- This is a really quick guide on how to get the blueprint in the spawn.
Homunculus Rune - Found in the Prisoners’ Quarters after defeating the Hand of the King (the final boss) for the first time. Allows you to control your head separately from your body, so that you can reach different areas and get loot easily.
That's how you pop your head off...beat the game once.
Everybody is asking what and where is the head off rune but nobody said congrats to that man. So bravo and congrats for finding it!

Promenade of the condemned, at the start of the stage keep left and keep spider jumping up to a blueprint. You have to keep holding left and keep jumping until you see the spikes. Its slow but its a blueprint up there.
There's another one up there? Isn't that just the assassin dagger?

got a highest level throwing knife with spreading bleed to nearby enemies, mowed through all the enemies like a boss
though the throwing knives got stick on the boss and i have to spam grenades
There's another way for those who are unable to perform the jump. You can stand on the wooden platform on the right at 1:54 (the one after you pick up the money and jump up). You HAVE to stand on the very tip, and this might take a few tries. Standing here will allow enough range for your homunculus head to enter the area and pick up the item. Anyways, you have to move with your homunculus to the left all the way back to the wall. Remember, it will start tugging, so always keep it tight and always keep moving left. Then you jump up the first wooden platform, then the second. After you reach the second platform on the left, use the rubber band tug and flip your movement to the right and do a double jump that should be enough to get you into the area. After that it's the same thing. Your homunculus won't disconnect, because your character is just below and not far away.
It's a bit more mindfucky and feels more like an abuse. But the general idea is the same eh? Reach the blueprint with the homunculus so I think it's aight. If you try to do it from the left it won't work because your character is too far away from the blueprint and it will snap back.

Everyone asking the dumb question of how to pop your head out, no one asking the important question: that blue print gave disengagement. What does disengagement do?
If your health falls under 20% of maximum, you become fully protected for 6 seconds. Can only occur once every 120 seconds.
It's basically a reusable ygir that won't lock a mutation slot in the upcoming alpha

Triple Red Shell 6 secs!!!!! That's like an ultimate skill in deadcells. 6 secs is quite enough for me. 120 secs recharge time can be easily reduced with mutations. That's quite a nice skill.
You can kill the final boss in 6 seconds
Popping off your head is a rune you get for beating the finishing the game the first time.

Holy shit HOTK is hard. Unlike other bosses, I really had to "dance" with him. Just slashing my way through won't work on him
@@QuanTrietLOLit’s been 2 years, so I’m guessing you’ve gotten better at the game by now if you’re still playing, but you can use assist mode and change some settings. It doesn’t prevent achievements or anything, they don’t make you feel bad about needing it, the devs just want people to have fun with their game

You don't actually need to do the whole wall run thing, as long as you've beaten the hand of the king once and have the head detachment skill, all you have to do is find the sweet spot on the floor under a bit to the left under the blue print. I say sweet spot because if you detach your head too far it automatically retracts. Anyways, detach your head to your left, roll up the wall, and hop your head across, if you have the distance right, you should be able to navigate the tunnel no problem, then just retract once you get the blueprint!
To add to this... I know where that sweet spot is. See the sconce and the moneybag? Just stand between them!
It took me almost 20 min to get it and then i died :P

Alright, you deserve a like. I managed to get to room all by myself without looking any guides, but i was forgot about the head-launching move!
If anyone is still struggling, here’s what helped me deal stupid damage to the king:
At least 19 Brutality
About 7-8 Tactics.
Didn’t put any points in survival
I used:
Twin daggers
Pyrotechnics
Wolf Trap
Double crossbow turret
I’ve gotten decimated by the king every time before I tried this build. And it worked magnificently.

Honestly it's just a matter of getting used to it. I could have gotten a million advices I would still die to the HotK the first few tries. I remember being stupidly nervous the first time, lol, no chance I'd beat him at all. Now that I've beaten him it's just a matter of being strong enough to kill him faster than I can hand (no pun intended) him the victory. I'd love to play survival but the longer the fight takes and the more skill required, the most likely it becomes to lose

I believe the button used is r3 like pressing it in. I cannot confirm till I get home. Hope this helps

I'm baffled every time I see someone playing DC with a keyboard. And be really good too. I couldn't fathom playing any kind of platformer without a controller.
It's just that some of us got into games through PC games - Flash, Unity and the like - so we got used to KB+M and got good with it too c:

