike

Climbed the amba ghat (from the way to ganpatipule to kolhapur) at a speed of 50-55 kmph with a pilion through the traffic where the roads are way too narrow.
Pirelli angel svooter tyre at the front with 30 air pressure and timsun tyre at the rear with 32 air pressure

Wakdewadi showroom spareparts person and the guy who checks vehicles for repairs are thugs.. they tried to scoop in a 1000rs bill for just a fuel tank cap replacement which is 125rs..I had to go to another showroom which was much far away to get the job done.. I really hate that wakdewadi showroom..
Tilak road Yamaha showroom once lied to me that fz25 price slash was only for white color.

my r15 v2 nornally gets 50km/l 400km for tank...cruise at an indicated 120 km/h often going up to 130-140km/h such a good bike.

I drove my aprilla sxr 160 for 160 km in 3hrs from gondia to nagpyr with 38.7km/l avg....

I think this scooter or bike whatever you prefer to call it it is an work in progress and it will be better overall if or when it gets an eventual facelift/update within an year or 2. Right now its too damn experimental and far from being refined.

6:15 that was khopoli, khandala is above the ghat
No point in opening up throttle like that at slow speeds, you just burn away fuel with little gains. Acceleration and throttle movement on a CVT should be gradual.
Am glad Yamaha bought amidst boring ass(Aprilia being an exception) scooters which has barely evolved for the last 20yrs. Am booking on soon and start to Import bolt on parts like 8-ltr tank, rear disk kit, rear carrier and you have an awesome chair on wheels .

Rookie numbers lol. I have done a trip of 350 km on my v3 got 60.90 kmpl and 62.10 kmpl while returning home. I rode at a speed of 80-90 kmph on highway and 50-60 kph in one way roads. However 135 km in 2 hrs is really fast. Want to see you do these runs in other bikes

31.4 km/h milege means good milege. How can it be worse one since you were riding at 100 Km/h speed?
If you ride with an average speed of 40/50 km per hour, you will get the milege as offered by the company.
I used to ride at an average of 50 Km/hour. And I got up to 45km milge...
