F1 Tribute - Keke Rosberg

- This is my tribute to Keke Rosberg, the first Finnish F1 driver to win the World Championship. Keke has had the reputation of being a loudmouth, but without him, there would've never been Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikkonen or any other F1 driver from Finland these days.

The music matches this perfectly 👌🏼👌🏼
As guy in his 40s I simply say: Those were the good old 80's in full terms of F1 racing and the music in this video. This kind of F1 made me a enthusiast for racing and a very good young race driver myself as a teen in Formula Ford. This was life this was racing this was music. Thanks for this video. All best
@Firstname Lastname
Sounds great 😎🏆✊
keke was surely one of the best, always pushing hard as hell,
he was outstanding at the raidillon in Spa, truly outstanding,
respect for that man, big balls of fire,
bernie of belgium
This is the best video on youtube
Keke was technically perfect and tough fighter. Lucky? Cmoon, 1982 his Williams with its 15 years old Cossie engine was much slower than Ferraris and Renaults but he still managed to get the title. He just didn`t crash like Ferrari drivers and managed save his car unlike Prost. That`s all.
*****
bsit. Peterson , lauda, andretti, de angelis, villeneuve , peroni were the class pilots of those days , keke was nowhere near them
*****
if i was driving that williams i would have won the 1982 title
Someway only Lauda and Andretti from your list was able to win titles, others not, although most of them were racing in top teams for years.
Keke was widely considered the fastest guy alive and this fuck face was driving a Cossie V8. This man deservs a 1000 bhp turbo.
I believe Williams weren't using a carbon fibre monococque in 1982 either
Keke was, is and allways will be one of the great ones.
Keke is the toughest guy Formula 1 has ever seen!
But his son is a bitch :D
why?
Fabio Henrique 2 years later, his son is a World Champion.
Alan Jones would like a word lol
i loved his interviews, really funny and nice guy.
An Excellent driver! He deserved a more than 5 victories, in my opinion.. 1983-1984 were enough to tell me how good a driver he was... Also, he outpace Mansell at Williams in 1985! Well, at least he won a WC in 1982 hehe
Keke is one of those drivers who were one of the best of their era, but not well remembered.
Also i think its funny that Keke's driving style was full attack and aggressive, when Nico's driving style is calculative and calm. Keke reminds more of Lewis than Nico when you think about it.
+Bluen _p Keke drove a bit like Gilles Villeneuve.
The song fits really good with the video. Great song choice!
Love the background song, Toto, Goin Home. Yay!!
Very excellent pilot! A fantastic car. Willimas since 1981, 1982, 1983. Such a style he had!
Thanks man ... Those pics of him and Paul Newman are great !
The man who laid the landmark for all "flying finns" out there.. great compiltation uploader
My f1 hero. Proud to have been at his first two wins at Dijon and Monaco. Spectacular to watch.
The BRDC on Silverstone with F1 cars in 1978. Champions like Hunt, Lauda and Andretti had accidents or spun out in the rain. Peterson, Ickx and Regazzoni lost control. Keke Rosberg driving a Theodore, essentially a modified F2 car, held of Emerson Fittipaldi in the rain and won.
Had Rosberg remained in Williams in 1986 he could have won his 2nd title, but sadle he signed for McLaren
Also Rosberg's 160mph qualifying lap in Silverstone with a slow puncture in 1985.Remained the record until 2002.
Keke is Show man .
It takes guts to alow a car to drift at Monaco, we sur appreciated the show Keke!
At 2:35, one of the most beautiful race starts i've ever seen!
Erittäin suuri kiitos Konfuusiolle tästä videosta. Ylivoimaisesti youtuben paras video! Kiitos.
Great KEKE the true flying finn!!!!!
Pironi died in 1987 whilst Powerboat racing, He wasnt killed in F1, He was nearly crippled by a crash at the German GP in 1982 during qualifying which meant he never raced in F1 again. Keke won the title by being the most consistent in a season where no driver won more than 2 races in unreliable cars, he didnt "steal" it from Pironi (even if he was leading the points for most of the season).
Good video..... maybe his Maclaren drive in '86 could have got a mention? Pole in Germany and an incredible last GP in Adelaide? Rosberg was a cool guy.
grande Keke!!!
KEKE MOTHERFLIPPERS ! badass driver
Watch the F1 race in Silverstone 1978. The BRDC, which was a non-championship event.
Rosberg won it, against 5 champions and several other winners. It was Rosberg's 2nd ever race with a F1 car. What was he driving then? A Theodore-Ford, which basically was a F2 Ralt with a Cosworth DFV.
Dallas 1984. If that was lucky then you know nothing.
Btw, he set the fastest ever qualifying lap in Silverstone in 1985, and it remained the record until 2002 when they recorded a faster average lap in Monza
Watch any other race please
@@ivansantiagozerpaindaburu2390 what race? The one where he was leading for so many laps until his engine burst into flames? He led for 5 consecutive races in 1985 until his car gave up in every single one of them. Monza 1985 was his victory yet his car failed 10 laps from the end. I have seen every race from his title year to his last victory he never once crashed himself out of the race and I mean it literally. All the retirements on his record are because of car failures... He was very fast especially at Brands Hatch where he came from lap down to finish third.
