Thank you for the tutorial on making curls. I've bought locks that were so matted together it was impossible to separate them without tearing them to bits. And they are expensive too.
Thank you so much for this very how do you have the sweetest thing I love watching you I don’t always have the time but I don’t want you to walk from you and it’s so easy. Thank you honey. Have a wonderful day.
This was soooooo helpful! My grand-daughter loves sheep, has for all her 10 years of life since she got a stuffed sheep toy at 3 months old. Still has that sheep too. I'm new to felting and would love to make her a sheep. So this is awesome, thank you!
I found this video to be inspiring and knowledgeable. Nice camera work and best of all nice relaxing speed. I look forward to watching more tutorials that will help me along my merry felting way.
Thank you for this tutorial. Very useful. I wished I could see yo when you are live but it is ot always that easy. Timing gets difficult. so thank you for posting it online.
THANKYOU so so much for this amazing tutorial....I've been making curls today, perfect for the breed of dog I make...no more ordering expensive curly mohair etc...I'm so pleased xxx
Thank you that was really good and helpful. Also very cost effective , you could save your self lots of money and it also saves dissapoitment if your purchased locks are not good enough.
Thank you so much that’s absolutely brilliant, I’ve been looking for curls online as I need lots of them for a project but they’re so expensive to buy!! I’m definitely going to do your curls for sure, I’m excited to start them now x
That is soooo cool!! I bought some Teeswater locks at a fiber festival two weeks ago and i don't have enough to do what i wanted and can't find the people to buy more. Your video is awesome! Glad i found you, perfect timing 🤗Thanks for making this, they came out so pretty. I am very very new at all of this but omg, i love it!
I wish I could get to some of the fiber festivals - but then again its possibly best on the bank ballance that I haven't been to any in a while. Glad my curls can help - they are really fun to get crazy colours :)
Thank you so much for sharing this. I need this informatiion for making a little bit curly hair fot the ears of a Cocker Spaniel dog. But I wonder how long these curls will last?
Glad it helped. I have curls from over 5 years ago that are still as curly as they were when I made them - also you can kind of felt the loops of the curls that touch the ear into the ear a little to support it and keep it sort of under control if you know what I mean
I will definitely show you when I'm done! I only have the core body done so far but I've been putting colours aside for his mane and tail. I was looking at curly locks online and they just didn't have the colours I wanted so this is ideal!
What happens if they get wet again? I wanted to use them at the ends of a wet felted scarf. I could tr to keep them out of the water but I wonder what will happen with the rolling etc. Thank you! Great fun!
So I''m embarking on a gnome making project to people a little tree house. Any suggestions on how to use curls on young girl gnomes or beards of the old ones? I've not done this before, so I'm a little hazy. think some curls would be great! Thanks.
Oh that sounds so sweet!! I have a video on how I use my curls - I think adding a few to same coloured hair would add a little magic - or add all curls for crazy hair :) you can even not separate the curls so they are more like ringlets th-cam.com/video/xTYv46x4RX4/w-d-xo.html
Excellent! Im needle felting a Welsh lady for my friends birthday on March 1st, St Davids day, (Patron saint of Wales) We're Welsh, if you hadnt guessed. Anyway, its my first ever NFing project. I watched videos, including yours (thanks, so helpful) and its turning out pretty darn good if I say so myself! Ive been wondering what sort of hair to give her. My friend has naturally tight spiral curls,, I could give the doll similar hair...or is that a bit creepy voodoo LOL Ive got some skewers in the draw and I'll be making hair tomorrow. Thanks again, subbed :)
Ohhh fantastic you going for a person for your first felt, thats amazing. Please feel free to share her with me when you are done, I love seeing peoples work I think curly hair would be awesome and not creepy voodoo at all :D :D
@@PamDuthie Im an artist....though for certain reasons havent picked up a brush or pencil in at least 6 years now. And I would draw every day, all my life, since I could hold a pen. Im 50 now. My nan would save up all her old Christmas/ birthday cards, so I could draw on the blank half inside. Something about a blank piece of paper mmmm....lol! My thing was always people, the figure, Im self taught but did a few college courses in my 30s (got to use their equipment) and access to a life model was great! So its been surprisingly not too difficult at all. Its not brilliant by any standard (my little doll), some of the amazing works of needle felting art, just wow! But I'd love to send you a photo of the finished doll. Thanks for all your inspiring and helpful videos. I cant afford to go to workshops, so people like yourself, giving tutorials (on anything) are just a Godsend.
Aww that is lovely to hear! Im smiling at all those insides of cards! I cant wait to see your finished doll, that is so exciting, thank you for sharing
It depends, the tricky thing is different places call it different things. Basically you are looking for the fibre before it has been spun, sometimes 'roving' is lightly spun
hat you could ... and I love your videos .. with needle felting. Unfortunately I do not understand the language videos. hope you understand what I write here with the translated :) have a nice weekend pam...annette
Pam love this but tried this an I made lots but when it was finished I did not have enough for anything, not sure what or why it was so few curls, can you advise
Oh dear, Im not sure - I get loads when I make it, did you separate the curls once you had unwound them? If you can send me a photo on my page on facebook (BenMcFuzzylugs) or stick up a video here so I can see what you have got
It's called different things all over the world but wool tops is most common. Any shops that cater to weavers and spinners should have it as its the stage of the wool before it is spun into yarn
Where are you? I am in the UK, there are loads of places I love but for tops/roving I love wingham wool and world of wool. I am not sure about other countries
Sorry if this video was not what you expected, it is just one of my hundreds of needle felting tips, techniques, reviews and tutorials. Many people use curls on their needle felted sculptures so I was excited to share the method I used to create curls. I have a follow up video on how to attach these curls and also a cockapoo and poodle felting tutorial using handmade curls
If you had watched any of her other videos you would see she clearly knows what needle felting is. She is simply sharing a tip that will be so helpful to a lot of people including myself. There is a saying that is pertinent here: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Hilarious comment from someone who hasn’t watched Pam’s other videos and tutorials. Locks ARE hit and miss, and can be an expensive mistake to make if you get a bad batch - this is a great tip for making wonderful locks for your NEEDLEFELTED creations. Still chuckling at the foolish bitchiness! 😂
I have an updated video with EXTRA tips on making the curls - check this one out th-cam.com/video/jkw7chohTfY/w-d-xo.html

It is so addictive to make curls :)
Fab! I do this but then to dry them I put them on a baking tray in the oven for 40 mins on a very low setting .. drys them much quicker
Thats a good idea too, I know people use hairdryers or hair straighteners too
that was excellent!
thank you! fun way to make curls!
You are welcome, it is indeed fun - and addictive :D

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
Pam i need your help. the stick is standing in the hot water? dry stick with felting wool and than the stick in hot water? sorry i cannot englisch