I grew up with a nes controller in my hand and hadn't gotten into pc gaming until the last 5 years or so, and I STILL use a controller for 80% of my PC games, even to my own detriment in some fps games. But using M+k for a platformer just seems unintuitive to me. A game like Hollow Knight or DC where jump button pressure and minute stick adjustments can make or break a run for instance. Different strokes I guess
But then again, the NES dpad was pretty much 4 separate buttons under a solid cross, so I do see the parallel to WASD.
I do realize the shortcomings of WASD tho. If I knew how to do that, I would wire my DSlite to my PC and use it as a controller because that's the console I'm most familiar with after KBM :D
I was a god at Mario Kart back in the day, none of my friends and classmates could beat me x3
I prefer M+KB, it feels like i can execute most actions/ combinations faster with it.
You don't need spider tune, you just need a double jump
thanks man, was getting kinda frustratet because I tried to do it in a "speedrun" fashion as I did not realize that I could roll into there... saved me from a lot of grey hair :D
You can actually do it from the ground with your head thingy too. Stand on the wood ledge, detach head, climb side with head, jump with head towards right side (the pull to your body will make it possible), do what he did last .
You don't need anything just the Homunculus rune. You don't need wall jump or anything , if you standing on the ground you can reach it from there.

Also, for those that don’t know yet. You need to beat the Hand of the King boss at least once to get the Homunculus Rune or whatever it is called that lets you dislocate your head from your body. You get this ability/rune automatically the first time you beat the The Hand of the King boss, which is located in the Throne Room.

I somehow got this blueprint by messing around in the boss cell room, it just suddenly gravitated to me.

I could only get it after the spider rune due to double jump not being able tor reach on its own.
1) Stick to the left wall then double jump away from the left wall to the right.
2) Now that you are on the right hand wall you have to roll right otherwise you will fall
3) Once you have rolled right into the hidden standing area pop your head and you will be able to reach it.
You dont need spider rune if your on two boss cells the game gives you an amulet every time you reset so keep resetting until you get an amulet that gives you an extra jump then you can do it without the spider rune

You can also do in custom mode blueprints in costume count over so if you have jump you can just double jump triple jump your way enroll into it

Yeah people should upvote this. The whole video was horribly agonizing. What should have been 10 seconds or less, felt like 10 minutes or more. I feel like I literally triggered a dissociative state of mind, for being stupid and not skipping any of it.

This is not how I got this, I hung onto the wall at 0:58 instead of rolling and then detached my head while still on the wall and made it crawl through to the blueprint before i fell off the wall (had to be done very quick or I fall off)
It took me many tries of multiple different strategies but I can say for sure I never attempted the one in the video.
Interesting regardless and thank you for sharing info to help people who are stuck.