Keke was so badass
Great vid, great music you gotta love that luke riff
No I think you're right. I think he was just the opposite. If you read his autobiography (if you can still get it!) he talks alot about having a wild and fearless reputation, and he actually states that he was nothing of the sort. The thing with him was, he had AWESOME car control, and a really balls-out style. And the fact that those cars were SO much more exciting to watch than they are now just enhanced his reputation.
What a great tribute.
Keke is one of my heroes, thanks Confuusio.
Loiiistava! Keke veti tyylillä. :D
SUPER! thanks
A great balls out driver
looks like a truck driver who drinks too much, love his attitude, we need more like him!
Hienoa hienoa.Kiitos..
Hyvä video Kekestä!! Näitä lisää!
enough is enough , true points win only counts. real winners we remember, not losers.
3:15...HOLY SHIT!
The drivers were friends because every race could be the last one.
He may have won less races but he was certainly more spectacular driver than his son.
Good video!
Hyvä video!
My second comment on this video, never saw Keke race as I was too young, but I have read a bit on him and seen many vis now, Man, he drove at what i call 100% Mental at all times! I would like to see that legendry Silverstone lap at ave speed at over 160mph by him, but I don't think any video exists.
Hieno pätkä! Fantastic!
CarloCobretti - I think thats quite disrespectful. Keke was one of the fastest drivers in f1 history.
Toto - Goin' Home
Keke won 1982 and is worth it,while death of Gilles Villeneuve and accident of Didier Pironi helped him.Pironi leaded points, when he crashed very dangerous in Hockenheim.Maybe he would win World Championship, but you never know.
Keke drove his last race in 1986 for McLaren. The yellow & white car that he drove was at the Portuguese Grand Prix (I have model of it).
Yes I've read the Villeneuve book - it's superb. The Rosberg book is co-written by Keith Botsford. Don't know if you can still get it as it's about 25 years old, but a search amongst rare books websites may prove worthwhile. I will look out for your suggestion.
The coolest F1 champ there ever was.
The dudes flying lap record stood for like 30 years...do the math. He was fucking pinned on a deflating right rear too hahaha
In the beginning of the video, yes, it was Gilles duelling with Keke in Long Beach.
Loistava video !
U have to be insane to drive with those cars! Better song to make this compilation with would be something like "Asses on fire"
Olipas hyva video. Kiitos tammoisesta. Eiko joku sais Harlinin tai Kaurismaen tekeen leffan Kekesta?
Uns dos poucos a vencer as Mclaren's nos anos 80
thanks¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
I was referring to the race start event, not the car..
Yes, it is.
"Goin' Home" by Toto
2:09, jojojo, genial
muy grande keke rosberg
Pastéis.
one day nico will win wdc just like his father
wiseowner and he did two days ago!
Viisi.
Awesome Tribute amigo! Magnifico!Who sings the song? Cheers.
+Fito Escabi Toto- Goin' Home
Finland the best driver for me.
I want to send applause to Keke which was a man of the world up to a champion.
Pleasetojoin, stadioazteca. I would appreciate if we could leave these disputes and arguments aside and have them elsewhere. Just concentrate and enjoy the video, and don't argue.
30 years ago today 30 vuotta tänään hyvä Keke
Well, certainly not because I subscribe to the "Pironi killed Villeneuve" theory. Gilles died because he pushed it too far once too often, and he probably certainly wasn't thinking straight.
I only brought Villeneuve into it because we were discussing people who maybe would have been champion had circumstances been different. I am also a Pironi fan, and feel he was greatly under estimated. But I do think Villeneuve, and Keke were much better.
2:11 (top spor and smoking :S) but great driver :P ty from this clip
long live to the flying finn!!
Great and fitting tribute, the song fits in too. But how and when was he being a loudmouth?
Keke was very good driver.
Well, Williams at the time (1982 at least) didn't have turbo, that's one thing. It was actually Mika that wanted Kimi to take hi's place at McLaren. I agree with that, he did retire too soon.
is that paul newman at 1:52?
World champion 1982
5:13 ...underrate driver..Michele riposa in pace
Mika came to McLaren when it started to drop, and 95 Australia almost killed him. The cars broke often for Mika in later stages.
Kimi had HUGE reliability problems and might be 3 times champ if not for those problems.
What's the name of this song everyone?
ya his son has huge shoes to fill, but Nico is going well this year
Rosberg score the most points so he is champion deal with that.
i'd like to see a race driver having a cigarette before the start nowdays
Wouldn't it be great if Keke himself showed up here to give his personal oppinion on this tribute...?
Littele fact. Sennas first F1 test was keke's championship williams and last race was also at williams.
@Konfuusio Tuon takia onkin vähän hazardia pitää tageissa f1 tai mitään ykkösiin liittyvää sillä FOA sen avulla deletoi videoita kuulemma tehokkaammin. Mutta hieno video silti.
Anyone who knows the title or singer of the song?
Tuo Keken startti kohdassa 2.38 on todella upea!
Kiitokset kun laitoit tämän tänne. :)
keke and nico rosberg the best.....
do you know who sing this song?
You dont see people smoke cigarillos at pitstop nowdays :D hah
Watching this video really makes me not watch the F1 of today... Man these guys back then were tough... And Keke, what a character... The whole thing has become so sterile and all money and technology now. So little skill involved.
if pironi and villeneuve didnt' die/retire in 1982 he hadn't won the championship.
however i think he was a'' good mustache''!.