J. Kol34 i did it at my 11th attempt, just bump everything into purple, only a little bit into red and green for more health and get your stationary shooting traps, thats all you need
Apologize for very long comment in advance but if you read all this I swear it'll help you beat the game.
Took me a bit to beat the game but once I learned what works and how to play this game it's honestly pretty simple to beat it. At least the first time.
Get Wolf Traps for bosses. They get stuck in them and you deal more damage to the bosses. Helps a lot. Preferably get either Ice or Fire grenade so it gives you a damage reduction boost and either slows the boss down or does consistent damage to the boss. Obviously, the preferred would be -20% (or more if they can get past -20% but I've personally never seen that) but any % is better than 0% you know? Get the Cudgel (it's a shield if you don't know) and just get used to parry timing.
I know this is gonna be easier for some than others but trust me getting good at parrying will save your ass in this game and the cudgel gives you another -% damage reduction boost so even if you can't parry for shit it's still worth having for the damage reduction. Want to get some version of an amulet. Basically, if you see an elite enemy, fight it and hope it drops an amulet. Cause even the worst amulet is better than the prisoner collar that you start your run with as it does literally nothing.
The weapon you use is basically just your preference I don't think it really matters. I'd suggest something faster over the heavier, slower weapons but that's just me and my play style (which is more aggressive than others I'm sure.)
Now even getting all this stuff isn't going to guarantee you a win. Sure it'll help a lot and carry even the most awful player but if you don't know how to build in this game it's not gonna matter. Typically in games, you'd want a balanced stat increase. But in this game, I really recommend not going for a balance at all. Stick to upgrading whatever stat it is that boosts the damage for (the majority of) your items you have and once you get to the point where it doesn't give you a health increase put stats into whatever other stat that will give you the biggest health increase.
Which means you're gonna want to get to the timed doors or if you really got the balls open the cursed chests. I personally don't like opening cursed chests. I know it's very helpful and can really make you OP cause every one gives you a stat increase scroll but I don't like to take the chance that I might get hit and lose my whole run cause I made one mistake. But if you want to do that it's worth it and can really put your build to the next level.
I fucked up for the longest time trying to be balanced and have points into everything and I would almost always lose my runs cause this game just isn't meant to be played like this. I'm sure you could beat the game like this but it's a lot harder is what I'm saying.
Another thing I highly recommend is re-rolling your items to get as much elemental damage as you can. Make things burn, make them leave toxic clouds, make them poison the enemy...etc...etc. It's just extra damage there's not really a reason not to do this.
As far as your mutations go I used Vengeance which makes you deal more DPS for 13 seconds after you get hit, Tainted Flask which makes you deal more DPS after you use your healing flask, and Fireworks Technician which just gives you a faster cooldown for grenades. Only negative to this is you're gonna have to at the very least beat The Time Keeper 5 times to get these since Vengeance drops on the 5th kill of it and Tainted Flask drops from the 4th kill of it. But it's not a difficult boss if you have a shield and damage reduction before you get to it.
For the love of god if you get anything that makes it to where you take 100% more damage re-roll that shit immediately. Never use an item that makes you take more damage. I lost so many fucking runs because I spaced out and forgot to take that dumbass "You get 1 health per hit but you take 100% more damage" perk off my weapon. I've watched it kill other people's runs, I've had it kill mine. It's not worth it, get rid of it as soon as you can.
And that's really it. Doing this should get you to at the very least beat the game once. I know it did for me. It's easy to say "get this stuff and you win" cause not all this stuff is gonna drop for you but if it does you shouldn't have a problem. Or it should be significantly easier at least.
YouGot2BeKitten TM I will note that the cleaver and crossb-o-matic both seem to have an increased chance of the -25% damage when nearby perk. Taking those can really mess a boss up, especially if you get a cleaver that does extra damage to a status’d target, wolf trap, and an item that causes that stat effect (esp. firebrand for reliability.)
J.Kol34 Tactics/purple. The Time Keeper is way too mobile to reliably run brutality or survival on; I’m honestly surprised you’re making it through Clock Tower without a tactics skill good enough to beat Time Keeper. Aside from that, all I can advise you to do is keep skills up and jump and roll constantly.
Jumping will save you from the hookshot attack, occasionally the charging and shuriken attacks, while rolling towards the Time Keeper will save you from everything else consistently. Just keep your tactics items on damage duty, pepper them with ranged attacks if you have them (firebrand is, again, particularly useful for reliable damage, as you can toss it while moving,) and try to keep up.
i can finally beat him consistently with traps and a crossbomatic. Then I just get rekt in the next level

You can actually make it there without spider rune. If you jump>shoot bow>roll>jump it gives you extra distance and lets you get across

Almost reached the final boss in the first 10 hrs. Now I am stuck there. LOL
I was able to grab it by double jumping and then just launching my head while standing on the ledge. Your head moves just barely far enough to get the blueprint before snapping back to you. It's incredibly precise but I was able to do it after 20 or 30 minutes of trying. It's definitely not consistent though. Positioning is nearly pixel perfect.

This can be done without the spider rune! Just use the head pop thing (i forgot the name) while standing near the middle of where the path is and do some jump

I managed to do this by getting stupid lucky and getting a pendant that let me do two extra jumps on the Prisioner's Quarters. So yeah, all you gotta do is get lucky!
I've been playing on Very Hard...I watched my friend play and he got the Spider Rune wwwaaayyyy before me...He's never "beaten" the game. I feel so dumb for upping the difficulty for no reason; This is one of those reasons lmao

I think you can also reach it by throwing your head from the left most platform.
That might have been how I got it.
Either that or I just threw the head mid jump and tried to be fast with getting it

Wait... that's what you were supposed to do? The thing just flew to me when I pounded the ground in front the Stem Cells. I don't why it decided to fly to me then or how it even occurred but it did. It was probably just a glitch maybe.
If anyone wants to know how you find the homunculus rune which is where you can remove yiur head well you need to finish the game and kill the kings body guard to get it you get it after you kill the king
